The Official 'Michael' Bio-Pic Thread

I would also like to see the trial included but I also think it needs to look wider than just the trial. I would like to see scenes inside the offices of media corporations to illustrate how they would create and manipulate stories, how they would pay people who didn't witness anything to make up lies etc.
Thats kinda what i was hoping for like have michael read the headlines and react to it

Fuqua said in a recent interview that the original film ended a couple of years after the allegations. Theres also photos from the set of different phases of mjs life and the last two are from around that time. Theres also leaked video footage of jaafar filming a concert scene and in the audience someone is holding a history album cover. So if and a big if part two takes the same timeline then yes it may end with the histry comeback.
Well well look who's here! Elusive Moonwalker welcome back!

Is this an alternative take of the Thriller recreation? Jaafar seems tired and out of step here, notably the spin is off.

I didn't think Thriller in the biopic was bad, but I get why they condensed it, Jaafar doesn't look like Michael in the scene if I'm honest.
I dont think hes supposed to look excaly like mike hes jafar - a whole different person

The friends I went with really enjoyed the movie and they're not really fans. I think for people who don't know a lot it's probably a better experience generally.
That was always expected. I think the bit that surprises me in a really good way is how much people are showing up to celebrate MJ. It's easy to get caught in the doom and gloom with Rolling Stone writing over 15 articles since the release but the real world is very different!

Totally this !!! Even TMZ is trying to rehash the same headlines over and over again but it doesn't work anymore. They forgot that we aren't in 2019. They are losing their power of control on the public

One of the things that killed some of the immersion for me was how Jaafar looked like Michael in one scene and not in the next.

Like, everything in the Off the Wall and Victory eras looked spot on, but it was the Triumph/Thriller period inbetween that I found disjointed.

For instance, on the way to Beat It rehearsal in the car I thought Jaafar looked really uncanny and strange, but then he looked great during the actual rehearsal scene. Same with Thriller - he looked great as zombie Michael but terrible as normal Michael

I can agree with this, in some scenes he looked great but I don't think he looked like Michael in the Thriller scenes, even as a zombie.

I really liked the biopic. The actors really did a great job.

One quick thing I found a bit odd was Thriller and how they made Jafaar look too "clean" while the rest of the cast had the thriller filter on them. It looked weird and I'm not sure if it was done on purpose to "shine a light" on him.

They should've blended that a bit more, made him look more a part of the cast in the music video. Things just got too shiny and light.

I wonder if anyone will deepfake this Biopic with the real faces of those they portrayed

I think this is the best quality so far. The “1997 MJ performing Heal the World” detail is interesting.

Probably the initial directors cut ending ;)

Now it is "Bad". It is simply a different cut/movie. Unfortunately. I am sure the other cut including the 1993 case would have been awesome!

I can see that other people caught this:

During the scene, when little MJ gets beaten by Joe and runs away to the bathroom, the framing, perspective, and the young actor’s position seem to be clearly echoing the “Childhood” drawing from the HIStory album booklet.

Having said that: the movie sucked.

Puck podcast with the Lionsgate head discussing the film + the wins + the reshoots

Lionsgate CEO said he was concerned how it was going to be a satisfying single movie covering the whole of MJs life

There were so many moments of "connective tissue" they just couldn't get to in one film

They weren't annoyed (apparently) because they just saw it as turning it into an even bigger opportunity

The original film did have the 1993 Superbowl
