We want wonderful extras in Bad25 DVD campaign

This release will be great.

But I have a feeling there will NOT be any extra material on the DVD. - Just like Bucharest DWT release... :(

But GOD I hope I'm wrong!

We can only hope. If SONY does not fill the DVD I will be disappointed.

But IF we get extra the propably just give us the 1988 Grammy Performance or something like that...

I would love to get the songs he performed on BAD Tour that he did not on july 16th. - Off The Wall, TWYMMF etc. - And best of all some rehearsal footage. To see how the magic was created!

I don't expect any extra on the DVD. I think if there would have some extra on it they would have promoted it.
As they widely promote the others products.

I may be wrong and I hope so :D

The person who uploaded this made a mix of footage from Japan shows from 1st leg back stage (from that Japan documentary), as well as some light-board intro form the 2nd leg, and Yokohama footage, but it's a neat way of how I envisioned a real Bad Tour presentation being.

Showing a bit of before-the-show stuff, then onto the show.

(obviously some stuff is out of context)

^^^^

Some footage like that would be great. Behind the scenes with MJ.

WTH...MJ and the word boring don't even go together. SMH -_-

So I would love to see rehersals! That would be great. Not sure about havin an extra bonus performance from another concert because then I would rather have that other concert too. Rehersal footage sounds more reasonable. But, we shall see if there's any extra's at all? Some how I doubt it. Hopefully I'm wrong?!

im not against extras. but not on that disc. i don't want 7gb (hopefuly), where the concert is 5gb big and full of compressions artifacts, cause they wanted to make some fans happy who can't get enough.

Agreed - the Extra material should not compromise the quality of the actual concert. The concert is after all the MAIN release.

But imagine if they added a bonus DVD with A LOT of extra BAD related stuff!! - Would be sooo great!

i said again something i shouldnt have said, problably.

you forget something. the spike lee documentary. there will be our wonderful extras. its very possible that he included rehearsal fotage and behind the scenes. ;-)

I hope you are right. - And I hope this documentary will be available on Blu-Ray after it has been broadcast in as many countries as possible all over the world!!

There could be a lot of studio and rehearsal footage as extra material on this Blu-Ray release!!! - That would make the documentary a lot more intresting for the fans to BUY!!

Im happy with the release itself. We been waiting 25 years for this. No leak will amount to this release.

I agree with you a 1000 %

This time the estate did listen to us, every little thing we asked. And they did there best to surprise us with the end result.

Please don't take anything for granted. It seems like you are all possessed with greed!! WE WANTED THIS AND WE GOT MORE, so please appreciate this and be thankful.

No, they are not only do this for the money. They do this mostly to keep MJ's legacy alive. Keep that in mind.

A week ago we (including me) were begging for the tour and they've listened to us!

For now, let's just wait for more details in the coming four months.

lol, 5GB encode, what do you expect from VHS, its poor resolution with even poorer bitrate.. todays codecs are super efficient, you get around 2GB/720p encode (with x264) from Blu-ray movie with "almost" transparent quality to original 1080p source. This could compress easily sub 1GB (or even sub 500MB) without any lost, since the source has no detail to begin with. I just hope they don't crazy with DNR and sharpening as it will turn out even worse as I think will be.

Imho, they should find (and buy rights if they dont have them) for 35mm film master of this VHS (they didnt film it on VHS lol) and do proper 4k transfer to digital master, then author blu-ray 1080p encode. Now that I would call proper presentation of Michael in his prime times.

Wembley in 4K would be absolutely amazing!!!

I don't understand whats the point of your post. I know very well how efficient the newer codecs are. And i'm sure you know very well that x264 codec its not supported in dvd-specification. so whats the point of yours. i'm talking about the vhs-dvd we will get. i know whats the best solution is. but it isn't clear if that solution even possible to be made by the estate.

what i expect. the full 7gb to be used with highr video bitrate for the concert only. ~1.5gb for lpcm track and the rest, about 5gb for the video with 8000kbps would be needed. no matter how good/bad they manage to enhance the vhs, there will be flaws because of the limitation mpeg2 with dvd has. so in the end there still will 500mb space to put some nice little extra.

And the "master" of that vhs isn't the film 16mm/32mm reels. that vhs is just from the video feed for the jumbotrons. that video feed was recorded on video either vhs or betamax and given to michael. like there are other vhs copys of rome, tokyo buenos aires and others.
what the film cameras filmed and stored, if there were really any, is separataly from that all. and it isn't clear if there were film cameras, if that footage was edited and if master was created and where it is.

I think in a perfect world we would all love to see a lot of extra performances, but I just don't see that happening because it simply never happens. We might get treated to one side performance or something but that's about it as far as I'm concerned. Someone mentioned the Grammy's but I wonder if that would fall under some copyright issue? I'm not much of a legal expert haha.

I do know that this is what we're getting and I don't expect anything more. I've read elsewhere that people are now hopeful that other "BAD" shows will be released on dvd...and my question is...why? It doesn't make any sense for sony or whomever to do that. They only released one show from the "Dangerous" tour and we never have and likely never will see another official release from that tour. From a fan's perspective, sure there are shows from certain tours that I prefer over others...but a major company isn't going to release more than ONE show from one particular tour. Am I the only one that sees how silly that would be...from their perspective?

If anything, we MIGHT one day get something from the victory tour, but that's likely it as far as official releases are concerned. They're just not going to randomly select a show from the "BAD" or "Dangerous" tours...just because...when they already have shows out there for purchase. See what I mean?

I think the "History" tour is just as unlikely. We said the same thing about the "BAD" tour but that tour is on a whole different level of...value...for lack of a better term.

What I think would be a brilliant extra on the dvd would be the performance of Just good friends with Stevie Wonder from the concert of november 20th 1987 in Sydney.

Stevie sang with MJ on BAD that show, not Just Good Friends.
Would have been nice if they did that, but didn't happen.
