I have not seen a green cover of the Xscape album. Is that a Japan-exclusive edition?

Billboard Hot 200

96 (100) Xscape
130 (145) Thriller
131 (141) The Essential Michael Jackson

All 3 albums went up few places!

It's not green. It's gold digipack edition with the poster. Colors just look a bit weird on this Japan picture because of the flash.

Thanks for the info.

I have yet to see RIAA update its website showing that Xscape has been certified. Was the Gold-announcement an "in-house"-award given by Sony or even the Estate?

Epic tweeted it
Epic Records @Epic_Records · Sep 19
It's official! @MichaelJackson's #XSCAPE is certified GOLD! Pick up your copy on @iTunesMusic! http://smarturl.it/XSCAPE
------------------

I don't think you'll see update on their website until the end of the month.
This lists is the latest and it shows LNFSG has platinium single status
http://riaa.com/media/C0BA6DD1-CBDD-ADFF-640D-FF2E63E89351.pdf
so I think in September list we'll see the albums gold status.

Does anyone know what the last number 2 means?

If this is the latests for Xscape sold in US, why the same Chart News posted this a week ago?

US certifications (@RIAA): @michaeljackson, Xscape Gold (500,000).

I guess the 427,000 number is based on Nielsen Soundscan data, but it does not cover every outlet so it can be 500,000. Or 500,000 means the copies that were shipped.

OT:

The German chartshow will have a Michael Jackson spezial. The recording of the show is on novembre 10th in Cologne. You ca buy tickets her.
https://tvtickets.de/info.php?show=dcs

I think it will air soon later after that date. Chartshow is airing fridays on RTL, so a mayor sender amd a prime time.

Yes the gold certification is via RIA, they are counting shipped albums

Nice he's still in the Top 10, but in 2 or 3 weeks Sam Smith will take over the 9th place. Can you post 11-20 places?

So candidates for knocking Xscape out of Top 10 for now are: Imagine Dragons and possibly Lana Del Rey. Please Epic records invest little more in promotion - 2 MIL would be an amazing success.

Xscape is the fourth biggest selling album released in 2014 in 2014. I'll let you process that... Okay.

True, some of these were released in 2013

1. "Frozen" OST - 5,925,000 (2013)
2. "Ghost Stories" Coldplay - 2,655,000
3. "Beyoncé" Beyoncé - 2,084,000 (2013)
4. "X" Ed Sheeran - 1,780,000

Onir, you concentrate speculating who possible knocks Xscape out of top 10, but you have to remember that Xscape still sells and soon starts knocking out other albums:D

I'm realistic. Xscape sold 13,000 this week and 15,000 last week (it was outside of Top 40 for 2 weeks!). Sam Smith is selling more than 70,000 per week, Lana Del Rey 20,000 per week (both still in Top 40). And Katy Perry is first time this week outside of Top 40, but she is still selling more than Xscape.

Pretty close to Katy Perry, lets hope he scores at least this one. He owes her that :)

He won't unless something changes drastically, like 3rd single, some awards show, massive radio airplay of APWNN, remixes or just better promotion. Katy Perry is selling more than Xscape for 3rd week in a row. Also I don't think they count album sales outside of Top 40 for this chart, just for end of the year chart.

I agree with you. Sales are unlikely to have a massive increase the way things stand. Personally I'm expecting a special edition released in a couple of months for a final boost from the Christmas market. Nothing major, just the standard 8 tracks of 2014 mixes plus LNFSG with JT (which was only on the deluxe version) and possibly Xscape with 2Pac.
