Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

Fundamental fairness my arse! There is nothing fair or just about these delays. This just gives murray's new pr team the whole summer to blast michael's character in the press and influence potential jury members. Maybe i don't 'get' the US 'justice' system but i just find their reason to delay ridiculous.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

agree with you..and THAT is the unfair part of all this...everyone KNOWS Murray is guilty...but if the judge doesn't give them all of the delays that they want..then they will say that Murray was not given a fair trial...we all know that is bullshit...but..the judge has to follow the law to the letter. ...even if that means making it look like Michael is on trial...the judge has no personal feelings either way in this case...and he knows that it is only a matter of time before he reads the gulty verdict from the jury. It is us who want this damn trial to get over and done with....for Michael's sake...we want Murray's ass to hurry up and be put in jail were he belongs.

What you are forgetting is that it is everyone fundamental right to a fair trial. It does not matter whether you are guilty or not. Plus if the judge had denied the defense's request and Murray was subsequently found guilty, Murray would appeal the ruling forcing the judge to declare a mistrial, which would bring us right back to square one. so be patient. better to let things run their course.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

Agree with that better do it good right than a mistrial and two trials... Justice will come i believe in that

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

I pray that MJ gets justice.. He deserves so much better than this mess..All he wanted to do was sleep and this no good bastard killed him due to negligence and greed. He deserves to go down for prolonging this crap.

yes I know it would end in a mistrial...and I do understand that everyone is entitled to a fair trial..it was Murray that said that he wanted to exercise his right to a speedy trial..no one forced that down his throat..that was his choosing...and now because people are not buying his lies and the pros can debunk them all...now he wants the justice system to take their time and give him a long lengthily trial at the expense of MINE and YOUR tax dollars....he dd the crime and now he is afraid to do the time...he should of NEVER gave Michael that crap to begin with and he wouldn't be in the position that he is in right now...and Michael would still be here.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

Glad I wasn't holding my breath, I'm pi##ed with Murray and his team. They won't be smug for long though cause if it starts Sept 20
then Murray should be in jail in time for Christmas.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

How long do you think the trial will last?

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

all Murray had to do was say Michael this is not safe and I won't do this. Anesthesia does not put you to 'sleep' it knocks you out. I will not do this because it's wrong and unethical but I will help you find a safe way to sleep in which you won't be knocked out cold. That is all Murray had to do and he would not be facing jail and MJ would still be alive today.

It's obvious MJ was either sleep or dead because Murray was on the phone constantly. If MJ was still awake and begging for propofol as Murray claim, how could be talking on the phone so much? He had no clue what was going on with MJ

"The attorneys said they could not be ready for trial, which was set to begin with opening statements next week, because of eleventh-hour prosecution experts debunking their theory that the king of pop died by his own hand.

Prosecutors contended the latest medical experts proposed no new theories, and the defense caused the situation by invoking Murray’s right to a speedy trial.

They told the judge last week that one of their experts reached the conclusion that it would have been impossible for Jackson to have caused his own death by orally ingesting the drug propofol, an argument that defense attorneys made during preliminary hearings."

Is this why for the delay now till September? They were banking on this and now have nothing so they need more time to think of another defence? This better be the last delay because they are playing games and it is not right. Michael died and it feels like nobody cares.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

they expect it to last around 6 weeks

That's good news. I just hope Murray will be found guilty at the end of it.

The not so good news now: It can only be 4 years and Murray will probably be released after 3 years if he behaves well.

that's how I feel. To me it seems like Murray's team tried to pull a fast one with "self drink propofol" but when the prosecution got the expert and science to debunk it, they are left with no choice but to ask for a delay and try to come up with something else.

As the judge allowed DA to add new experts to debunk Murray's theory, he wasn't left with any choice other than allowing a delay for the fairness.

Is it okay to say that I am glad that theory was debunked? The whole drinking propofol sounded ridiculous and I could never see Michael doing that. I hope there are not anymore delays after this.

Huh?! :wtf: September? You're kidding me, right? This is a joke! Unbelievable!

Murray now worries about fairness. Think about how fair it would have been if he had monitored Michael the way that he should have done.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

Really, I don't understand US laws, :wtf: will this trial be constantly postponed each time the DA debunks all defence's theories !!
God ! where is the fairness here ! Will we have to wait until they find something believable ? anyway they know they will never find because all the facts prove he is guilty. They have nothing, until almost two years now they try all the ways and each time their defence plans failed. So what ?! What about the facts ? What about Michael ?

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

right to a fair trial and all that.but its like things have been gone full circle.the pros are having to act like the defence interms of defending mj from the claims of the defence.and now they have defended him the defence are wanting time to get evidence to accuse mj. Whos the one on trial again

Completely agree with this. The defense is manipulating the situation totally. And once again, the victim of the crime is victimized. It's interesting that the rule of 'fairness' never seems to apply to the deceased. No one ever voices concerns of fairness for the victim of the crime. Is it because he is dead and can't speak for himself? Fairness is all well and good but somewhere someone has got to say enough, this is just not fair to Michael. Why should he be treated less fairly than murray? As it seems he is. The prosecution went along with the speedy trial although they voiced their concerns and received purring reassurances that the defense would be ready.
Can no penalty be invoked on the defense for failing to do what they themselves wanted?

"The defense originally asked for two weeks. The judge and prosecution were concerned that they would have the same problem in a week and a half so the judge wanted to give it a more realistic timeline. He suggested June or July. Chernoff said he only has one month with his kid (July) and really wants that time. Apparently the judge was cool with that and so September it is. IMO nothing will change then either. This is a circus disguised as "justice"."

