Conrad Murray Maintains His Innocence in Michael Jackson's Death
Mon., Jun. 25, 2012 9:00 AM PDT by BAKER MACHADO

CARLY SEGAL/NBC
Dr. Conrad Murray, who has served close to seven months behind bars for the death of Michael Jackson, remains defiant, insisting that he did nothing wrong.

Jackson died three years ago today at his Los Angeles home on Carolwood Drive, due to acute propofol intoxication. Murray, Jackson's personal physician, was convicted by a jury on Nov. 7, 2011 of involuntary manslaughter.

In his first interview since his infamous NBC sit-down right before the verdict, Murray exclusively tells E! News, through his lawyers, that he still thinks about that night at Jackson's home three years ago.

Murray says he feels bad that he deprived Jackson of sleep that final night, and that his goal was to get the singer away from using propofol. He says that one would have had to actually have been there to see the struggle Jackson was having with insomnia, and that Jackson was unable to participate in conventional sleep therapy due to his addiction to the drug.

Murray says he doesn't have any regrets doing the now-infamous NBC interview, in which he says he felt he did nothing wrong regarding Jackson's death. Judge Michael Pastor said the interview gave him "tremendous concern" during Murray's sentencing.

Murray says his only regret is that he didn't do more, which includes testifying at trial. His appeals lawyer Valerie Wass tells E! News that Murray now "feels very strongly about" not testifying.

Of his time in jail, Murray says he thinks about the injustice of it all. He says he was framed, and that he only tried to help Jackson within the parameters to which he was confined. He says he is an innocent man serving time and that evil was done to him.

When asked if he owes the Jackson family an apology, Murray says no, adding that the Jackson family are the ones who need to apologize to Michael.

Murray asserts that the singer did not want to be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, instead believing that Michael wanted to be cremated, with his ashes spread in the Pacific Ocean. Murray states that Jackson did not want to be permanently confined to a state that he didn't like, California, and the only state he really liked was Nevada.

While in jail, Murray says, he has received letters from every continent, from every race and all have been positive. He says he plans on answering them once he is released, and that many of them bring him to tears.

To pass the time in jail, his appeals attorney Valerie Wass tells E! News, Murray plays a word-of-the-day game with his fellow inmates, which he began after he bought a pocket dictionary and read it cover-to-cover.

"He reads a lot of historical fiction," Wass says. "He probably spends 10 hours a day reading."

Books he has read while behind bars include The Pillars of The Earth and The Kite Runner; he has even read the first two The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books.

Once he gets out of jail, Murray says he absolutely plans on going back to practicing medicine. He says he wants to serve humanity, and that medicine is only part of how he wants to do it.

Murray's attorneys have been trying to get him placed in an alternative custody program, which would include house arrest with an electronic monitor. However, in April, Sheriff Lee Baca wrote Murray attorney Mike Flanagan a letter saying that, due to the state's inmate realignment program, Murray is required to serve 100 percent of his sentence and would not be eligible for an electronic monitor.

DR. CONRAD MURRAY
How DARE You Judge Me
EXCLUSIVE
It's the Conrad Murray video you were never meant to see -- a secret, emotional recording made days after Michael Jackson died ... in which Murray lies through his teeth about his relationship with the singer, blasts the public for blaming him for MJ's death, and even says he's a victim of MJ's deceptions.

The video -- which was never released -- was shot the very same day Murray recorded the infamous "Do not worry" clip he released in August 2009 ... his first address to the public after investigators named him as a suspect.

In this clip, Murray appears much more emotional -- with tears in his eyes, ranging from sadness to anger -- saying, "I can find no words satisfactory to summarize my affection for Michael."

He then proceeds to tell a bald-faced lie -- saying, "Despite our relationships and conversations, I am now made aware through recent media reporting that he failed to share with me any problems involving his alleged addictions with medications."

It later came out during his manslaughter trial ... Murray was intimately familiar with MJ's drug addictions -- and claimed to use drugs as a means to ween Michael off Propofol.

Later in the video, Murray gets aggressive -- saying, "No man, no woman, with the exception of innocent child, is absolutely free of hidden skeletons."

He continues, "Therefore, next time you look in the mirror, before passing judgment or condemning someone, take a good look at yourself, and if you're not 100% sure that when scrutinized no faults can be found, then you may have earned that right to criticize."

Sources close to Murray tell TMZ, Connie's lawyers eventually decided to bury the video because they felt it could only hurt him.

You gotta hear Murray's tone and anger in the video.

FYI -- today marks the 3-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death.

