If someone gets a quote of his speech please do post it,very amazing.
 
best speech in the world, he told the truth and dared to speak the truth to the media, well done deserve an medal or award alone:p great stuff and moving memorial.
 
Why do I have this strange feeling that Al Sharpton hasn't always supported MJ throughout his life.

Can anybody vouch for me on this one?
 
Got to give it up for the REV....he said THAT....I was at work watching it and I almost shouting when he said....

Aint nothing strange about your dad...it is strange how the world treated him....(something to that effect)

it was the way he said it....with so much conviction......WOW....I love it when he speaks the TRUTH....

I also really liked the end, when he said, 'thank you Michael, for getting up when you were kicked, thank you for dancing through the critics' etc etc
 
Here he is again. On watching again, you can see the suprise on his face when he said, 'your daddy wasn't strange, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with.' I don't think he was expecting the reaction he got mid speech.

ive always been proud to be an MJ fan....but my goodness Rev Sharpton hammered it home for me
 
It was a good and powerful speech, but he was wrong on one count. Do they Know It's Christmas by Band Aid came out the year before We Are The World, so you can't go re-writing history and depriving Sir Bob Geldof of his credit where its due.

The message to Michael's children was 100% true. Wonderful speech.
 
Al Sharp was really on point, just think of Michael's everyday life, going to doctor being followed by crowds of ppl, no one would be able to handle that. Great job Al The Kings and that Sheila Lee woman was awesome also.
 
There were some great speeches today -- Berry Gordy, Rep. Lee, the Kings, and Al Sharpton among them. It felt good to have those things acknowledged.

i don't think he was referring to USA for Africa, i think he meant Michael in general was helping the world and Africa before Bob Geldoff and Live Aid made the rest of the world aware of the plight of Africans...MJ was already doing it.

i believe it was God's grace that inspired Rev Al Sharpton and enabled him to put it all into perspective, while -if i got it right from CNN, an estimated 2.5 billion people around the world were watching. He painted the true picture of Michael, notwithstanding his human weaknesses. This is the MESSAGE that the world should remember.
 
Sharpton tore it up! I really liked that he emphasized how Michael broke down racial barriers. I think many of us (meaning in the general public, not fans) take it for granted.
 
Rev Al did me proud today!! He spoke nothing but the truth, and when he talked to those kids and Paris got up, I can only imagine how that place erupted because I was on my feet at home
