Let's talk about this amazing movie! (SPOILERS!)

Can anyone tell me what I missed after the credits?

Awh you shudda stayed! Michael is telling them he wants a pause during Human Nature and that he'll que the next bit. He says what he will do in that pause which is funny, like "Maybe I'll have little look around, maybe look over here or there, move my hands, snap my fingers...." :D

Funniest part was the air hostess thing! Michael is so good at doing the oxygen mask and emergency exit thingy hahahahaha! :D

Oh ok I thought so I just didn't remember if he was signing a bit of it at the end.

Man those concerts would have been AMAZING... I was really sad after watching it thinking damn I'll never get to see him live, but I got to at least see the film so I'm content for now.

When Threatened came on I was SO EXCITED ....made me want more Invincible tracks done live...can you imagine Unbreakable live?? Or You Rock My World on a tour that he was actually happy with, not like the 30th Anniversary Celebration.

OMG, did you see Michael gyrating his hips when Threatened came on!!! I was dancing in my chair with him! :)

YES I noticed like come on Mike sing sing! It looked as if he was ready to bust out with "You should feel threatened by me!"

Also....did anyone think 'omg, look at him, he's so thin...he's almost a skeletton?'
i didint think omg cause ive seen the pics but ive never seen him looking as skinny as that and wonder how the heck he would have looked after 50 shows after the amount of weight he loses during each show. i took my mum along and asked her her opinion as a outsider so to speak. she thought the same.there was no width to him at all. when i think of what he looked like duringthe history in his goldsuit.if only we had got to see one show

someone mentioned seeing heal the world ortega said in a interview that they never got to rehearse it. they were gonna do it in london cause they needed a choir same with We are the world and dirty diana was gonna happen after the 25th.

and yeah threatened sounded great live. great melody and base

it was... it was like touring. when u are on an mj-concert. the feeling. really. a bit different, cause its an rehearsal, not that 100.000 people, screaming, and a Michael Jackson with 70%. but i got that feeling i got on tour. i missed that feeling. and i'm so happy to got that feeling a last one more time.
that was great. absolutely. to see the king ... creating.
can you imagine what the world missed with this show? shit!, that was so big. full of perfection, greatness. so amazing. the coreography of the earlier tours, bad, dangerous, history are similar. but always some changes. but these coreographies are much more different, special, and surprising. the whole thing together is so special. its a shame the world wasnt able to see this.

Anyone Else Having Conflicting Feelings??

Well I've got conflicting feelings about this documentary.

Was it a treat to see this last performance of the King? Absolutely! But...

On one hand, it was absolutely wonderful to watch Michael doing what he loves to do which is perform, but on the other hand, this film was for his personal collection. I feel like, Mike -being the perfectionist he is- would have hated to know that this -rehearsal- was being shown WORLDWIDE. Mike would ONLY give 110% in his performances to the world and nothing less. I agree with one poster who said he was giving 10% (in the eyes of the fans) and to others, this was probably 90%.

What also is giving me pain is his thin body. Then to top that off with the rigorous dancing and to only imagine having to go get a good night's rest feeling incredibly sore? Sigh* I just truly hate to have to remember Mike looking that thin. I wonder if they had Michael doing the yoga and pilates that they had the dancers do throughout the show. I felt like an overprotective sister that only wanted him to be at a healthy weight. I could have only wished to be that close in his life to get him a health guru to put on some healthy weight and muscle and eat only the best, healthy organic foods and green veggie drinks.

Also, the crowd in my theater in NYC wasn't helpful either as some were giggling at certain scenes where Mike appeared to have some effeminate moves (the part where he's wearing the black blazer with the pointy shoulder pads and he was dancing in front of the keyboardist). This was making me upset as folks were laughing because all I could think of was that this man was in the zone, living and breathing his music and interpreting it exactly how he feels it. I loved that but apparently people are too immature and ignorant to realize the fluidity of movement that he was able to do (that also transcends gender) and at 50!

That overprotective sister feeling came over me again as I really did not want these folks in the theater to experience such personal footage of Mike except for the true fans like us. Sigh* Maybe next time I'll try to find a ton of MJ fans in nyc and go with them. I also got a feeling of hate towards AEG as I sensed a small feeling of greed and them not being too concerned with the health of their star performer. 50 dates of shows??? The rigorous rehearsals looked exhausting enough! I wished they would've cut down the amount of shows, but then again I wished for a lot of things. The main one being to have our MJ back, the second being off with the head of that damn Doctor.

On a side note, did anyone see that HORRID review done by the NYpost? They are pure evil.

This is just my opinion of the film. If you disagree, please say so and we can discuss our concerns without going into heated arguments. We can agree to disagree.

back in march/april ortega etc were saying there was gonna be a dvd reelase of rehearsals and the whole process upto i presume the concert being included.sothis wasntsomething they justthought up after the 25th but then u hear ortega saying the opposite so theres conflicting reports.

yeah.. this was only the rehearsals and still it was so good! It's so sad we will never experience what it would've been like when Michael gave 1000% to it..

But I must say, I'm happy that they taped the rehearsals. It was wonderful to see Michael on stage. That will probably be the closest I'll get to being in a Michael Jackson concert.

I'm sad but happy at the same time.

There was some strange pointing moves alright but i can only assume this was just for rehearsals because some of them didn't really look good, that's not criticism now i was like you and i was wondering what non fans would think looking at these moves.

What surprised you about the movie ( happily or sadly)

I was happily surprised to see a few snippets of songs creep in..Threatened, bad, Mj doing spanish for ijcsly...Mj skatting lol...the endings to songs like thriller and twymmf

Surprised to also see not many spins..Mj always did lots of spins but there were more side glides than spins..I counted and was like , ok he is gliding more than spinning..Not natural lol...He did seem to spin different too

Sadly surpried to see moments in credits not making the cut...They teased up! Shwoing them and not even putting them in...

That was absolutely the best thing I've ever seen! I wanna go again and I can't wait for the DVD!

Did anyone else notice the club in the Smooth Criminal Dome video was called "Break O' Dawn"?

Loved the cherry picker moment, people laughed in our cinema. Grateful that they showed Michael's funny/cute side.

Thriller in 3D probably would have freaked me out...a lot.

YES I noticed like come on Mike sing sing! It looked as if he was ready to bust out with "You should feel threatened by me!"

The beat of threatened really got me going, does anyone know if he was going to sing any of it and what about speechless, just perfect, ah he should have done unbreakable.

if you dont watch this film soon you must be stupid

this is best i have ever seen, it gave me energy!

Yeah, I doubt Threatened was going to be sung with such a small excerpt, just the snippet was enough to make me insane with delight!!! Speechless was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! It was like he was the CD! Vocally PERFECT!

just came back from seeing it and i cant wait to see it again! Michael doing that slow crotch move during billie jean...OMG, and i liked the new thriller video

WHAT CAN I SAY? I really dont know. This was so freakn awsome. Sorry, no words..

Re: What surprised you about the movie ( happily or sadly)

I was actually suprised how much energy he had, now i think it's fair to say he wasn't up to his usual standard but at his age it would be close to impossible to move like he did in the ninety's. I was suprised with the bit of speechless he done. it was class.

I came back from watching This Is It a little over an hour ago. I'm really glad I went. I was so amazed they'd taken the film into the repertoire of my local cinema. Originally I was certain they wouldn't. The cinema was nowhere near sold out but at least me and hubby weren't the only people present. I didn't even expect there to be a big rush for tickets. They are having more than one showing every night after all. We attended the second showing of the night.

I started to tear up a little at the beginning -- and realized I had forgot to bring tissues. Mostly I managed to enjoy the film so much. I too loved seeing Michael prepare for what would have been his grand comeback. I absolutely loved most of the footage. Favourites were Thriller and Earth Song. When the J5 meddley started, I actually had a crazy grin on my face for a while. The dancers were great too. Michael looked fine to me. I was so happy to see that, as I've been a bit apprehensive. I feel Michael was really getting into the performance and I'm sure it would have been amazing!

Hubby was impressed by Michael's ear (how he was able to visualize all notes and stuff exactly the way he wanted them to sound etc.) and how he utilized his whole body in performance. He is a non-fan but he too felt it was worth going to see the movie.

All in all, I'm so happy I was able to enjoy the movie properly, though some sadness was there naturally. Mainly I managed to appreciate Michael's genius and just go with the flow of the movie. It left me feeling elated and I'm sure that's what Michael would have wanted. After all, he wanted to bring us love and hope.

Re: Anyone Else Having Conflicting Feelings??

I have some conflicting feelings that I dont think I'll ever know the truth about. Im not sure if Michael was holding back on some performances due to them being rehearsals, or because he was actually struggling to keep up. Im trying not to dwell on this for now, and just enjoy what I saw, and I did enjoy it so much more than I thought I would. By and large Michael amazed me.

And I have always felt that Michael being a perfectionist would probably find many elements that he wouldnt like about this movie. Still, its the closest we have to actually living the show live, it would've been his best show yet, thats a certainty.

pitty you have looked how skinny he was or not, so you missed how AMAZING this movie is, anyway.

Just came back from the movies here in sweden ... omg thank u god, thank u michael .. the band and kenny ortega. this was amazing .. I felt the tears coming when they played "Man in the mirror" dont know why ... ahaa

AMAZING MOVIE AND IM SO HAPPY THEY SHOWED US HIS MAGIC ONCE AGAIN.

Best part of the whole movie has to be I JUST CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU, his voice is excellent here and it's so funny when he gets annoyed about singing at full strength plus i like the way she is staring at him at the end and he has to tell her to face the crowd.

I just need to see that movie again! (I hope with less silly people talking loud or laughing when MJ says "I love you" or rustle with popcorn ... yuk, I didn't need that

Does anyone know WHY Michael didn't tour with Invincible?

I'm not sure if this is the right answer but, everyone thought that Invincible was not successful. I don't think sony wanted to invest money in a tour. So it just didn't happen.

Re: Anyone Else Having Conflicting Feelings??

In this short thread I read one reason why Michael couldn't be never satisfied, BECAUSE OF HIS FANS WOULD NOT BE NEVER SATISFIED WITH THAT WHAT HE IS DOING!!!!! Moves I don't know, God's sake.

He couldn't dare to do something new, because the fans wouldn't like it. There is a scene in the movie when Michael told the musician to repeat one part again and again, because THEY should get it like THEY know it already, it should sound like on the CD. That is saying it all. Poor Michael, yes he was under pressure from several sides.

Having tickets to the concert for the 19th August 2009, I had never thought I’d find myself going to watch the rehearsal footage insead at the O2.

“This is it” The irony kills me…But what a movie it is. So simple in a fact that its edited together in such a way that don’t make it to long yet i could have sat there and just watched MJ forever.

I don’t know what to say really. I mean I was quite excited for it but watching it has upset me a bit more to know the world lost the greatest performer yet an amazing human being to.

The concert would have been epic. From Fireworks, to amazing 3D special effects. The creativity of MJ and the crew was just amazing it would have been the most amazing comeback for him.

I can’t say which performance stood out the most. Thriller would have been amazing with the 3d effects. Billy jean also and black and white, Earth song… see i really can’t choose! Every single performance we watched had something in it that would make you go wow. I Laughed at MJ and his controlling behavior he really wanted this to be a show for his fan and wow it so would have been.

As the credits rolled and we saw a small recap normally this is the bit where you get out, but we sat there listening to the music only to be surprised by his children been given credit too which was very touching. The best bit was when everyone in the cinema gave an applause like we were watching the concert live.

Some bits made me laugh, others shocked me with the skill and creativity in it, and other bits just made me cry.

Its an amazing movie, the concert would have been legendery and the main message MJ wanted to give out from his concerts was….

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W61Q-EZ8R7M
And that message should be carried on… We only got it from the movie but i really hope people take it on.

Like MJ once said

“If you want to make the world a better place look at yourself and make a change”

His Legacy will live on….

RIP Michael Jackson...

From my blog..

just wow!
