It's not.

How anyone could even think that is beyond me. It's like saying Best Of Joy might be Earth Song reworked because he says the word "joy" in Earth Song! Ridiculous.

It's about the meaning of the song rather than what's being said there. Tabloid Junkie, Earth Song, etc. are not said anywhere within the songs yet the titles are perfect. It's the same with this song.

Michael is singing about what is happening in Hollywood on a particular night, its obvious its called Hollywood Tonight?

So the fact that MJ said in 1993 that that song is CALLED Do You Know Where Your Children Are doesn't make you think it's NOT Hollywood Tonight?

Granted they could have changed the title but there is simply NO reason to believe these two songs are one and the same.

How is it beyond possibility? He talks about a girl walking the streets of Hollywood.

I'm not saying it is, but it doesn't seem that outlandish. Sony and/or The Estate could have also agreed to change the track name to something a bit more ambiguous.

I agree with you, sure Hollywood and night is mentioned in the lyrics, but IMHO not enough for the song to be called Hollywood Tonight

Agree with this. I think there is every chance that they are in fact, the same song.

If this song ever sees the light of day I can almost guarantee you it's not going to be called "Do You Know Where Your Children Are". So far it's just an idea some fans came up with, and it is certainly possible. You're right that there is nothing to go on. But I just don't see it as completely unreasonable or ludicrous.

It DYKWYCA not the real title? Or do you mean that some people wouldn't like the title? I myself really like it.

Because haters will look at the title and answer "in his bed". It would draw unnecessary attention. A title is not worth all that IMO.

Fair enough. When I first heard it, I was like "wow, if only the whole world could hear this, how Michael felt so strongly about protecting children from the horrors of the world, even back in the early 90s." And I like the pun on the Public Service Announcement tag line Do You Know Where Your Children Are (I posted some YT links in the DYKWYCA thread). But I do see what you're saying; sometimes I forget to think about what the general public might think.

I think most of the general public would look at that title and think hhhhmmmm! "Do You Know Where Your Children Are" just gives the media ammunition if you ask me, its such a great track why risk a load of crap to be associated with it. 'Hollywood Tonight' is a brilliant alternative and a great way to steer the b*****t away.

I'm hoping that is not the case and that Hollywood Tonight is a completely separate song. Why do people care so much about what soulless haters say? Honestly, if Michael titled a track, it should STAY that name, I don't care if he named a track "K3DX6M" , keep it what Michael called it. Let the soulless haters say what they want, every time they do they just make themselves look like assholes..Don't cater to haters, cater to the FANS.

Umm.. How is changing the name catering to haters and neglecting fans? It's just a simple change that won't do anything to the actual song.

Umm.. According to you "haters will look at the title, and it draws unnecessary attention"

Hollywood Tonight may very well be a completely separate song, but if they ever changed a song title that Michael himself gave, because they are worried about what "haters" will say, then yeah, that would be neglecting Michael's art which would not be catering to fans.

Yeah, it would draw negative attention, which, at least I thought, was the reason fans bagged on Katherine, right?

Catering to haters would be completely removing the song from the album (which could still be the case, we'll just have to wait and see). But simply changing the track does not mean they aren't catering to fans. No way in hell.

Yes, screw the media! But you don't have to invite needless controversy either.

I loved DYKWYCA and hope it will be in the album.And this will come true only if it iss really with the name Hollywood tonight.

Well I guess lets just agree to disagree, I see what you are saying, but I personally think it just would be wrong to change a song title that Michael gave..Even if it was "controversial" to some, it doesn't bother me for whatever reason..But still like were saying Hollywood Tonight may be in fact a completely different song and all this talk may be pointless in the end...but if that's what they did then it would annoy me, but it wouldn't stop me from enjoying the song because it's easily going to become one of my favorites of his. :punk:
