WDIGM 2 will open at number...

I wish I could see it too but I haven't even seen the first one yet

Well I'm surprised I expected it to be on #1, it's a Tyler Perry film after all and dude's got a huge following

I'm glad Janet is not number one. I wish she'd stayed behind THE GHOST WRITER.

Action films generally are more popular than love/dating types of movies.

Its actually predicted to open at 30 million, not 27 million. That's really good for the budget it had and the fact that the movie isn't released in many theaters nor internationally.

Im going to see clash of the titans, that looks great !!
Not interested, the original version was boring, lol. I don't really care for that sword & scorcery type of thing. But I did like the Hercules & Xena TV shows.

I think everybody knew it wasn't going to be number 1 even Tyler said that on TOm Joynor. clash of the Titans is guess suppose to be one of thoes blockbusters action type films. plus it's in 3d, and the ticket prices for 3d movies are higher. second with 30 million is good.

Besides the first WDIGM was predicted to open at, I believe 5th spot but it ended up taking the #1 spot with 20 million. WDIGM2 racked in 13 million just from the premiere yesterday. So you never know this time around. Clash of the Titans is getting poor reviews anyway. I hope it flops

yep and they were predicting this for 4th behind last song and and how to train your dragon , so they deffitnly underestimated and yep lol they just gave clash of the Titans like 1/12 star but the problem is nobody really cares about the acting in thoes type of fims it's all about the fights and action, I heard kinda of mixed reviews about WDIGMT, but that's mostly because I hate to say it but Tyler's lack of skills as a director, but Janet's perfomace in the movie is getting good reviews.

This is great. The trade papers are saying that it may top his previous highest opening. Good for Tyler, a true entrepeneur! Loved the movie.

I knew Clash of the Titans would be #1. All the fanboys love action flicks. I expected Miley Cyrus to pull in more with her tween/teen following.

This thread is not for discussing the Oprah interview or what she has said about Michael. This for discussing the movie and movie only. I have cleaned this thread and if it veers off topic again then it will be closed.

It is Easter Holiday, therefore a long weekend here, so the box-office numbers are expected to be higher than a regular weekend.

That being said...I would go see the Last song (based on the Nicholas Sparks' book) over Titans & WDIGMT.

Tyler Perry's movies are seen mostly by AA. He has a huge following in the black community, so even though the reviews were mostly horrible, most will still go see & support his movie.

I promised myself to never set foot in a theatre for a Tyler Perry movie ....after the Diary of a mad black woman experience. Oh Lawd, have mercy!!!

Again...it is a 4-day weekend. Holiday=bigger BO revenue.

Cyrus' movie opened on wednesday....2 days ahead of titans & married.

OT: Janet can no longer say all the movies she's been in have opened at number #1. That was a talking point during her recent interviews.

Do people who didn't see Why did I get married, plan to watch at least WMDM2? don't know would it make sense to watch the sequel despite not seeing the first one?

2 bad u can't see the movie in the UK, as it isn't being released internationally but Tylers movies are like nobody knows the dude outside the States..
U wanna see it so bad.. maybe u will be able to catch it somewhere online?

I LOVED young Hercules lol...Ryan Goseling was sooo sexy to me in that...

anyway, back on topic lol

I wouldn't go and watch it if I hadn't seen the first one  you wouldn't know whats going on

I didn't see the first one, and just got back from seeing this one, and I enjoyed. In fact, I liked it better than I thought I would. Now, I might actually rent the first one.

I think WDIGM2 might have a big jump tomorrow because of the holiday. Usually, Easter Sunday is when families gather after lunch and go to the mall or movies.

That's true. They admire his Madea character and plays as well.

She said she doesn't care. Besides I don't see the big deal of having a #1 movie. You Got Served went number one and that movie is crap lol!

lol...you don't care about a movie being number 1, but you do care about who scored the most radio singles in billboard history? lol

a lot of crappy movies go to number one, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one does too eventually

A movie going number one isn't that big of a deal. Tyler already has a big following so I'm not surprised by these huge numbers. Yes, Janet has 3 #1 movies (no other artist accomplished this feat) under her belt but NP2 was because it was a sequel and WDIGM was because its a Tyler Perry flick. She's just warming up to Hollywood.

Oh! and you mean most successful singles in Billboard history :)

I don't see the correlation between the two. Do enlighten me.

i guess i'm not seeing the difference. most successful vs. number 1. and what was the difference between what i said about the billboard singles, and what you said?

i guess i'm the one that needs to be enlightened, as to why one matters less than the other. all this relativity assessment is making my head spin.
