I think that likely the songs were in very final stages when handed to Teddy.
Now, likely having the complete masters to the songs he maybe could have seen some of the ad-libs and re-arranged them, maybe some of them were mixed together in the actual audio he received.
My opinion, just guessing really, is that Teddy got the songs like Monster and Breaking News in that sort of demo form and he polished them up and completed them more, having very little to do with the acapellas and stuff.
I think him saying that no one can do that "scream" like Michael can is slight evidence that he received the songs with the ad-libs already on and he was fooled by the brain trickery. Or he could be lying.
