Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor"

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

It will keep happening as long as people, and not only the media, keep denying Michael his humanity. No one else has ever been treated like him, because no one else has ever been seen as some kind of "thing" that cant feel, before. People need to be reminded before being Michael Jackson, he was a man, like anyone else.

I dont know if the Estate can do much more than sending letters to the executives. I think fans' actions could be as powerful, because we also are the targeted audience, as always in anything related to Michael. We have to let the media know we wont just watch anything they air just because there's MJ in the title. And that we will watch them. We call the shots here, because we are those with the wallets.

Jackson’s sister: I have no sympathy for Murray

Though Dr. Conrad Murray showed poignant emotion about Michael Jackson in an interview conducted before his involuntary manslaughter conviction yesterday, the singer's sister Rebbie made it clear Tuesday that she has no sympathy for the man she holds responsible for her brother’s death.

In an exclusive interview with TODAY conducted Oct. 30 that will be part of a MSNBC special, “Michael Jackson and the Doctor,” airing Friday, Murray choked up as he told Savannah Guthrie of Jackson’s last words before his overdose death the morning of June 25, 2009.
“It was probably when he was pleading, and begging me, to please, please, let him have some milk,” he told Guthrie. “Because that was the only thing that would work.”

But appearing live on TODAY Tuesday, Jackson’s oldest sister, Rebbie Jackson, told Ann Curry she has little sympathy for Murray or his feelings of friendship toward her deceased brother.
“I do not (feel sympathetic),” she told Curry. “I don’t, because if you love someone, you’re going to do what you think is best for them, not what they want you to do.”

On Monday, Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Jackson, with 12 jurors, after 22 days of testimony, unanimously saying Murray was criminally negligent in administering the King of Pop a fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol.

During the two years between the initial charge and the final jury verdict, Murray’s legal team gave access to a film crew as Murray awaited his legal fate. In footage that aired Tuesday on TODAY, Murray often seemed angry and confrontational on camera, but in quieter moments talked of the bond between himself and Jackson.
(Jackson) said, ‘Of all my life, I have found one friend, which is you, Dr. Conrad,’ ” he said.

But while Rebbie Jackson admitted to Curry her brother “had an addiction to prescription drugs — I do know that,” she said she believes Murray went against his professional oath in administrating propofol in a private setting. “So no matter what the situation was, he was wrong, because he’s not supposed to do that at all.”

Murray talks about Jackson's death in TV special
In an interview for the MSNBC special, Murray discussed Jackson’s drug dependence and his declining state in the last days of his life. “He really could not sleep,” he said. “Have you ever seen the `Thriller’ (video) image when he was made up? He looked (like that) — hysterical.
“He lived a life greater than 100 years of pain.”

Following Monday’s guilty verdict, Murray’s lawyers asked Judge Michael Pastor to release the doctor on bail, pending his sentencing. But Pastor ordered Murray to jail, where he spent his first night after being free on bail since charges were originally brought two years ago.
“Dr. Murray’s reckless conduct in this case poses a demonstrable risk to the safety of the public,” Pastor said in court.

While Pastor could mete out a sentence ranging from probation to four years in prison, Rebbie Jackson believes that any sentence would be small compared to her brother’s death.
“From what I understand, the jails are overcrowded … so he might just get house arrest,” she told Curry. “And it’s sad, because my brother is gone and nothing will bring him back, and that’s for sure.”
Rebbie said that the emotions she felt in the courtroom when the verdict was read Monday were not what she expected.
“I thought I was going to feel as though I got a tremendous amount of relief, but I felt really numb, and not only that, I started crying profusely,” she told Curry.
“Because the reality of what had transpired really hit me at that point … it just sort of brought everything back to reality.”
She added Michael’s children Prince, Paris and Blanket were in school at the time of the courtroom verdict, “but I’m sure they feel a lot of relief.”

“Michael Jackson and the Doctor” will air Friday at 10 p.m. ET on MSNBC.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about the way Michael keeps being treated and I hope our actions have some impact. The problem I see with this is I don't think we're the targeted audience here. The public at large is,that public that goes for shock value and doesn't care if Michael Jackson is not given the basic respect any human being deserves. That is what needs to change, the perception that anything and everything is ok,however invading, degrading or immoral, especially when it comes to celebrities. They are selling this as the gospel for people who didn't care to closely follow the trial and are aware fans won't buy it.

Oh and Rebbie,go away.

Petition signed. I'm glad the Estate is going to fire off a mail to all the channels planning to run this. I really hope that it gets pulled off. It makes no sense, especially when Murray has been found guilty.

there r reports today that Murray got $ 1 million for this documentary.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

This is the response I received from Channel 4.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the upcoming documentary, THE MAN WHO KILLED MICHAEL JACKSON.

The trial of Dr Conrad Murray for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson has dominated headlines around the world. Now that the verdict of guilty is in, this observational and independent documentary provides an insight into Dr Murray's relationship with Jackson and how events unfolded on the day he died.

Further, we would advise that Dr Murray is in no way profiting from our transmission of this film ? our licence agreement with the production company stipulates that he will not receive any proceeds from the fee we pay to licence the film.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

I saw another clip on the Today Show this morning of that mockumentary. Murray was blabbing about the condition of Michael's private quaters which he apparently never let anyone in, including the housekeepers and how Murray had to ask him to get housekeeping or something. He is voilating yet again Michael's privacy talking about all these personal things (probably more lies).

And I really wonder how many more audio tapes he captured of Michael or if he even has video of him taken without his knowledge while in the most vulnerable position.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

I've seen the clip now. Unintentionally, as I was flipping through channels. Murray said Michael was so desperate for sleep, "he was HYSTERICAL, you know, like Thriller." And then they put the picture up, of Michael with wide-eyes, and zombie make-up. I found it to be incredibly disrespectful.

What the ****...

This documentary should NOT BE allowed. Have the Jacksons said/done ANYTHING yet? Seems to be us fans and the estate who always lead the charge to end these disgusting and disrespectful things against Michael.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

Optimum Productions is copyright holder for "Thriller" video, and owner of Optimum Productions is Michael Jackson's estate...

Ok. Well, I'm no legal eagle but I would imagine the people behind Murray's so-called documentary would have had to request permission to use that clip from Thriller...right?

I agree we are not the ONLY targeted audience, but I still know lots of fans who buy and watch anything with the name Michael, wherever it comes from, and without thinking about the consequences. How many still watch crappy TV shows knowing they will slander Michael, just out of curiosity, when it's precisely what those channels want? They dont care whether you like their programs or not, as long as you watch them. It's like having a tabloid burning : first you have to buy the papers, and it's all that matters to those selling.

That being said, I agree a lot of people in search of juicy sensationalism and preferably negative trivia about Michael are part of the audience they're counting on. Sad world we live in. We've got a lot of work to do.

I've sent a bunch of emails requesting this be cancelled, I'll keep an out to see if I get a response shortly.

Turns out that the response I got from channel 4 is the same response they are sending to everyone. Hopefully that means they are having to deal with a lot of mail so copy and paste is the answer.

That's good of you! Like you said earlier, we the viewers call the shots because we put the money in theirs wallets. I think the important thing is if they realize that airing this program will result in nothing but negative they have to react..They'll have loss of viewers, credibility and respect which will obviously result in loss of money..So if they cancel it, I think it's probably going to be a financially driven decision. Hopefully it will be canceled..

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

I watched another preview on Today show.

first of all - the 15 minute interview is going to air on Today Show - tomorrow and friday. 50 minute documentary will air Friday on MSNBC.

