Is the hatefulness and tone in 2300 chasing members away ?? I say yes

Do any of you think the hate and venom being posted in 2300 has hurt the board and caused members to move on

Memebrs who post positive in there are attcked and belittled for doign so, Even when I post asking members to address the topic and stop the insults . there are sarcastic replies and Its very uncomfortable even for me . So imagine how members with no power to do anything about it must feel. We have begged pleaded and done everythign in our power to ask members not to do that in there - and they spitefully continue ..

Many enter a thread not to contribute but for the sole purpose of bashing or insulting the Jackson of choice.
Im ready to come down hard on a few and would like permission to remove thier access to the forum to see
if we can calm the tone down and get more members to post in there again.

I would like Everyone to weigh in on thier opinion of the Tone in 2300 and if you thinks it harms this board ?


GAZ I would like to request that you put a few members on hold from being able to post in 2300 to see it it may settle down the rest _ I have many many times stated this action would be taken if they dont stop. So its not going to be somethign they havent been warned of on several occasions - right now they dont take any action we do serious - So I thinks it time to show them we mean business and will not tolerate it ...

We all need to weight in on this _ I really feel this has been a main cuase of us loosing members here. I see many people missing from posting in there. who were once regular. Seems any Jackson supporters or people that want to disscuss the tpic and not attck have been scared off or fed up and moved on. becuase we havent been able to enforce the ruless effectivley in there. They mock and scoff and continue to do as they please - They think its funny .. Its NOT We are not asking them not to voice opinion just to do so in a respectful constructive way and not be Assholes ..

Im very serious about this and Im Angry over what has been going on. I want to do something to change it
Its not right to keep allowing it . It hurts the board and our reputation to allow it to continue - ITs wrong
I leave that forum many times in tears feeling helpless to change anything _ Thats the truth and thats why Im making this plea ..

Some are just sheep following the tone that is set in 2300 and will stop if they have incentive to do that ..

I am going to send this PM message to a choice few and see how they respond.
I would like to even post it in 2300 - so all members see and take it serious

The uneccessary Jackson bashing in the 2300 forum has caused MJJC many problems on and off the board. It has also caused us to lose MANY members becuase of the out right attacks and rudeness that goes on in there. The loss of members have caused our revenue and support to go down tremdously and will eventually cause the quality of the board to go down. This is a FACT - As we speak - We will have to go to inferior servers and take away the extras we offer the fans here. It is a REAL problem we are facing right now. If it continues MJJC wil eventually fade away as many boards have done recently. What is sad is that the members here have been adressed about this problem many times . But it seems some think its a joke or something to mock. It is NOT

All we ask is for members to post with Respectful, constructive criticsism and cut out the hateful insults and bashing in every thread. There are better ways members can voice there opinions without all that .. We have tried to be tolerant and have asked many many times in as many ways that are possible only to be ignored or insulted by the members for trying to inforce these guidlines. If it comes down to loosing our MJJC board or a few members who want to continue with the hate, the Bashing , the mocking and insults ...

We will choose "whatever" effective action is necessary to save this board from ridicule and the exodus of its members.

What will you choose ?

I totally agree and have said it already that imo the staff needs to stand up stronger. Our community depends on it. So take them away from 2300 section if they bash it constantly. I say 2 serious warnings and after that bye bye 2300. Like you said we have to act because they think they can get away with everything they do.
 
Ok guys

This is how we are going to approach this,

I am going to create a group based on general member and donator member that does not have access what so ever to 2300 Jackson Street.

We will then go through the threads and name the consistent haters in there, their access will be revoked permanently.

We will then adopt a two strike policy anyone caught hating will have their access removed permanently.

Give an hour this will be done an in place.

I dont want us to shut down 2300. Our members should have acces to Jackson news or will go elsewhere for it and I dont want to lose more :(

I want to remove some trouble makers in there from having access to it for a time. Jackson haters dont need to be in there If they hate them then they shoudlb'nt mind not having access to them .. the only reason they post is to bash no matter whatthe topic they cant control themselves .. If we remove the instigaters it should help calm the tone down drastically in there.

I know who the trouble makers are and there is no mistake or oops i chose the wrong ones.I am in there every single day and I know who is in there to bash and cause problems ..in every single thread - They have been warned begged threatend pleaded with to stopand it doesn faze them becuse they dont believe we will take any action against themthey become rude and arrogant over it ..

I can post a final warning and send a few PMs to let them know whats up
to give some a chance _ the ones I know who just get caught up in it all and are not setting the tone.

I will post a list of those I know really need to loose access
and Gaz I need you to please back me up and remove them until they can prove themselves to be trusted in there.

Angela :) I assure you MOST have already had 5- 10 serious warnings in there about loosing access
I even posted many times that if they wake up one day and dont have access they will know exactly why?
and dont come crying what happened. Ive tried to be cute, funny, stern, harsh - nothing works and they dont
believe me. They thinks it funny to do what they do in there .. they think they have a right to BASH and hate .
 
