Your all in my prayers as well as friends & family! I also love Carol Burnett. 1st time I heard of her was in Annie. waiting for her show to be become available again on dvd present for my mumsy :)

A friend of ours died of cancer Wednesday night. Her daughter was in my dad's class in school (she's a cancer survivor), her husband went to school with my grandma, and she sang in a choir we are in (well, I'm on leave since I'm in school). I sat next to her a lot and we had a BALL. We are singing at her funeral on Saturday. It will be hard, but I know where she is.

And a woman who goes to our church who is one of the nicest people you'd meet has cancer, and it could be any day now that she will no longer be with us -- she's on hospice. She's been a great mentor and helper to my brother's girlfriend, and she had a cooking column in our local newspaper. That one will be hard to deal with as well.

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend. I will pray for the family of your friend and you and all affected by her passing.

Michelle, thank youuuu so much for that video. You reminded me of World Youth Day - one of JP II's greatest legacies, one that Pope Benedict adopted so naturally and made it his as well. I remember it like it was yesterday the 2000 edition when a crowd more than 2 millions strong gathered in Tor Vergata outside of Rome to pray and sing together with the Pope. I could have went, but instead i chose to spend the money on tons of issues of the Black & White magazine :D I don't regret it though because i probably wasn't ready anyhow to attend such a huge event. I witnessed everything on tv and it was a total blessing.



Apologies for the Italian in the vid since not everybody speaks it. WYD really are awesome events - in the Phillipines in the mid 90s it was the single largest gathering ever, 4 million people in ONE place, amazing, isn't it? Denver in the States in 1993, Paris - 1997, Koln in 2005 and Melbourne in 2008 - WOW, such beautiful events. Next year it will be in Madrid, won't it? I love that city, i miss it.



Ain't it wonderful and sooo awesome (i think i'm gettin addicted to this word; nowadays just about everything is awesome) to see art put in the service of the Lord and technology assisting people separated by oceans to ''attend' the same amazing event? God is good.

The weekend is so wonderful mainly because of the Feast of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit descended over the Apostles and the Virgin Mary. He is the fire and the wind still working every day in the Church and in all creation, as He was from the very beginning. He is the vital force which sustains all life, the Comforter in our times of trouble, He is God. Although a mystery for many outside of the faith, the Holy Spirit is a reality, He is the communion and the imperceivable to the human ear loving dialogue between the Father and the Son; in His apparent silence, He guides and sustains all of us all day and every day. He is merciful and forgiving and His mercy knows no limits.

John Paul II in his first homely as Pope told us not to be afraid, to open wide the gates to our hearts to Christ. Let us also open the windows of our souls to the Spirit. If we let Him, He will work wonders in our lives. Yesterday evening i heard such an awe inspiring commentary - if we would understand that the Spirit of God dwells in every creature, great or small, we would learn to see the world with different eyes and perceive it as one huge temple of the Most High and we would walk in it with a lot more respect and responsibility.

Almighty God,
on this day you opened the way of eternal life
to every race and nation
by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit:

Shed abroad this gift throughout the world
by the preaching of the Gospel,
that it may reach to the ends of the earth;

through Jesus Christ our Lord,

It's never too late, you know? :cheeky: As long as we can breathe, it is never too late to do the things we like in life.

Today in the Catholic calendar we celebrate the Holy Trinity – a most amazing mystery which cannot be truly understood by the human mind and conveyed in words. One of the most amazing depictions of the Holy Trinity was done in 1410 by a Russian painter named Andrei Rublev. It shows the “Old Testament” Trinity – the angels which were hosted by Abraham at Mamre. It is a brilliant image because it captures the very essence of the doctrine – three persons, one divine substance.

I have a special devotion to the Holy Trinity, hence my avatar. A couple of years ago I was looking for the symbol (and that is how I found the picture I use in the avatar) so I could insert it in the door to my house, but technicalities prevented that from happening. I did recently manage to have it on another piece though.

In a wonderful commentary I heard last evening, it was explaind that the Trinity is communion, it is the explanation of everything and the beginning of everything. On a wonderful take on the famous frase attributed to Malareux it was said that man either is relationship and communion, or he does not exist. And because God is communion and because He created us in His image, loneliness is against our nature. That is why all our loves should be made of not only of staring in each other's eyes, but looking together towards our brothers, especially those most in need and gazing at the immensity of the sky.

We all need to learn to intercede as members of the Christ's Body. There are those around you experiencing the Holy Spirit's help towards their completeness, maturity and wholeness in the same way He is helping you. You have to recognize your brothers and sisters in Jesus. We cannot see our lives completed by ourselves. The Holy Spirit is our primary Helper, but He has willed to use us as instruments in each other's lives. I need you to complete what i'm to become.


May the Lord bless you and keep you all in His loving embrace. I pray this in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

Thanks for your encouragement. I don't think I'll ever make it. Money is involved in travelling and well, we have to spend it elsewhere.

Thanks, everyone. She was a lovely lady. Her funeral really was a celebration of her life.

My mother is getting a hip replacement in about 2 or 3 weeks. Finally, she gives in!!!

Indeed, we are celebrating the Holy Body and Blood of Christ – Corpus Domini. For those of us who believe, the Lord truly is present in the Holy Eucharist. Someone once said that if people knew the true value of the Eucharist, policemen would have to be put at the doors of churches to hold the people from getting in orderly. At the same token, because it is such a sacred act, it must never be taken lightly or without the proper preparation.

Here is a wonderful illustration, an impressive vision of heaven, which shows the miracle present in the Tabernacle of every church around the world - from a little village in China where people gather fearfully to the magnificence of Saint Peter's Basilica and everywhere else in between.

I cannot state it often and powerfully enough how much I love it when artists use their craft to praise the Lord. Simon András is such an artist. His work is truly amazing. His art is a clear demonstration that minimalism in design doesn't have to be heartless and void of content. It is incredible. At times, with a single stroke he can create some extraordinarily powerful images. That's the thing that I admire most about him – he creates with so much simplicty some very profound graphics which take you deep within the soul. It sounds terribly familiar, doesn't it? Someone we all know and love did the same, didn't he? That !stop existing and start living! guy again. :cheeky: So simple, yet so complex...

These images remind us of the Lord's abounding love for us and the need to always trust in Him, no matter what. He came to bring us all peace. By His wounds we were healed. In His endless Mercy, He came to serve and not to condemn the world, but to save it through His blood on Calvary. That last image is a call to service for all of us – to stand and help all our brothers and sisters in need.

In La vita e bella, Roberto Begnini's masterpiece, there is a wonderful scene where a waiter talks about the honor to serve (when most would think the job a demeaning one) and how God was the first and biggest servant of all. I was truly glad when I heard president Obama called for a national day of service. That kind of day ought to be celebrated and marked in every country, not just the US and not only one day but every day.




And now for some music.....the wonderful guys from U2 with one of the masterpieces which made How to dismantle an atomic bomb an awesome album – YAHWEH. Reallyyy early this morning i found an amazingly inspirational video to go along with the song. God bless Bono and may he have a speedy recovery. People are awaiting them on their tour. I feel bad for their American fans. Some of my friends can't wait to go to Barcelona in September to see them perform.



And last, but not least, some more Gregorian chants. If I have already posted this before apologies, but this is too good not to share. More than an year ago I bought this amazing CD – the Cistercian Abbey Stift Heiligenkreuz monks performing sacred music. It does feel like angels are singing. The fact that they actually did the recording in a chuch facing the altar must have something to do with it.



May we never forget to pray for all our brothers and sisters who are facing illness and pain. May we pray for all those who struggle in body and soul. May the Lord pour down His Mercy on them and their families.

Hey!

I was at a "boy camp". It was church's boy camp, there were boys aged from 7 to 14. We had awesome camp. There was so nice weather all the time and summer's camps are always good. :)

There is one week til the premier! Next week's Friday. Yeah! We had practise yesterday and it was kinda good. The end is kinda hard but we'll watch it today.

Today we celebrate one of the greatest figures in the history of the Church, a much beloved saint - Anthony of Padua. He was and remains a model for Christians in every corner of the world. He was a Doctor of the Church who knew the Holy Bible by heart so much so that it was said of him that had every Bible in the world been lost, he would have recited it all by heart. Beyond his knowledge of Word, He lived the Word of the Lord with faith, hope and above all love.

Because in the designs of providence there are no coincidences, as John Paull II taught us so beautifully, today beyond the blessing of the lilies, we also have the blessing of children. Churches everywhere around the world are filled with those beautiful, majestic and pure flowers, their fragrances and with the sounds of children playing and...at times, crying, but they are all beautiful sounds.

Therefore, it was a most appropriate day for Michael to be freed from those horrible accusations when he was victimized within the scheme.

Dear Saint Anthony, you were prompt to fulfill all justice. You gave God and His creation the service He required from you. You respected other people's rights and treated them with kindness and understanding. Saint Anthony, Zealous for Justice, teach me the beauty of this virtue. Make me prompt to fulfill all justice toward God and toward all creation.



I thank the Lord for Michael's restored freedom on June 13th 2005 and all the people who have helped him along the way, especially his family who stood by him and his defense team.

I also pray the Lord forgives Michael's enemies and grants them the time and the wisdom to come before Him, if not before the world, to recognize their many and very serious sins - there are few things on this earth as awful as accusing an innocent man of the most heinous crime out there, especially a champion of children's causes such as Michael. For some of them it is too late, but for many there still is time to do the right thing.


During the mass today, there was a passage from the Holy Scripture about the sinner woman who wet Jesus' feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. When He explained to Peter the beauty, sincerity and simplicity of her gesture he said Her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. (Luke 7:47 NIV). It is said that when man (in this case, a woman) loves, accomplishes divine acts.

Saint Anothony has also taught us there are four types of love - for the Lord, for our brothers, for our self and for our body. Only when the four of them come together in harmony, are we complete. It is of utmost importance to see the Lord in each and every person we meet. And to quote Tupac *giggles* we gotta start seeing each other as brothers, instead of distant strangers. When we see the other, we not only see the Lord, but we look in the mirror for the love for the Lord is the same as the love for the other. Everybody forgets the self in the mystery of you. Therefore - LOVE...and YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING.

I had great weekend. :)

I met my girlfriend on Saturday and Sunday. It was 13th day on Sunday and six months backwards from that we started dating. Hah. :)

It was the first meetup in a month! Wow. Really. But I'm really glad everything is OK. I was so worried.

I have been on again and off again with Christianity and religion in general. Sometimes I would tell people that "I'm spiritual" but I was not even sure I knew what I was talking about. Now, I'm a believer...why? Biology & Anatomy. Seriously. After going through these classes and learning just how COMPLEX the body is, I simply can't chalk this up to evolution alone.

The blood has to be kept at a certain pH balance or else even the slightest 0.1 change in balance can cause death...how does it stay stable? It has its own buffers to maintain this balance.

Hormones: A woman (who has just given birth) will not produce milk until she expels the placenta from her body...unbelievable!

Your stomach contains gastric juices so acidic that it could digest the rest of the organs in your body. But thanks to tight junctions of the cells lining the stomach (like a zip-lock bag), fluids are not able to seep through.

I could go on and on, but I am always amazed at how this "system" we call a body came to fruition. No way this was just evolution alone. No way! :clapping:
