Let's talk about this amazing movie! (SPOILERS!)

omg omg...More has come back to me..I sound like one of those mind readers with a crystal ball lol

But there is a big where michael jackson was SKATTING!!!!! It was in the way you make me feel bit where he was instructing the keyboards...He is a skat man!

And there is a bit where MJ SHOOTS SOMEONE !...He looked GOOOOD with a gun and he shot it like a gangster i tell ya

And yes I wonder about the end clips in the credits...A fair bit was missed out i tell you...

And there is a bit where MJ SHOOTS SOMEONE !...He looked GOOOOD with a gun and he shot it like a gangster i tell ya

Yep. That was John Tobin playing Humphrey Bogart.

John told me they used real Bogart interlaced with him and Mike through amazing 2d and green screen technology. He was Bogart when Michael kicked the boxes at him in the staircase scene where Bogie shoots at Mike.

Congrats...I am usually v good with the whole impersonator thing..But I thought snippets of a boggy film were used and not an impersonator..I have to say, yuo are very convincing sir

That was the most creative new video by far..Great structue and created a story to a concert performance...From the beginning and the chase..to the end and the jumping out of the window..I always thought the windown bit would come at the beginning of the song for some reason

Anyone realise there was no lean in the performance..I was hoping to see it but never happened

Also did everyone like the bit where the dancers were getting taught how to jump out 'OF THE TOASTER' LOOOL...It is alot more difficult than it looks...I am amazed mj never fell over...I mean you are higgh in the air lol

Another note..One reason this tour would have been epic was that each song now had a sotry behind it thanks to these videos that were put on before hand...In other tours he was basically just performing them and no structure or story behind them in terms of how the videos were made..But this has a homage/new take on sc...A nice look and feel to twymmf...Heal the world with the crane coming out in a differnt way at the end...A brand new thriller 3d that lokoed great even without the glasses...There was just a nice story behind more of the performances..

O ok..that makes sense..the bit where he turned and you see hump..I thought it was definately him and it was lol..But yea the rest was a double

I think you did. I actually thought that was the real Humphrey Bogart in the movie, but I guess it was you. My gosh....you really really pull off a fantastic Bogie.

Like I said in my latest pm, what was it like to meet the man, Michael Jackson?

I can't quit remember..I don't think it was but..when mj is by the window and kicks the trash can i think ..That isn't at humph surely...No it was some goon im suree..Still that bit was funny...

That part reminded me a bit of yrmw when he meets brando

It was right before he smashes through the window. Great scene. All of that Smooth Criminal footage was amazing.

You know, I was, I was wonderin' if you could keep on
because the force, its got a lot of power
you make me feel like, you make me feel like..
Whooooooooooooooooooooooo!:dancin::punk::clapping::wild:

Yeah. I'm pretty sure there were no MJ doubles at all.

Mike still had it, yall. He still had it.

Can't believe he's gone.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the whole film! It was mind-blowing...obviously all the songs were top notch, but the point that really stood out for me was the "Threatened" jam after Thriller...man!!! the recorded version sounds good...but DAMN!!! the live version sounded outstanding! I'm not sure why that stuck out so much for me...I was just really grooving with that baseline...anyone else have that experience!?

I have a question is this like a concert .. u know like the bucharest concert or history tour .. a dvd that u can play like a concert or is it more a documentary/movie ?

1 hour and 20 minutes til the movie starts for me ! :D excited as hell lol

It's a documentary/concert hybrid similar to U2's 1988 movie "Rattle and Hum".

When the dvd comes out, in addition to enjoying the movie in it's current form, I plan on making an edit of the film so it's just the concert and I'll probably add crowd noise to it.

Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

Just some things I noticed while watching:

1) the obvious: michael looked and sounded amazing. It really made me wonder if he was planning on doing MOST of the show live rather than playback? He sounded better than ever, and moved just like he always did. Yes, he was thin, but he was always a tiny guy (like me!). Hard to imagine he would be gone only a few days later.