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/a7g1f2

^ I bet Michael also wanted more time with his children...

Well I bet that PPB would really really like this all finished, too. I bet they would like to have had time with their dad. I feel no sympathy for Chernoff. His shenanigans have set the stage for this delay. I'm sorry the judge didn't say, too bad, so sad, July it is. Where's the fairness for Michael? I just cannot believe this.
At least we know why they hired the PR firm. They have all summer to sway prospective jurors...

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

I am so TIRED of this mess! NEVER does it ever seem as though Michael's rights are ever considered, he's ALWAYS the one getting the short end of the stick! This whole thing has been so emotionally exhausting for me......its not like Michael is going anywhere so lets just delay, delay, delay!

Why don't they not just wait to start in another two years!....I'm just tired!

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

This whole thing is just insane. Did the defense seriously believe that the "drinking propofol" theory was going to work? If this "doctor" is really as innocent as he claims to be, why the need to constantly change the story? Why the need to continue to throw different theories out there to see which one will stick? If you're innocent, tell the damn truth and that would be enough to set you free. The truth doesn't jump around depending on what the prosecution can/cannot debunk. If a man could really drink propofol and kill himself, and did so, the prosecution would not be able to deem that theory impossible, would they?

This ish is getting tiresome. Delay after delay, Michael on trial, Michael's life dissected, Michael's privacy violated through autopsy photos and whatnot, all this bullish from the defense trying to throw the victim under the bus, trying to drag the victim's name through MUD yet again just to save their guilty client from a measly 4 year sentence... max. I wish they would just get this whole thing over and done with.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

I've now lost all hope of seeing that murderer go in prison............

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

And times like this is when Michael's family should be out front and center fighting for him. Like I've been saying for the past 2 years where the hell is the outrage? The prosecution has a witness who says there is no way MJ gave that crap to himself, yet Michael's family is nowhere to be found calling that murderer out for what he did. That family makes me sick to my stomach. They should be on the front court house steps demanding justice and fighting for Michael. They haven't done no such thing. It's just horrible

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

All of these delays are so fucking aggravating!

If you don't understand the american justice system then I suggest you read up on it before bashing it. This is IMO a very good move by the judge he is given them more time to get themselves ready which is the fair thing to do. They tried something and it failed now when he is convicted there is no excuse to be had.

Trial postponed! URGENT!

by Majestik Magnificent on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 4:01pm

This is Majestik. I am really livid about the delay in the trial. This is to me a personal and direct attack on the fans, for they know fans have already paid for their airline tickets and hotel room for May 9 and they know that fans cannot get that money back and they knew that on the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death if the trial was still going on there would have been thousands of fans at the courthouse. I feel it in my bones and in my heart that they did not want to see that kind of love and support for Michael Jackson... so what they did was make the energy level low and the turn out minimum to catch the fans by surprise and move the trial back FOUR MONTHS! This is something that we must let them know that we are aware of. One of the reasons is that he said he needed to spend time with his kids. What about justice for Michael's kids?! This is a disgrace! This is the worst kind of the worst attack in trying to diminish the support that Michael has. They know how large it is and by them doing this they think they can make it look like Michael only has just a few supporters during the trial. I desperately need you all to prove them wrong. I don't care if you have to get the plane tickets and hotels again. I don't care if it puts you in a tight financial position. Michael deserves it. I want the fans to all come out stronger than you would have if they would have started on May 9. This is so unfair and so conniving that they think the fans are stupid and can't see through this mess. La Toya Jackson as you know has said from the very beginning that her brother was murdered and has been fighting along side you for righteousness, and she will continue to do so. Let's show them that even through all of this Michael Jackson fans still stand strong- even through this Michael Jackson fans will support him through anything even if they have to stand in the snow. All they have done is make you come together and stand stronger than ever. Let's show the world that Michael Jackson fans love and support him through the toughest of the toughest times no matter what. Please spread this to all the fans all over the world. Come out and show your support for Michael.

I thank you.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

This is exhausting, everytime the trial date is near it gets postponed. This makes me sick Murray should be in jail now for killing his patient instead he gets mre time to try to convince people he's the victim in this tragedy.

What is Majestik talking about? The judge's ruling has nothing to do the fans. His concern is that this trial goes without a slew of reasons for an appeal. The judge is not stupid and sees through any tricks that any side might try to play. He was obviously frustrated by this request for a delay but at the end of the day when you think about it, this ruling is as much as a protection for Michael as fairness for Murray. If a conviction is obtained, then that conviction has to be as air-tight as possible. Otherwise, you are looking at appeals; Murray shouldn't be given grounds for appeals. That is how this ruling is favorable for Michael.

I will admit it is frustrating. But, in the end, I know that the judge can't rule on emotion.

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

Majestik blaming who?

If he followed the information Murray's defense initially asked the trial to start 2 weeks later on May 23. If you added 6 weeks estimated time the trial would have been going on by the second anniversary date . Prosecution didn't want that as 2 weeks wouldn't give them enough time to get ready for the defense's new witnesses.

Judge offered June or July start up which would have brought the start and end close to the anniversary and the birthday. They rejected this due to personal life and 4th of July holiday week.

At the end they settled on September. So as first two discussed dates was falling on second anniversary and michael's birthday again who is Majestik blaming for the so called "attack on fans"?

Re: Status hearings discussion thread / next hearing May 2nd

I really wonder how Murray is paying for his legal bills? The costs must be through the roof and even if he had a huge turn over from his practice, i still don't think it would be enough.

If it serves any consolation, Murray is doing exactly what bin Laden was doing before he eventually got killed. i.e dodging justice until he gets caught. so chill out. he'll eventually get caught in the court of law.
