I remix, made the tracks different from what they had which would have been unacceptable...Cont.

And just as i said in a previous post, this song was remixed, that's why some people are expressing doubts. A remix often changes how the whole thing sounds.

And again as Teddy Riley makes it clear, releasing the song in its original format would be unnacceptable.

At times fans fail to realise that you may be satisfied with hearing MJ's original voice as it is, but this is a record and ir must sound like a finished product for the market. Who would want to play a professional singer's song that sounded like a demo?

Some people who are strong fans of an artist may like to hear JayZ, Akon, Lady Gaga, Maddona singing in their natural voice but for the market, the song needs to sound finished, current and professional.

Listen to some demos on MJ's boxset, those songs could never have been released as singles. So don't try to fault Teddy Riley for the work he did.

The reason I asked the question earlier as I firmly believe its the same person as they say the name Michael Jackson with the same sort of hissing after the name.

My take on this after listening many times is as follow.

I do believe he is in there at parts, however I do believe this is heavily layered the backing definitely is not him but the hee hee's are, the chorus part I am still unsure at this moment, firstly I do think this song is a un finished demo in which Michael to a certain degree was either a) was not giving it his full ability in singing b) Michael is trying a different form of sound in his voice similar to his thought on 2000 watts or c) that he did not fully Finnish the song thus it was not a polished and final cut of lyrics sung.

For me I think getting the acappella will help this issue in a huge way.,

For me the jury is out at the moment,

can you contact sony and see what is going on?

i think this is the problem we are gonna have with alot of these songs. if we heard the songs b4 they were touched up by teddy etc u would be able to see how much of a demo the song was, how rough it was, what stage it was at. hence mjs vocals not being amazing as it was just him messing around creating bits and bats so to speak. then the song gets taken and turned into the finished product yet mjs vocals are obviously the same as they were on the demo version. so it wont really sound right ontop of others vocals maybe being added to pad it out.

personally i think its mj but some of the vocals sound as if they have been played around with and maybe others added in to pad it out

It doesn't matter who is brought in to verify it. Folks here have made up their minds and nothing bar MJ walking in a saying it is him will satisfy. Even if a video of MJ in the studio singing this was released they would still argue black was white etc.

If I am wrong then I am wrong but I wont try and destroy the man in death as he was in life by bleating on and on that its not the Michael Jackson of 10 years or more ago. Life changes people. Age changes voices. Experience changes attitudes.

In case you have any doubts if this is the singing of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, it's probably because you have not heard any song by Michael with new vocals since 2001 - except for ""Hold My Hand"

- "One More Chance" belongs to the INVINCIBLE recording sessions
- "Beautiful Girl", "The Way You Love Me" and "We've Had Enough" belong to the INVINCIBLE recording sessions (the latter is even from 1999!)
- the song "No Friend Of Mine" (or "Gangsta") also uses vocals by Michael that are taken from the INVINCIBLE recording sessions


I'll say it one more time very clearly to everyone with any doubts:

This is the singing of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop!!!


If you can't handle that yet and if it's unreal to you, you'll acknowledge it by no later than the coming years.

If any of the above says it's michael's voice on the track the fans would consider them liars.. so I guess no one can prove it

I just want to defend Teddy Riley for a minute: his work on this track is spectacular. Lets say for a moment that it IS michael's vocals, but perhaps they were on a badly damaged tape and he had to clean 'em up. I don't know.

But one thing is for sure: when I heard the snippet I was SUPER excited and wanted to dance. The full track I still want to dance. it's got a lot of energy and is masterfully produced. I just have to question that those vocals are 100% michael's. He's in there at points to be sure...

I'm not saying they're lying but something is fishy here guys. And of all the tracks to pick, why this one? When we know Place with No Name, Hold My Hand, Another Day are all CLEARLY michael's vocals. So why not just post one of those? It just seems like such an odd choice.

if you listen to the lyrics -- its about the media and i do believe the media, the paparazzi were his biggest trouble -- and let's face it -- they still are, for the children.

imho this track is just perfect, it addresses the media and every station, every journalist around the world will listen to this one song

I am not arguing with you but why would they lie? Don't they have 100's of songs available to them?
I remember when I first heard 2000 watts I kept checking the insert because I wasn't sure it was Michael. I admit it.

I hardly can think they have 100's of songs available, I mean finished tracks and not just some instrumentals made by Brad Buxer or I don't know who, even referenced with Michael Jackson's name.

That's a bit out of order saying you don't have respect for Michael if you buy the album. No one knows what the hell is going on at the moment & should reserve judgement when we find out what is going on.

I can't buy a product titled Michael Jackson if that's not him singing on it, that's logic.
We don't need any confirmation, we need explanations.

To have an idea of his recent voice, we have some of the live songs in the This Is It movie, Michael Jackson's part in WBSS recorded with Akon in 2008 and even Hold My Hand.

Wow incredible disrespect.

Concerning Teddy Riley he has done incredible things with Michael in the past but today that's not the case anymore. The music of breaking news is not bad, that's not the problem. This is a moral issue and he is not the only one concerned.

This is an absolute DISASTER, isn't it?

Really upsets me to think about it all, to be quite honest, but I've been a fan for nearly 2 decades now (I'm 26) and I've NEVER been dubious of an MJ song until I played Breaking News this morning... something definately isn't right, that's for sure: but can Sony REALLY get away with doing what they've been accused of? It'd destroy them if it was revealed that an imposter had been used to "fill in the vocal gaps" on an album, ironically, titled MICHAEL!!

Surely this is a nightmare? It feels far too ridiculous to be real?

Teddy Riley said that he mixed "Breaking News" because it was previously UNRELEASABLE - but wasn't it reported that MJ recorded and COMPLETED a FULL album of 12 tracks with the Cascio's? How can a completed song(s) require such a major overhaul??

What do you want? Can't you tell by yourself? Have you been a fan of Michael for years? Do you KNOW his voice? Vibrations? Style? Accent? Motions when singing? Obviously not.

Now you are being plain rude. The way a song is mixed or produced can alter the way the voice sounds.

Hmmm, some parts are definitely MJ, but I'm hearing other voices from different people. Background singers are more stronger than the lead singer...weird. IMO

Just heard the acapella of Breaking News, without no doubt it is Michael, its just heavily layered and mixed. Even Riley said the vocals were unacceptable to be released as they are, they've worked on then a lot. It reminds me of Real Love from The Beatles, heavily 'retouched'

I just listened to it like 10 times... i feel MJ in completely!!! its just a different style than what wer used to... Sony didnt have to release this song to us, its not even the single.. i think its an awesome song.. and like i said earlier we havent heard MJ sing in almost 10 yrs.. the man is always evolving and changing his style.. this does not surprise me.. plus he prob didnt put his best effort into this thinking it was not gonna be the version that would be released out to us.. ITS HIM!!! and to the people that are comparing it to TII.. TII was mostly play back. and u know it.. they used Dangerous and History tour to complete the vocals.. of course he sounded good in TII it was not really live.. this is MJ in breaking news... the fans really need to appreciate what were getting here. This is the same thing with the O2 announcement.. ppl thought it was too good to be true and didnt believe it was MJ. guess what IT WAS!!!!! and this is too!!

awooohs are taken from Escape and other songs.
backing vocal sound alot like him.

either half recorded song with added lead vocals by the Malachi guy. Or MJ had nothing to do with that song. the heeehs and awooow are MJs and some true MJ elemets are definitely mixed in.
You know there is supposed to be to be some song called "what is to be me" or something like that. Maybe that song was not finished and they made "breaking news" out of it. cause they thought it would be cool promo.

talking about Shout and 2000watts. It you change the pitch of 2000watts you get Michaels voice just like it always was. Just like they did on 30th anniversary to sound more deep and different, then the album recordings.
After 22 years you get sense of how his voice is, can and no matter how altered, you always can recognize it.
If you have a doubt, then it's not him.
I never had strange feeling on 2000watts, Shout ot any other strange soundig song.

BUt all these Malachi songs, that surfaced the light, the bells were always ringing.

Sony knows shit. they think they can fools us. they problably never knew that all those Malachi songs were fast proven as not Michael Jacksons.

And small indicator of been fake is , that it won't be official single.

I was listening to the song again this morning on my mp3 player and I kept thinking, this is such a good song, if only it was Michael singing and not this other person. I'm sorry but to my ears, most of the vocals are not MJ. I'm not an MJ expert at all but even I can tell.
