Hollywood Tonight - Official Discussion Thread

Re: Hollywood Tonight

I'm curious, was the snippet initially found in the first post's link (the one many were laughing about) actually the real deal? Cause now you can find the real song under that link.

i don't even click on bogus crap like that ....... it might just infect my computer !

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

My favourite song on the album! My gosh I love it! :wild:

She's going Hollywood, she's going Hollywood tonight!!!

Is there any chance this could be released as single? Haha I still want a new MJ song to dance to on clubs!!!

* I wonder who it's about? In the note it says "based on true story" in the end..

It will be released as a single. First monster, then hollywood tonight, and then another day!

I like the song, but i don't love it.

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

I really love this song! It's so great! BUT: it is again very obvious and clear that MJ was not done at all making this song. I bet that if he would have put it on Invincible or something, that he would have added a bridge part and he would have added more strings, more MJ voice choires (which I miss on the entire album) and different instruments. But of course that is just my opinion. Still, I can hear through all the Sony @(*^$@ and realise it is a brilliant track! Yeah! who will claim to be miss hollywood first? :-D

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

I am loving HT very much! I do hope that this is considered as a single.

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

I agree...it is very obvious it wasn't finished...But I have to admit that Teddy did a great job in finishing it...I'm not a huge fan of the spoken part...it's a little too long, and it really distracts from the huge DANCING this song induces...The bridge just sorta stops you in your tracks...but, either way, it's a great song!

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

lol this is not the only song you should buy the album for. behind the mask is KILLER!

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

i'm afraid i'm the only person in the world who feels like this !! but hoestly, do not like this song, it is ot MJ type at all , i always skip it ! nothing is MJ in this song i can' feel it at all !

i'm not sayin it is fake becuase i trust Teddy alot, but i would call it cheesy and very 90's !

I agree :D

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

Hoolywood Tonight is awesome but i only have one complaint. That annoying talking that happens in the middle and at the end of the song

Saying ''She's Hollywood'' over and over again is not cool. It's annoying

I Didn't Look For It? It Was Somewhere On This Forum? And I'm One Of Those Rare People Who Believe It Is 110% On The Whole Album So Don't Tell Me That I'm Looking For Something To Prove It Wrong

Re: Hollywood Tonight *Threads Merged*

I'm confused. Why would they give wrong lyrics on the official booklet accompanying the album? and why would they change lyrics in the song as well coz it looks like the lyrics in the booklet were the original ones.

It happens a lot to have mistakes in booklets. Not just with MJ's.

I used to proof read for a Publication house and for a book it goes through 3 different proof readers before going to print. And usually the first printing is sorta small because you get lots of feedback from readers and there's still mistakes to be corrected before the second printing.

I don't think they do all that with song lyrics though.

I found many mistakes in Michael's booklets. You have to go with what make sense in the song context.

There's also missing lyrics here and there.:(

I'm a little confused on the lyrics of HT. Is MJ saying it's a good or nad thing to "going hollywood tonight'? He says in the song that "may never have this chance again". That sounds like it's being made out to be a good thing.

I see it quite differenly.
It seems to me that he is saying how some ppl would do just about anything to become famous.
Mentioning Hollywood in few songs and not in a good way.
I can see his point.

That's how I see it too.

Btw, the lyrics on the booklet go "when she was taught that that's not clean because she's only fifteen" but Michael doesn't sing that part at all in the song?

There has been some talk about HT being the third single after Monster, I think that would be great, hopefully it's true!

I think they wrote those additional lyrics, like with "Monster"'s "And They Eat Your Soul Like A Vegetable" because he had written the lyrics like that, but never completed the songs and intentionally missed lyrics out to save his voice, thus the demos that they used weren't complete and "joined up the loose ends" to complete it. That being said, he sometimes did that when he toured.

that is what he sings on the demo so that's where they probably got the lyrics

This song rocks, there is a lot going on, and a remix would be intresting :punk::wub:
