The angel and the maiden
There was an angel
an angel who loved a mortal woman. He'd come to her on warm breezy, summer nights, drifting down under a weeping willow tree. That was their place, the place where he lay, they place where she lay in the warmth of his wings, wings so pearly, wings so white, she lay there content through out the night. Stroking gently his wings, his pearly white wings, but in fear of the love that was forbade. In love and in bliss they shared a soft kiss, but before it was over there was a loud clap like thunder, her lover he disappeared. Warned by the creator, never see her again, one without wings....... earthly..... beneath thee.
He dropped to his knees ALMIGHTY PLEASE , hands clasped tightly together, eyes covered in pearls of sorrow, But tomorrow, damned wretched morrow, how will I keep my love? Head upturned to the heavens above, for all the hopes, for all the dreams, this angel...... he cut off his wings. His inner spirit fell, slammed to the ground, heavy and weakening woe for all earthbounds. The angel went to the maiden covered in blood and in pain I DID IT FOR MY LOVE will you love me the same? She was frightend, she was appalled, she shunned him and ran. Days upon days from the weeping willow tree he watched her in tears, no wings, no love, amidst the majestic crying tree.....just like he. On the last night of summer, maiden at her window seat, she heard the sound of singing wafting on the late night breeze, so sweet: "Put your hand out.......... please hold my hand........we can be alright......please... just put your hand out....This life dont last forever (it got closer)......better off bein together than bein miserable alone" Looking out of the window, running outside, falling in his arms, never letting go. No one had loved her the same way as he, being cast out no longer a deity, they fell on to the sweet green grass, the angel and the maiden, I'll hold your hand, I'll lay with you for all eternity.
