Thriller 40th Anniversary

The 3 songs worked on are demos with nothing being fully recorded. State of Shock was recorded in 1982 and Mercury said it almost made it on Thriller but they couldn’t align their schedules to finish it since they were never in the same place.

So it was a Thriller outtake after all! Didn't really know that.

honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was meant to take the same spot that was previously held by "She's Trouble" (I think, at least) and later taken by "Beat It."

The 'Victory' duet worked as an inspiration for Michael Jackson to give later that title to the 'Victory' album.

So, the connection between that duet song and that album is a bit deeper.

"[The 'Victory' duet] is the only track that we wrote together which he then used as the title for the Jacksons ['Victory'] album" (Freddie Mercury)

Freddie Mercury also stated that the 'Victory' duet demo sounds great.
Coincidentally, Freddie didn't like that MJ tried to bring his pet llama (Louie) into the studio.
This is just a false myth in the Michael Jackson fan community.

I really think somebody should try and dm Brian on IG asking him what's the actual level of completion of this track. Don't think he'd be a prick about it.

Surely it must be more than a scratch demo? I mean, I feel like Freddie talks about it like it's an actual song. Not just toilet noises and mumbling.

I would assume SOS and TMBMTL are more complete due to MJ and Freddie having sole writers credit on each song while Victory might be less than finished due to them writing together

I heard that it was Brian's mother who sent the tapes to a fan, who gave copies of the 2 to people, and those ended up leaking, no clue how much truth there is to this story.
Does anybody know where all the early leaks came from like starlight and the Billie Jean demos?

Dear Estate of Michael Jackson,

As fans of Michael Jackson, we are perplexed by the way you conduct yourselves. Although we are not affiliated with the estate or Michael Jackson during his lifetime, we feel that you disregard the fact that we are the ones purchasing his/your releases, merchandise, and attending the MJ musical. While there have been commendable projects in the past, there have also been questionable ones that have left Michael Jackson fans with doubts. We believe that you are aware of these projects, so we will not elaborate further.

As a fan community, we would appreciate it if you were more forthcoming when it comes to releases or the reasons why certain releases are not being made. Michael Jackson remains the most successful entertainer of all time, and it is baffling that none of his concerts have been officially released in high definition. Each of his tours deserves an HD release, and his music videos should also receive better treatment. The younger generation is accustomed to high-quality content and does not watch VHS copies. If Michael Jackson were still with us, we are confident that he would have authorized the release of such material by now.

While we are a patient fanbase, we implore you to be transparent if you cannot or do not want to release certain items. We have received numerous empty promises from you over the last decade. For instance, the Thriller 40 Documentary was announced for January, and it is now mid-April, with no update or explanation as to why it is delayed or not coming. We are not irate that it has not arrived yet; rather, we are dismayed that you are not transparent enough to inform us of what is happening. A simple social media post takes a mere five minutes to compose. Yet, you appear to overlook the importance of keeping us informed, despite the fact that we are the community that has supported your releases over the last few years.

We hope that you can provide us with a more detailed response to this email rather than merely stating that you are unable to discuss certain topics. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
The MJ Fan Community.