Qbee, I very much agree. My activity in 2300 was never as active as the other Sections, mainly because of what you've described. I stopped going there after they started to disrespect Katherine J. , And There are specific members that ignite a topic and after a while its just annoying and members that had disagreed in 2300, take it to the other section of MJJC forums and continue on with their "hate", even if it doesn't have anything to do with the Jackson family.

I saw the back and forth comments on the "MJ Tattoo and Jermaine Jackson Judge", with you qbee and another member and It was very sad… :/ ( I still dont know how you keep your calm in this situations-)! Some members seem to challenge the staff and say anything they want because of freedom of speech. But there comes a time when they need to step back and realize that they're not helping matters by saying half of the things they are.

I agree Qbee. Sometimes I don't want to go in there because of the constant bashing. It's ridiculous. If it bothers a person so much, then stay out of threads about them.
 
Yes Romi last night was the final straw for me personally and its been worse - its just I was posting more and getting more rude replies


Another thing I want to mention that is bothering me and happens many time in that forum and i dont know it mods pay attention or even notice. But a certain member who post Pics and emoticons - to voice opinions in threads but doesnt speak much . Now when an evil cat filing it finger nails appear often under warnings or mod notes I place in threads . I take that personal and as a sign of disrespect _ it doesnt matter it she doesnt say it in words. The message is clear and rude. Now I like Ashtanga - but I have removed her pics and emoticons if I find them to be insulting to myself or others. I just want you to be aware that is not exceptable to do that and is asneaky way to get around our rules of not being insulting or rude to other members. Its hard to tell sometimes becuase you dont know it she is criticing the article or insulting the members .. but sometimes she makes it evident what she is doing.
 
Qbee, let me go look in that thread. I looked. I agree they are just out of control. It has spread to even general members who at one time would not speak that way like Exotic Princess. I deleted Meme's comment in there because it was just unnecessary. She only typed, "I do not like this guy", which has nothing to do with the conversation at hand. When Gaz put up a oll about should 2300 be closed people like Meme and Exclusive voted it closed. They cause many problems in there stating what they don't like not commenting really on the topic. They can be excused from the section, IMO.

Good work guys, I know its hard but your dedication to not wanting this place to suffer is clear for that I thank you all.

2300 has always been problematic. We have come up with the 3 strike rule but I think only applied it to one person. We aren't consistent or do not give out harsh punishments. So I support this non-2300 group. I think if a person cannot comment on the topic at hand, cannot differentiate between criticism and hate, we can simply remove them from that section. It's also a lot easier to follow for the staff as well.
 
Group is now created and badges added.

If any are donators I will also need to add a group for donators with no 2300

I am no adding members,

The next course is to to write up a letter to be sent to them individually explain why. using some of Mickeys first post in here is good telling them what they are doing to MJJC and its reputation and the fact members are leaving in hoards.

I will let you know when I am done.

I think he's creating two more groups. One is "general member no 2300" and the other one is "donator no 2300" so we can move people to these groups.

btw Gaz can this no 2300 groups be read only? I would prefer if they can read it.

I don't think Twinklee has donator status anymore. Her name has turned blue. But Meme is a donator.

Yes maybe a good idea if they can read 2300 (read Only) and they can see how it works with out all the hate
also it will keep them here on the board and not move to other forums to read ..

If they can prove they can post approriatley we can move them back for a trial later on

That's a fair point what's everyone else's opinion on it being read only
 
I suggested "no 2300" read ability because I don't want them to think we are being too harsh or anything. It's one thing to say "look you can't post because you don't follow the rules" but it's another thing to say "you can't read it". That being said I still think that 2300 should be closed to public.
 
Guys

There is one I do not want added - petrarose, basically I can not upset her based on her donation amounts, lets just say if it were not for her MJJC would seriously be in trouble.
 
Thats OK GAz Petrarose is fine .. she is not vicious in there and is managable ..

that way we cant be quoted or attacked outside the board for any posts in that area

plus if someone really wants access it will cause then to join :)
can you make forum Title visisble but not able to access without membership
so lurkers/guests can see the forum titles and be tempted to join so they can read.

Another one to do this with is Michael in the mirror . many will join just to have access to the gallery
make the Michael in the morror forum title visible but only our members can gain access to download the pics.

We need incentives to cause MJ fans to want to join - access to some forums title they see but cant read unless they join

I take it you mean 2300 Jackson Street lol, and yes do not do it through your account - that is exactly what that account is for.

Please can you post the letter in here for us all to use.

Lastly guys - can I please ask each and everyone of you to be very rigorous with this, as Ivy said we have not helped ourselves by not following this through, be consistent and on the ball with this new effort.
