Why the lip-synching?

I agree that live vocals are important, no doubt. When it comes to a Michael show, however, I see it as so much more than just singing or not singing. It’s a spectacle, “the greatest show on earth”.

I absolutely also prefer watching him perform with live vocals much more than lip-synching and I agree that him lip-syncing most of the show was not the best decision.

Still, what I meant originally is that focusing too much on that, deters fans from seeing all the other positive aspects. The show contains probably his best dancing, the best staging and most importantly it has him in front of his fans. I think it’s just depressing to see people complain and not be over the moon after having seen their idol in concert. There are people who have seen him come out of a shop and still cherish that day forever.

What? Of course they can. It's just at this point, it's so incredibly boring you probably should get your own little club to shout into space about it. One bizarro world user said MJ should be dead rather than lip sync the tour? What?

The interlude videos were too long and so was the intro video. It's not immune to criticism. Nothing is. We know why he did it, and he still put on a damn good show. Some of the posts in here about it have been outright disgusting & to be honest, pathetic. He still put on one hell of a show & it's a shame you can't enjoy it.

This. People act like MJ murdered small families. No. He mimed some songs because of health & wanting it to sound like the CD.

It's not new for MJ, and it's not new for the industry. Go watch some boring guitar singer stand still for 90 mins instead. MJ was so much more than that.

It is a never ending discussion and I will not get into it again from now on, it is futile, there are 2 camps and that will never change. Some are bothered by miming, some are not.
Luckily there are concerts to be enjoyed for both camps.
The only downside is if you are in the pro live singing camp there is not a lot to enjoy because almost nothing has been leaked
 
What a bunch of BS. I've been to 4 of them. It was great, had a blast. Its about the performance he gives, so he lipsync a lot. so what. who doesnt. I see people lip sync and give a shit show with it. At least he gave us a show. Night after night. You had to be there to feel the energy. I can say a whole lot more but I better shut up.

Fun fact about happines: it is actually subjective and may not even be real or exist as an actual concept...well just like Michael's live vocals from that period,anyways
 
Man In The Mirror is my favourite MJ song and it is also one of my favourites live. It is a shame that there isn’t a single live performance of the song where Michael sang it entirely live.

Good point Lin. All these people complaining here, wonder how many of them actually went to a concert and were 'disappointed'! Or they are just couch critics, reading and watching stuff online and just 'imagining' how disappointing it is was 😂

Someone needs to add the live dangerous rehearsal vocals and replace a mimed live performance. Or not I don’t know lol

I was at a History show with my Dad and 2 brothers, the atmosphere was electric, dancing on point and Michael seemed in great form, I wasn't aware of the lip syncing at the time and this was before YouTube so I presume Michael thought if not officially released no one would see the shows

I know Michael had health issues so looking back I think he was giving an in person reenactment of his videos

I was a kid, the first one was a surprise present and was very fun obviously being stupid and all I didn't fully realize he wasn't singing though I remember thinking wow he sounds exactly the same lol
My father though is just a casual person and not a fan but he wanted to see it again so I tagged along a 2nd time. so what I want to say is that he definitely never realized he wasn't singing as he only knows his songs from the radio.
It would not be a big deal for him either, he doesn't care. It is like I said in the earlier post, there are 2 camps...

Many concerts were shown on TV in many countries.

Dangerous rehearsals are only available in horrible audio quality, it would clash with everything else... unless i also made everything else low quality, but at that point you might as well listen to the original rehearsal lol
