Nope. XtraJet hasn't existed for some time now, similar to the way Universal Express went belly-up shortly after the mess that was the Jackson-protested memorabilia auction. :cool:

Too bad Michael had to drop out of his portion of the XtraJet civil case due to the criminal trial...

Geragos remained true to his word from November 26, 2003:

GERAGOS: I believe we'll put XtraJet out of business for this outrageous act. Anybody who's connected with it, we will put and seek to do everything else to put them out of business.

Having to pay Mark is one thing, BUT to have lost their business is HUGE.

I would guess that at one time, XtraJet probably did a good business by carrying RICH PEOPLE, here there & everywhere. Now they have no business and will probably never be able to get another XtraJet type business off the ground again.

They lost BIG TIME!

Borer and a co-defendant pleaded guilty in 2006 to conspiracy for installing digital cameras aboard an XtraJet plane that flew Jackson from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara.
The damages awarded Monday resulted from an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit.
Jackson was acquitted in the molestation case.

so whos right? lol id be even more gutted if its 12 mill and mark wont see a dime cause the companys gone under unless theres other ways to get the money. even though i doubt they have it anyway and gutted for mj that he could have made so much, half the ranch debt

I can't believe the lawyer of XtraJet has the nerve to try to appeal this. These guys did wrong. And they need to face the consequences. Period.

TMZ will have the documents posted shortly, so we'll know the real figures soon enough. Geragos had only asked for a couple million last year, so whichever figure is right, the judge awarded him at least as much as he wanted.

So, Rashida Jones, the daughter of Quincy Jones the man who helped create the masterpiece Thriller wants to call a man that she ( I am assuming) and her sister adored as an "American tragedy"? I thought she knew him better than that. Then for her and TV Guide to compare MJ to the trainwreck of the decade Britney Spears shows their stupidy. Her new show is terrible and she will never be a leading lady. Pathetic. These people are all the same.

I don't think she is saying that MJ's personal life is a tragedy though. I think she is saying that the way in which the media has hunted him down and have been baying for his blood is a tragedy, very much like how Princess Diana's brother called the hunting down of Diana by the media a tragedy. It is the ill will towards MJ and the pressure they put on him that is the tragedy, not him personally. And to a certain extent that is just what happened to britney too.

It's another lawyer who I believe worked with him on the case; I know that Brian J. Kabateck was representing him, and he had also asked the judge to consider up to $18 million in punitive damages. So, by that account the $12 million figure could indeed be correct, I tend to believe AP over TMZ anyways, until they post the court documents.

BTW am i the only one who gets the willies lol when i see breaking news on the main discussion page then u r really nervous until the actual thread comes up with the info in. breaking news always makes me think its bad

Attorney Mark Geragos won a personal judgment in the XtraJet case that could qualify him to buy Neverland if it goes up for auction.

According to the order, the people responsible for illegally taping Geragos' conversations with Michael Jackson the day ***** surrendered to face molestation charges must pay him $2 million in compensatory damages and $8 million in punitive damages. Those punitive damages are only against Jeffrey Borer, the former owner of the jet company and the now bankrupt company itself.

But Geragos may want to hold on to his wallet, the lawyers for Borer says he will appeal.

I just researched a little, the original case was actually filed by Geragos, Pat Harris, and Michael Jackson. Pat Harris is an associate of Geragos' and is presumably the other half of these winnings.

Michael dropped out of this case in April 2005 so he isn't legally entitled to any of it.