In the interview Murray is asked

reporter: is it your theory that he woke up and then somehow in the 2 minutes you were gone injected himself, gave himself lidocaine so he wouldn't feel the burn? is that your theory?
murray: what do you think?
reporter: what do you think?
murray : something happened when I was not in that room

(breaks - talk over video )

reporter: so do you think it was Michael Jackson's fault he died
Murray : nothing that I gave Michael should have ended his life.

then they go to the documentary

Murray talks about Michael's room

"he always had a chamber that was exclusively his and it was reserved completely locked out. not even the maids can go in there.

then he talks about the room he died in

"I had to persuade him to eventually to have it cleaned because it did not smell good. It had mildew and I had to get it cleaned".

then talks about Michael's sensitive side

"I've seen him cry so many times and I told him it's okay to cry. it's okay. it's okay Michael you can cry"

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

So flanagan thought showing pics of mjs bedroom would win them the case. wow what a lawyer.

Well, he was gonna go the character assassination route which generally tends to work when its Michael Jackson except in court where facts and evidence come into play. But yeah, he wanted to put Michael on trial is what I'm reading. So what he played with dolls and climbed trees sir?
What does that have to do with what happened June 25th? I see why they lost so badly for Conrad.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

I am very gratified at the Estate's response. There is NOTHING they can do in a legal sense, pretty sure -- California struck down it's "Son of Sam" law. But they can put some financial hurt on networks/advertisers, in terms of withholding future projects. Media morals seem to be lacking, and the only way for "consciences to be grown" is through the bank-account. That, the Estate CAN do, pretty sure.

I think this will backfire on Murray, in a big way. TERRIBLE timing. Judge Pastor hasn't given a SENTENCE yet, and with this atrocity, he's likely to throw the book at Murray. There is also the issue of restitution, to the family. Not sure, but I think that Pastor can order Murray to pay restitution, and he can be financially ruined and never see a penny of this money for himself. The real winners here? Chernoff and Flanaganorama. I expect they've already been paid, a LOT, from advances from this documentary. I'm sure they padded the bills, too (outrageous payment to Dr. White). So, even if the program airs, it may not be a total loss for justice. There is Murray's SENTENCE, which as yet has not been announced. I hope that Pastor gives him the full four years, with no parole. I just wish the karmic wheel for justice would grind a little bit FASTER?

Thanks Ivy for the update. I don't know what I should say about this comment? Nothing that I gave Michael should have end his life???? Is he serious??? Then, why this man died????? Unbelievable. I can't believe he think he can inject all those drug and think nothing would go wrong. Seriously? No wonder he was making phone calls and text because this stupid doctor didn't know what he was doing and didn't know the risk of using this drugs. What and idiot.

or is he going to say it's conspiracy? Someone sneaked in MJ's bedroom in 2 mins and killed him. Murray is full of crap.

Murray talks about Michael's room

What's this for??????? Oh great! After you kill a man, you have to reveal his privacy?

then talks about Michael's sensitive side

"I've seen him cry so many times and I told him it's okay to cry. it's okay. it's okay Michael you can cry"

What's this about again?? It's just sad to read.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

@Autumn II : Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. If they were really interested in helping Murray, they would have waited until after sentencing to put this thing on the air, but it's pretty clear that his well-being never once crossed their minds. (Now, at least, Murray knows what it feels like to deal with self-serving bastards who only think of their own benefit). I think Judge Pastor will definitely let him have it and put him away for as long a time as he can given the circumstances (overcrowding, etc).

I am also thinking this documentary, if aired, will backfire tremendously and may even serve as Murray's undoing regardless of the stance it takes towards Murray. It will be clear as day he never held Michael in any regard other than his usefulness in relation to Murray's own benefit, and the documentary itself is concrete proof of this. A lot of people are going to be very outraged after they see this, regardless of whether or not they are Michael Jackson fans, especially now that he has been found guilty and is a convicted felon. I think public opinion of him will definitely plummet (if the fact that he's a deadbeat dad hasn't already done the job). That ire, however, will only be directed at Murray himself, and he is now paying the price for his profit by sitting in prison.

