Thriller 40th Anniversary

Just FYI they removed some of the HD Victory Tour footage.
I’ve ****** had it with this garbage ass estate man… cut some cool rare footage to make room for a bunch of talking heads who had nothing to do with the album in any way shape or form cause ya know….. that’s what we’re all tuning in for. Screw that Michael Jackson guy and all of his silly little songs and performances BORING! 🥱

The fact that there appearantly is HD/4k footage of victory tour (and possibly other tours) which they simply refuse to release, not even in a documentary, is so fk disappionting.

The estate had some cool projects but overall they can be such a bunch of amateurs..

I'm so confused, I have SkyShowtime which has Paramount+ content but I can't find the docu?

Setting aside my feelings on the tour, I can understand omitting Victory Tour footage from a documentary that is (ostensibly) about the making of the Thriller album. Not only did that tour occur two years later, but it wasn’t even designed to promote Thriller; it started months after the album cycle had ended. Sure, it’s cool, but what purpose does it serve other than “hey that’s neat”? I’d rather they spend the run time on actually exploring the album.

Of course, I haven’t watched the doc yet, so maybe the rest of it isn’t worth the time either.

My Thoughts.

The Documentary is great. But only shows the influence it had to the world and not the way it was built.
Sonic Fantasy is the right documentary for you if you want to see the building process.
In my opinion watch those two documentaries back to back. It's a great experience!
