BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For [General Discussion]

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

But I want the world to be reminded of crisp, crystal clear Mike, not blurry, grainy Mike.

;)

I see your point of course about the historical significance of the show, but if you had to choose between watching Michael in great quality or Michael in crappy quality knowing that Princess Diana was watching the same show, what would you go for?

It depends how crappy is crappy. :)

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Although this is just a youtube trailer so I won't be judging on that. When the time comes I'm sure we will be impressed. I mean the DVD can't be that bad after all ;)

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Why complain about it when fans are so obsessed over this wembley show. the estate finally listened to fans. according to the estate this is the only VHS tape existed of that special night. So whatever quality it is, that's what we got.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

VMA -
(obviously better quality. but it looks slightly different. perhaps not July 16 but July 15. dunno)

Teaser -

They are different, look at the stairs it appears in the better quality VMA one theres a red cup and a jacket lying around while in the video teaser there is not.

Yes i notice its different. sorry, was to rash :)

Still, positive thinking

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Not the best quality...

But still - will be great!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I'm sure DVDs gonna look good, cause logically thinking, no one would release a DVD which looks like footage in trailer. I believe it's just a very rough LQ draft included in quickly made trailer, so it can't be an indicator for the real thing.

I hope so. But, my logical thinking told me it's inconceivable to have TWYMMF released in such grainy quality in Visions.

Speaking of Queen's Montreal 1981. I was in BestBuy the other day. They were playing Queen's Rock Montreal Concert Blu-ray. I was blown away by how amazing the video quality is. It's hard to imagine the concert was recorded in 1981, seven year before Bad 1988. The concert was shot in film. At that moment, I thought how awesome if we have Bad Blu-ray and Dangerous Blu-ray. It's such a shame that the only Michael Jackson Blu-ray release is This Is It.

Michael was a visual artist. He revolutionized the music video artform. His songs are not only to be heard, but to be seen. He spent tons of efforts in perfecting his live performance. So, I just can't comprehend the absence of his concert recording in film. It doesn't make sense that the VHS tape is the only recording available. I really doubt what possessions does the Estate have.

I'm not complaining. I'll take whatever I can get. But still, I want to stress the fact that video quality is still very important. It does affect viewing experience.

I agree....I am happy with whatever we can get...But it still blows me away that Michael Jackson, who, as you said, is a visual artist....His performances live on stage are his shining glory...No one performs like Michael Jackson...But it's just so ironic that every release we've gotten of his performances or highly visual videos have been all crappy quality (or at the very best, mediocre quality), other than TII and Moonwalker....It really is difficult to believe that the only copy they have access to is a VHS copy....

It's not being negative, it's the TRUTH....I doubt anyone here can say it doesn't matter...Deep down, we ALL want the best quality possible to watch him....If the quality turns out crappy, well what can we do? It's human nature, though, to be disappointed...

But I'm happy to at least be able to see this concert from start to finish....:D

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Lol no I'm not only Wembley lover.

Screw this! I'm done trying to explain something which you've completely ignored three times now...

You were talking about the audio and video, I explain to you how it would work best and you completely ignore it... multiple times.

If you're not willing to have a debate, why enter one?

Cause I quit it. No point of it anyway.

Also you have nice idea to release LA and wembley as live CD. Now I say it. What else could I say about it anyway. What did you expect ? Lol

You asked why do I "love LA '89 so much" (which I don't, I'd just really like to see it) so I explained how this release could satisfy more people with if they were to do a LA '89 DVD release and a Wembley '88 CD release, which you then ignored and called me a 'LA lover', after which I explained again (in a much simpler way, thinking you maybe didn't understand or properly read what I said) which you ignored again, just like how you'll probably ignore this too... s'ok though.

Raise the questions, ignore the answers...

Screw logic, right?

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Ever since I joined MJ fansites and made an MJ related YouTube account around 2006/2007, the one request/demand I saw everywhere was for the release of the second leg of the Bad Tour on DVD. There were hundreds of petitions on various sites for Michael to release it, but as you all know he never did.

Now here we are in 2012 awaiting the release of the Bad Tour, just a four month wait. The fanbase has waited 25 years for this, and in four months it will be here. People are still complaining? Would you rather have this VHS rip of Wembley 88 or would you rather have nothing? I choose the VHS rip and if you'd rather have nothing no one is forcing you to buy it.

It just annoys me because this has been at the top of the fans' wishlists since I can remember. It's finally coming. Let's enjoy this.

Screw everything, ya know :)

I'm fed up with discussions like this. Dunno why I started. lol

I'll just take whatever I can get out of Bad25. Something is always better than nothing...

Yes, that is right. You know I'm not ignoring this right now, am I?

You didn't ignore it by not saying anything, you ignored by replying with something unrelated to the issue I was adressing. You're right, you don't have to reply to everything, but if you do you might as well reply with something relevant or at least somewhat related.

But hey, forget about it. I was just in a mood for a good debate, which didn't really happen so let's move on.

Hey, I completely agree with you, and I am beyond excited for this! BUT, I'd be lying if I said I'm not disappointed if it'll be crap quality....However, what would I be MORE disappointed with? No release at all...Therefore, it's not a big deal in the big scheme of things and everything else we'll be getting as well :D

P.S @T.N.A and MJJLatvia - both of you, SHUT UP

:D

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I'm not gonna lie, the quality of the footage shown in the clip was a bit of a let down. And I'm sure this is how it is going to look on the DVD as well. It doesn't make sense to relese a clip intended for promotional purposes that is worse than the real product. The streaming of BN at mj.com proved that.

But with that said, I'm still super excited to see the king performing live at Wembley! We've waited many years for this, and finally here it is. Even though the quality isn't what I've hoped for, it's not going to stop me from seeing the show over and over and over agin.

I hope the people who own the rights to the real master tapes one day will make some kind of a deal with the estate to release MJ concerts the way it's supposed to bee seen - in real HQ. But for now, september can't come soon enough!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Oh, another thing.
If this is allegedly the ONLY show they could find, where are these multi-tracks coming from?
If someone had the multi tracks, they have other shows.

I don't get the significance of this particular show!
Why not the 15th?? He did The Way You Make Me Feel there... :(
*bittersweet, i am*

Prolly not before BAD 50!!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

...yes something is better thna nothing thats true, but after a 25 year wait you would think we would get better than VHS quality visuals. BUT seeing as they said they only had the VHS source and its the only known one we cant complain about that. WHAT WE SHOULD be complaing about is Vision, ALL Michaels videos can be 1080p HD like Moonwalker or This is it, however it is not. Cant we get them to rerelease that aswell?

Umm, Princess Diana and Prince Charles? And maybe cause it's legendary concert cause of that? Also as some say, Michael was out of this world that day. So I won't miss TWYMMF. Would be cool though if it was included in extras from another night.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

The fact that Diana was there is nice, but the reality is all the shows were the same at the end of the day.
I'd prefer if they just called it LIVE AT WEMBLEY, so they could use the best-of each song and edit them seamlessly. And then give a credit at the end saying the dates they were filmed.

It's legendary because they were sitting there? lol
