Michael - The Great Album Debate

I want to know if Gaz mentioned that these songs were a bad idea to the creative team after the rehearsal... Surely he would've given that he sees how BIG this thread is and how very few people will enjoy these songs!
 
In that case, thank you Gaz for representing this small part of the community. I hope your words were heeded before the tour officially starts, for the sake of everyone attending.
 
They took notice and things are changing on a daily basis, we made our feelings known and they listened.

Lets hope they do indeed use other songs, just to stop this rearing its ugly head all over again
 
Gaz's words have given me great hope that these songs will not go past the rehearsal period. If they don't heed the words of the community leaders, then they would be exposed as hypocrites, and I genuinely don't believe that they would go against community leaders when they have voiced their concern.

Not so small.
I know doubters that just don't come in here for the same reason some believers don't come in here :p
 
Is there a way that the creative team can be contacted just to confirm that they can do something about the songs before final rehearsals? I'm sure the choreography can be kept, just the songs being changed.
 
I think when you say these songs are "controversial" everyone would agree, so it's not the belief of a small group IMO. Our discussion of fake - real simply makes it "controversial".

Opening show is in 2 weeks and we have several members attending to that one so whether the songs are kept or replaced will soon be known.

As much as I'd like you to be correct, my realistic mind tells me it's a possibility those songs to be kept despite the criticism - that's what happened in regards to the album after Breaking News streaming. And many business decision is actually a cost / benefit analysis.

We'll see what happens soon.
 
^^ Yeah, but why those songs? Replace them with Tabloid Junkie, or Threatened if they wanna stick with a thematic approach...Or why not anything else from the 'Michael' album if they're trying to promote and what not? Behind the Mask at the Cirque show? It'd go perfectly, really...

and this was kinda racist "u can hear is a white guys singing, not an african american singing"

Not sure if they are allowed that much freedom. Maybe there were agreements on the songs with the Estate? I don't know. And when the Estates agrees to exclude the songs, because they cause too much controversy, it could also be interpreted as a confirmation the songs aren't sung by Michael. So...not sure this is going to happen.

Anyway, I was talking about the doubters when I said is not a small group.

oh okay. there was another user that wrote "hears" and I had chuckled when I read it. Like I said it's nothing, just I had found the typo funny that's all.
 
I hope they make the changes cause many don't want to hear not even a second of any Cascio songs on that show! Invincibe has 16 tracks so there's plenty to pick from and damn good ones too!

That must be probably a French speaker, they always mix up words with and without "h" as this sound is not pronounced in French.

I actually don't find it racist. This is not a general rule, but sometimes you can tell the difference. There are exceptions of course.

For example, before seeing the singer, I had hard time to imagine that the leading vocals on "Automatic" by Pointer Sisters was sung by a Caucasian singer (it is not!). The same goes for James Brown, Louis Armstrong, Terence Trent d'Arbby, MC Hammer, etc.

However, before seeing the singer of UB40 and Tom Jones, I always had impression they were black singers.

I personally don't see anything racist there because no criteria is really set based on color implying any kind of inferiority or superiority, but based on vocals. It is like athletics 100 meters, you hardly see a white guy winning the race, or the other way round, you hardly see a black man in the swimming competition.
