As the motion to dismiss has been denied, this case is starting to go forward with an expected trial date of June 2012.

In the initial papers filed MJ Estate's witness list includes Howard Mann and a bunch of people related to Vintage Pop and related businesses as well as Melissa Johnson, Joe, Katherine and Trent Jackson. Estate also is interested in any agreement between Mann and anyone that's related to Michael.

Howart Mann's witness list is quite interesting. It involves Estate executors, people who run MJ companies, Sony/ ATV, Cirque de Soleil, MGM Grand, almost all Jacksons and the likes of Al Malnik, Brian Oxman, marc schaffel (spelled as Mark Shelfel), Randy Phillips, Londell McMillian, Joel Katz, Tohme Tohme and most probably Dieter wiesner (it's spelled as Didier Witzner).

Howard Mann's key documents include not only an agreement with Katherine Jackson but one with Joe Jackson as well. There's also a November 17, 2009 letter between Tohme Tohme and Brett Livingstone-Strong.

Howard Mann's lawyers filed their list of witnesses, what is... the strangest set of people ever seen! Just to name a few:
Dr. Tohme,
Katherine and Joseph Jackson,
All the Jackson siblings,
Henry Vaccaro,
Joel Katz,
Al Malnic,
Didier Witzner (might be Dieter Wiesner :) ),
Brian Oxman,
Adam Streisand,
Longdell MacMillan (aka. Londell McMillan :) ),
Randy Phillips.

They are citing multiple letters between parties like Brett Livingstone-Strong, Henry Lowell and Katherine.

On the other side the MJ Estate named his witnesses as well, where similar names appears, with the addition of Trent Jackson and Melissa Johnson.

The case might go to trial with the estimated start of June 11, 2012.

Howard Mann witness list is incredibly irrelevant. what has sony/atv got to do this this case? What has MGM Grand got to do with this case? what has malnik or even cirque du soleil got to do with this case? How will these people help Howard Mann? I can see the judge trimming that list to almost zero.

I think Howard Mann is in Katherine's ears and probably the rest of the Jacksons saying he can help expose the executors and the conspiracy they believe in. Nothing else makes sense about that list. But I am just waiting to hear what the Jacksons will say for themselves if they are put on the stand. I am quite looking forward to it.

This is really a mess.
All these are pathetic.
His own family game up with shady people to fight his own estate.
I guess the tabloid will be really happy that they will have so many things to write.

This case is about intellectual property and not conspiracy. it has nothing to do with that. the judge will nix that list easily.
none of these people owns MJ's image and likeness so what can they possibly say that will strenghten Mann's case? Mann claims that he owns the rights to MJ items, which is not true at all.

please do not try to lecture me if you are. I am simply stating what I believe is Mann's mo. I didn't say he would be succesful.

The fools cant even spell ppls names right lol. Sounds like mann is naming all these ppl to try and force the estates hand to settle.ie ill embarrass u and mj when these ppl start talking.although i doubt hardly any will end up on the stand as they are totally irrelevent.id kike to see what the thome letter is about seeing hw stopped working for mj in may 09. Was he still portraying himself as something he wasnt after june

June 2012. That`s a long waiting for the trial and hopefuly victory for the Estate.
So what will Mann do until the trial. Sure his Secrt.Vault-site will be open with the book and the T-shirt`s. But I can`t believe that still many people will buy this things and I don´t believe that Mann will bring any new product out now.

yes. it's actually where this new information is coming from. they are doing what they are supposed to do and filing documents with the court.

edited to add: some of those dates are the deadlines to file some documents not necessarily in court hearings.

yep this is still scheduled. From now on they would have conferences, status hearings, discoveries till the trial time in 2012.

We have to wait an entire year but the Murray trial will hopefully start on time in Sept.

What . a . total waste of precious time, space, effort, whatever... about this trial. I can't believe a trial for this beyond weird and screaming-out-of-fakeness case will actually take place. And that we're even discussing this .. Funny (or not) how that witness list of Mann's consists in mostly backstabbers and just disloyal figures.

if estate keeps on fighting with idots and his family when they are going o make money for mj kids.and that family is not at all concern about that.i just hope those kids will see through this hot mess called family.

I wonder what Mann intends to prove by these witnesses? I hope he is still not believing that Katherine and Jo have rights to Michael's intellectual properties. Let us see what the judge does with this.

I am not sure the estate needs it, but good luck to them. This will a big hurdle...but I truly believe once they get rid of Mann..things will look less messy.

As an interesting twist in the story, Henry Vaccaro's private investigator who found the Jackson memorablia back in 2002 filed a petition in the case. He claims that he is entitled to 14% of anything that comes from the collection. And he doesn't care who pays him, Vaccaro, Howard Mann or the MJ Estate.

Mann and Vaccaro jointly filed an opposition that the investigator doesn't have any interest in the memorablia. However they didn't provide any details.

On the other side the MJ Estate filed papers from the 1996 case where the Judge decided to sell the Jackson family estates, except MJ's and Janet's. Now they say that Vaccaro have not been entitled to get any of MJ's properties, neither he could have sell it.
This means that the MJ Estate changed it's strategy, and now they are going after the previous court decesions, and they want to get all the MJ related items, not only stop Mann and Vaccaro.

It's really good to see the Estate fighting to protect MJ legacy. They are really digging deep and going back to squarre one. TSCM had a great account of this issue. below is one of his posts.


Re: The memorabilia auction, I'd like to point out what the original ruling was about Michael's items, from an old article from Henry V's local paper:

It was another judge in 2002 that made the ruling that he could have the items in both facilities including the one that had off-limit items from Michael, Janet and Latoya. This ruling shocked everyone including Henry since Michael and Janet were NOT named in the judgement and had nothing to do with the cases and I don't think the judge had a clue what was going on.

So there is nothing "frivolous" about Michael trying to legally get back what is his. The only complication is that the auction house did legally buy it from Henry V. even if he wasn't legally supposed to sell it since at least Janet's litigation was still on-going, so I'm not sure how much Universal Express can be held accountable now.

WTF!? I just dont understand how Michael could go on living with all the madness and injustice he faced.... Its just so creepy how complicated everything in his life became.

Good for the Estate. I applaud their efforts and their going back to SQUARE ONE!

That's right baby, let's start at THE BEGINNING and work our way down. Wonderful move, in my opinion.

Aside from the fact that Howard Mann is going to be spending WAY more money on legal fees then he at first anticipated. LOL!
