I'm so glad the verdict wasn't today. The jury seems dedicated and thorough--if the verdict comes back as guilty on Monday (or at a later point next week), it is certain as Hell nobody can claim they were "hasty" in their decision. It may seem obvious to us (and anyone with even half a brain), but the jury has to go over a mountain of evidence, etc. These things take time, and like Suzy said, some people may not fully comprehend the scientific charts or medical testimony. We have to remember a jury of our peers is composed of all sorts of people, from university professors to bus drivers, so the amount of understanding regarding complex testimony/evidence is naturally varied.
With that said, for the second time in my life, I have faith in the jury's determination to make the right decision. Let us hope I am not proven wrong. It is not often I am overcome by a good feeling.
