Hitsdailydouble is in FINAL and doesn't appear at all on the chartlist. I wonder how Billboard's chart will be...

^^ Unfortunately, this is not surprising given the lousy promotion following the APWNN "release". I put release in quotes because I would hardly classify their lukewarm support of this single both within the US and abroad as a proper effort. Pathetic.

We should keep in mind that this weeks chart is impacted by the VMA's along with several new release. Beyonce, for example, finished 13 with 15k units this week. Last week she was not in the top 50. Also, the lowest album on the top 50 sold 5.1k which is in indication that overall sales were a bit higher than usual i believe. I suspect that Xscape finished just outside of the top 50. Hopefully the Billboard results will be a bit better

Chart News @chartnews · 39 Min.

Billboard 200: #62 @MichaelJackson, Xscape 4,945 (417,273 total).

US fans: keep streaming A Place With No Name video on youtube. Create a playlist with 50 x A Place With No Name videos and play it whenever your computer is on (that's what I did, but my views don't count). Streaming counts on Billboard charts!

Also don't forget to request the song on US radio stations (non US fans can help also).

Fans can also influence chart position via twitter

For a tweet to influence the real-time charts, it must include one or more of the following:

  • A link to a song via a music-listening platform, such as Spotify, Vevo or iTunes.
  • A “track sharing notation,” such as the hashtags “#nowplaying” or “#np,” along with a song title and the artist’s name.
  • Any of several terms associated with songs and song playing, such as “music,” “song,” “track” and “listen.”

By simply measuring data that was already being shared on Twitter, Billboard is now able to offer fans up-to-the-minute analysis of what’s popular in music. But how will fans respond to their newfound ability to influence the previously sales-and-stream-driven charts without emptying their wallets or hitting repeat again and again?

Perhaps even more importantly, now that musicians know that earning the distinction of being a “Billboard chart-topping artist” is just one well-organized social media campaign away, how will they respond?

A quick glance at the current top 10 on the Trending 140 chart reveals a litany of familiar names — Maroon 5, Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea — implying that that chart is thus far simply reflecting the music that can already be found on the Hot 100. Anyone outside the mainstream music bubble will have a tough time competing with the massive social media followings of these artists, who are frequently backed by major labels and their teams of social media professionals.

One question, does it matter what country I’m from? I’m far from US so will these tweets influence somehow on anything?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I think it`s only USA-related.

Xscape has sold 143k in the UK so far, as well as selling 100k in Germany and France. A few thousand away from 100k in Japan as well. Shouldn't be too far off going Platinum in the US either.

First it has to reach gold in US (500000), which will take time. Last week it reached 417,273 total in US.

It is already Gold, just not recognized as such. RIAA works differently from Soundscan. The Michael album went Platinum with less than 500k sold in retail. Blood On The Dance Floor with even less. The Estate/Sony are probably waiting for it to go Platinum, which means it also automatically get Gold.

Now also a certified 100k seller in Japan... And finally, Love Never Felt So Good is a certified Platinum seller in the US, for having sold 1 million copies. This means it probably has sold around 2 million worldwide, based on a Billboard article stating 48% of MJs single sales are inside the US.