2) the sync: SOMETIMES the sync was off. this was either because there was very clearly playback (thriller for one), or because audio was taken from a different day (be it one full performance or a compilation of a few) than the video (billie jean is a good example of this). This COULD be used by critics against the film, but quite frankly I dont care. it wasn't too annoying to bother me, and im sure most people wouldn't even notice.

3) the 3D (or lack thereof): the 3d bits would have been SO COOL in 3D. it looked like a lot of work went into those segments. hopefully we will see them in 3D one day.

4) earth song: at the end it sounded like the original falsetto demo version was being used for michael's big ending, rather than a live recording, or the original master version. I found this kind of strange, but interesting. I always did like that falsetto ending so to hear it like that was kinda cool.

5) the band: MAN! They were so tight. I really wish the CD featured their performances (even if it was with michael singing live, or just the acapella tracks over top). The new arrangements they used for some songs (notably smooth criminal and jam) were off the hook. they never sounded better (jam especially - it went from sounding like a cliché new jack swing tune to an actual pop classic).

6) his moves: yes he looked tired here and there (and can you blame him!?) but man, nobody moves like michael jackson. he still had it. there were moments when he just danced like no other (and put those young kids to shame! haha).

more to follow, it WAS pretty late when I watched so im sure i missed some stuff but man. what a film. simmering.

defdave it is people like you who do these wonderful selfless acts that make others feel privaledged and lucky..(Partly because we don't have to do the work lol)..I know it is not a fully selfless act because you want to see this as a concert too I am sure, but you don't have to make it and share it but you will anyway and I for one thank you in advance

I just wish sony/aeg would follow suit and release many extras of solid performances and not just in the film...I realise many of the songs would have been stop and start but give us more please...There are so many performances and surely many are fluid..grrr i hate them so much

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

One particular move that really stuck out for me was during Billie Jean, he does this gyrating move pretending to play a guitar and all the dancers were cheering him on, it was something I hadnt seen him do before, my eyes popped out my head, I loved it.

I have a question...

Do you see full song rehearsals and how many? Also....did anyone think 'omg, look at him, he's so thin...he's almost a skeletton?'

thank you.

I have a question is this like a concert .. u know like the bucharest concert or history tour .. a dvd that u can play like a concert or is it more a documentary/movie ?

yes and no... its more of a rehearsal than a concert. there are people stopping and starting, as well as behind the scenes planning. but there is PLENTY of performances (mixed with the video backdrops). in fact much more than i was expecting. there is maybe 15 minutes that doesn't have music playing.

so, is it a concert in the sense that its a show from start to finish for two hours with nothing but singing and dancing? no.

is it a concert in that there's lots of michael jackson performances? absolutely.

its very similar to the madonna "im going to tell you a secret" dvd... though i think This Is It features more performances.

Oh yeah! "I'll Feel It." That WAS great!

I want this on dvd right now! :)

I think when I get the dvd, I'm going to have 2 versions: First the one I buy and then I'll make an edited version containing only the performances and I'll try adding crowd noise into it to make it like a concert and less of a documentary. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this film as a documentary, but I think it'd be cool to also have it as a concert on the side. :)

Dave could you make me a copy with audience clapping screaming??? ill send you my addie on pm ok coool man

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

feel free to add to this, i'll continue to update the original post.

7) the aspect ratios: clearly its from differing cameras (likely HD versus Standard Def MiniDV). Not too annoying on a big screen, probably more noticeable on the DVD.

I hope that when the DVD comes out we'll see a few more songs/more footage.

what i would give for them to pull a NIN and post the stuff on torrents and allow fans to edit their own footage together.

i too will put together a special "concert" version which will have just the performances, but let me tell you, the film is so good you dont need to change much.

though like i said, for the dvd I wouldn't mind an EXTENDED version with even more goodies. but as a THEATRICAL version, it was the perfect length I think.

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

I think some of Thriller was Live too.

It was perfect!!!