So, like you said, the only real winners in this whole thing are Smirnoff, Flanazapam, Baldy, (probably explains why none of them tried very hard to defend Murray--they knew this thing and all the interviews subsequent to the trial, not Murray himself, were going to line their pockets) and MSNBC.

You may be right Autumn and I hope you are, I don't have much knowledge of how the legal system works...The thing is we don't know how for sure if the judge will use this to determine the sentence do we?..Regardless, Murray nor his legal team should be benefiting financially from crap like this..Like you already mentioned earlier about the preview, this 'documentary' is going to have very disrespectful things against Michael..It should never air, it's not right..

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

The documentary is on tomorrow night, thurs at 10 on channel 4. I'm afraid it's us British again at fault (after bashir), it seems to be a london based independent tv company, october films. I've emailed the producer Adam Bulllmore. I didn't pose as a fan but took issue with him about his claim that it was billed as a 'complete and accurate story of what happened on 25 June' as the trial showed beyond a doubt that murray was lying and that it was more a tawdry tale of a doctor revealing secrets of his superstar patient.

adam.bullmore@octoberfillms.co.uk

They've sold to nsnbc, ch 4 and an aussie channel and 10 others are in the pipeline. Apparently it was all set up in november 09 with murray, this was before he was charged but he would know the net was closing in.

Haven't got my reply from channel 4. Honestly the family should be up in arms about this, i saw that email from majestic (not sure who he is, a magician friend of joe's?) which was a waste of space . They desperately need a good respected media pr spokesman. Why aren't they using Mrs J's contacts with cnn? They are meant to be guardians of PPB and i know it's completely hypocritical of me, but this is one occasion where if they use the children to speak out, perhaps release a statement on their behalf, i will be all for it.

I agree that it will backfire for him. Judge Pastor is a no-nonsense guy and he is aware of the situation according to this:

MJJ-777

IMPORTANT – Just spoke to Judge Pastor’s office regarding the MSNBC airing of Murray documentary –

Was told:

The Judge is well aware of the situation with the Conrad Murray Documentary.

The law does state that a felon can not profit from their crime after conviction and incarceration.

HOWEVER, If the terms of the documentary’s purchase where completed prior to end of his trial then there is no law to prevent it. Murray negotiated his deal while he was still presumed innocent therefore, it’s entirely legal.

I said, “So he got around the law.:” Answer, “Yes”

…This makes it even more disgusting. Murray understood the ramifications of negotiating PRIOR to conviction.

Re: MSNBC to air Conrad Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" at 10 p.m. ET Friday Nov

This guy is a sociopath. I waited until the trial to make a final decision, and during the trial it became so clear that this wasn't involuntary manslaughter. And now this "documentary" and knowing what he did during those 2 1/2 years, it becomes even more clear. I'm sure even Chernoff's tears at the end were theatrics for the "documentary" as well. Things don't add up, we also know that he had some kind of plan to use his association with Michael for his own benefit - see the May 10 recording (and I really don't think it's the only recording). We also know that he showed sociopathic tendencies in treating other patients - abandoning them, like Russell, after an operation, the people who worked at his office and treated patients there who were not even medical personnel, not certified nurses, nothing. And he wasn't even there half the time, and the treatments they did there can cause heart attacks. The discipline letter from the Sunrise hospital for not calling in in time and not caring for patients. Then his harem of women, his children and not paying child support, a true sociopath, not caring about anybody but himself. This was not involuntary manslaughter.

I just hope in light of this "documentary", that he gets the full 4 years. And even then I'm worried, I really believe he is a danger to society.

Hello fans. This is Majestik. Unfortunately we are at the cross roads again. The documentary that is being released this Friday must be stopped. I have spoken to Jackson family members regarding this. They are endorsing you 500% in your efforts to stop this.
