Michael had already told us it was his mother's jacket. My memory is sketchy, but I think he said it in Moonwalk. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

janet doing a loving interview about MJ in a magazine after he's been buried is VERY different to Marlon selling "funeral secrets" about a private family funeral (including wig details) to a TABLOID.. knowing his worlds will be twisted and made more salacious (but thats why he gets the big money, cos you have to accept the headline selling your soul to a horrible tabloid).. its very different to joe holding press conferences to promote his record label, its very different to jermaine putting on a concert where its unclear what exact proportion of proceeds go to charity and ticket prices are ridiculously high given the act list is still so uncertain

I haven't watched TV either :no: all the news I get are from MJ forums, it's not good for my blood pressure to see how the media treats him
I knew she split from Jermaine, I was sure of that...they never seemed like a real couple, and Michael's death must've pushed her to see the real priorities in life
I really really hope she learned something from Michael and she adopts kids she never showed maternal instincts so far, but I would love to see her a mother

this is a great interview, very comforting. we get insight, but not so much that i feel like i'm intruding into their lives.

but some of us are disgusted by family members actions, such as selling "funeral secrets" to a tabloid

it's a good interview but I hate how they make it out to be more than it is "Janet to reveal all about MJ's death!!" uuuuh hold on to your seats this is gonna be shocking, tell-all interview!
damn media trying to sell their papers taking advantage of someone's tragedy

and I still don't agree with what she says, that Michael was a fantasy to us and we can't possibly feel any pain. yes we never met him but that doesn't mean we don't love him and we're not shaken devastated heartbroken by this. we fans we supported him through thick and thin and we put up with a lot of crap, we're not "the general public"
I like more what jermaine said about fans in that french interview, as much as he annoys me sometimes he and michael we're much more alike

there are ways to make the money though arent there?? selling "funeral secrets" to a tabloid and such things.. the very same paper who said your brother was taking hormone supressing drugs as he needed to supress urges for young boys...making the public think this was probably true if the family are now choosing this paper to reveal their deepest thoughts!! NICE

It's strange, that's for sure! I don't understand it either. How can someone who loved him from afar think their relationship would hold a candle to that of a family member? The family loved him as a brother and son. They had a *personal* relationship with him that the fans didn't have. And Michael knew and LOVED his family members, regardless of any differences they may've had. Michael was all about LOVE, so I too find it disturbing to see the unadulterated HATRED that is thrown around towards his family members. :cry:

I don't know about the concert, but do you have PROOF that Marlon sold "funeral secrets" to a tabloid?

With all the crap that was always put out there about Michael, I would want to be 100% sure about believing something they are now saying about a family member of his.

I appreciate your response but I did not mis-understand. I'm 36, I've been a MJ fan for as along as I can remember. I just think there are some .... very young minded, over-zealous opinions here that - can come off offensively and pompous ..and it could just be that a lot of the fans are young and dont know how to properly express their opinions and can come off sounding insensative to the family memembers. Bottom line is, being a fan will never replace being an actual family member. Imagine someone off the street telling you how to mourn your brother...because they idolized your brother and they dont feel youre doing it the way they would. I know that some of Michaels family members could have done things differently, but ill never place myself in the position of higher regard because at the end of the day, Im a fan of Michaels, a friend in the head...but he is not my brother, cousin, uncle, nephew - so Im not going to criticise about what Latoya or Jermain is doing. They have to live with those decisions, not me. Not to say we shouldnt voice our opinions on it....but some of the fans here, just seem to think how they feel about it is more important and that they are respecting Michael in a way that is unparalled and unmatched when in truth they are trying to speak for Michael, just as much as Jermain may be.

Anyway - great interview by Janet. She's amazing. I dont like seeing her getting hated on, which she was in this thread by people that hadnt even read anything.

It could just be Im used to a little more maturity. :doh:

how is she getting hated on? so stupid to throw words like that nobody's "hating on her", as if we don't have enough negativity already with the media
the only thing they were questioning was selling interviews to tabloids, the very thing that destroyed Michael's life, but then again why should we give our opinion we're just stupid pathetic fans and we think we're better than his family

Thats exactly my point snowhite, we DONT need the extra negativity - but have you read some of the things fans have been saying about the family and what they arent reading and what this one has done and that one has done? THATS the negativity I'm talking about.

For some reason you chose to take my post personaly, maybe it struck a chord, I have no idea. I wasnt speaking about you specifically, why you may have thought so is up to your own interpretation. Im here to support Michael, bottom line - this is not a popularity contest for me, but I loath reading these attacks on the family members - what youre talking about is something I wasnt even referring to.

Janet would never sell a selacious interview to the tabloids. Never.

And there was much more deviciveness than that of selling tabloids that contributed to Michael's death - but we wont get into that here. As Michael fans - we know better than to be "tabloid junkies" and I think we can expect nothing less of Janet. She is the topic of this thread.

Anyway....God bless the family, loved ones and friends of Michael....

Too bad that Janet and JD broke up. I loved his youtube videos. They were so cute totegher in those videos. And look at JD´s tattoo of Janet. Its gorgeous!

Janet brought tears to my eyes. I thought it was a sweet interview and a very kind light she shed on Michael. I knew that she would not do a tell-all. It's not her style for one, second, she and Michael have always been close.

I do hate the fact that some people feel the need to attack Janet like I've read in this post. She's never done anything wrong. I can understand Latoya after the deceitful things she's done and said over the years. And yes, it does seem some of the brothers are using this to boost their own popularity. Who will ever know their true intentions but them? It's not our place to judge it. Whatever goes on behind closed doors is between the Jackson family.

It is sad that she and JD broke up after 7 years. I think she had said once that 'he's the one' but didn't think that getting married was important to them.

I suspected something was off when I didn't hear anything from JD about Michael and then he wasn't at the public memorial. He just didn't look like he was supporting her. It's weird too because they had gone to an event together a few weeks before Michael died and looked happy. But haven't they been off and on through the years also?

Sadly, I think he couldn't handle her family and everything that comes with that. Janet has tried to distance herself from her family in the past (just like Michael), but when she is needed or if there is a crisis, she puts family first and goes back to them no matter what.

I hope Janet finds love again someday. I am sure she will because she is a wonderful woman.

I don't see the negative in Janet doing an interview like this - however, I have not read it yet. Assuming though that she portrays Michael as the wonderful, kind, humble man he was, and does it convincingly, the only thing that interview can do is generate more positive feelings about Michael worldwide. Harper's Bazaar is a very popular magazine, and I bet a good percentage of the people buying it are Michael-haters or at least ignorant - thus easily affected by all the tabloid junk. I really hope Janet makes a strong case for Michael's innocence and kindness, and that at the end of the day, a few more people can see Michael for who he really was. He deserves every opportunity to clear his name.
