Of course, various music styles/genres can be found amongst all the songs he made. But are there ones you are missing completely or ones he should have done more of?

I wish he had done more (hard) rock songs like Morphine. I am a big rock/punk-fan, I love his voice there, all the power and raspiness is just mind-blowing. I also wish there were some really, really simple songs, where he's just accompanied by an acoustic guitar. I love acapella versions, so this surely would be ear-candy, too. And maybe some jazz?

I have thought about this several times, so I wonder what you guys think 😊.

I wish he would've released those sounds he was working on in 2006 with Will.I.am - there were some unique sounds being conceived in that studio, maybe would've been released after This is It.

oh my gosh yesssss this is gonna be long imma turn off my colors
I woulda loved to hear more hard rock (come together is also done in that style correct?) He easily had the looks to pull it off and he was just good at doing that style. I think I remember an acoustic version of A Place With No Name which I agree would be fun to hear more.
something I would die to hear is some like, southern gospel music ya know? I remember hearing the live version of Papa Was A Rolling Stone and I love how he sings it. You can hear the soul in his portion and it makes ya wanna go to church. Keep the Faith also has a gospel vibe, I would just love to hear him sing some church music like that it would be gorgeous.
I’m not really good at genre names but I would like to have seen more stuff like Butterflies and Speechless
And what genre would the song All the Lost Children be? I’d want to hear more like that.
You had said jazz and I think that would be so kool to hear from him, I love the soul that jazz has and I think he would be able to do well on something in that style.
More things like Invincible and Unbreakable, that’s got some sick background stuff going on that I like
And what genre is Blue Gangster cuz I would love to have had more in that style

sorry that was long lol
Basically more of everything is what I said, didn’t I? 😅😅😅

More duets with Akon! (Joking.)

Now the most obvious: "Orchestral ballads" (or I don't know how that should be called) such as Childhood and Seeing Voices. Or just more ballads, MJ's voice's just fantastic in ballads.
Though I would take the "more rock" suggestion form previous post too. Curious how he would have done on faster rock styles, not sure of the result though.

I would say the original version is his closest take at sounding like some kind of (electronic) tango, not a very good one, though excellent as a pop song.

I agree. He definitely should have made more rock songs. But many established rock bands probably admire him for the songs he has made.

Yeah, really hard rock would have been great 🥲. I love his voice in Morphine, Scream, Give In To Me, etc.

Maybe little off topic, because it's not a genre but the first time I heard that song I thought it would have been PERFECT for Michael 🥹:

Or also stuff like "Monkey Business" - which genre would that be? I only know the basics 😅