"Once he gets out of jail, Murray says he absolutely plans on going back to practicing medicine." ???

Is that possible? Does he still have the licence to practice medicine?

First payment to the poor conrad murray fund thanks to the jacksons

Hopefully he cannot serve humanity, we all know how his previous attempt ended. If he wants to serve humanity other ways, he can always off himself, that is true service for humanity, if you ask me.

100% of his sentence is 4 years, does this mean that he won't get out next year?

As for rest of his bla bla blaa=bs.

He is annoying as hell with his photo ops and interviews in Michael's death anniversary day, yesterday wasn't the first time he does that. If he wasn't locked in jail, he would have showed up in Forest Lawn to pay his respect.

After completing his sentence he should be dispatched straight into an institution for the serious mentally handicapped people. He's a pathological liar. He doesn't have any remorse, even when you do some harm unintenionally you feel some kind of responsibility, but this good for nothing doesn't feel anything. If he didn't do anything wrong that morning what did he do right? Nothing!!! He delayed in calling 911 & did not aid Michael. Aside from being arrogant he's an ignorant with a degree in medicine.

Not sure if he frightens or disgusts me more :bugeyed :bugeyed:bugeyed I wish I hadn't watched the video.

I mean seriously Murray, you're the victim here?? You're the one suffering though you did nothing wrong?? You're the true humanitarian here?? Right.

That video TMZ posted shows his arrogant narcissism sociopathy in full light, he is crazy if he believes what he says (although it looks like he is reading his statement from notes or somewhere).
I wish the judge could add year to his sentence every time he opens his mouth, + extra year when he says I'm not guilty:mad:
and another year when he says "my good friend Michael".

You should put a warning on this thread that it will raise blood pressure.

This isn't good. He'll have 2 yrs in that little cell brooding on this injustice and i can just see mj becoming the focus of his feelings of resentment. He'll come out next year spitting all types of venom - and no worries about having to pay any money he earns to mj's children.

He will have a field day when he gets out. i wonder if oprah has signed him up yet. the media will drool over him attacking mj and spilling "secrets" it will be yet another nightmare for us and the kids. while thanks to the family he will be making millions.

Wheres that pic of murray from in the link to this article. where hes in the suit. is it new?

Thats what I'm afraid of:bugeyed
He didn't nor has no problems spilling the beans (=lies) already on MJ's death anniversary days, he is not going to change his habits once he gets out. That really makes me scared what he is going to say! It's not that I believe what he says, but stupid tabloids will print them anyway for hits and once again they drag Michael through the mud.

The Jackson family should have shut this creep down by making sure he had to pay Michael's children a huge amount of money in compensation for what he did. Seems he now has carte blanche to put anything out there that makes him money. The family may need to have a rethink and ask for restitution before it's too late.

It is too late. I don't think they can change they minds.

Even if he had to pay compensation, which I agree he should have done, it wouldn't prevent him from giving interviews etc. At least he has to serve the full sentence.

well paying compensation would have made giving interviews moot as all of the money would go the family of the victim. He has nothing that would stop him now.

Yeah, good luck doing that without your license.

And...he continues to be completely delusional. I'm not even gonna bother to watch the video. I might just hurl :puke:

Not all the money as he would still be allowed to keep enough to live on, unless the law is substantially different from here. Doing interviews and selling his story would earn him more money, and faster, than simply returning to medicine, so it could have encouraged him to do even more. Either way, he should be paying it but I don't think it would make that much differnence with regards to the interviews he does as he clealry loves the attention.

Murray is CRAZY, CREEPY, a LIAR and DELUSIONAL all in one! Not good! And to think this is what is to come for yrs after he is out...*SIGH*

I can't wait until he dies. That's about all I've got to say. I don't think our struggles with him will cease until then. And I sincerely hope no one tries to censor this statement--it is my honest opinion and I won't attempt to sugarcoat it. I'm not wishing death upon this unworthy b--tard, I'm just saying, once it comes to him on its own time, things will be much easier for me.

His arrogance and lack of remorse are astounding. And how does he dare babbling about what the person he killed would have wanted?.I've never seen anything like that.He makes me sick.
He's also a coward and a liar. How convenient that he now claims he would have wanted to take the stand, yeah, right.
I wish we wouldn't have to deal with his BS ever again ( and I also wish he would be locked for eternity ),but, like you,I fear he won't stop.
And that video? Here's my response to him : http://youtu.be/j-JmH8VsZA0

^^ Better yet, let's wish him a long and painful life.

Honestly, I don't even have the strength to wish revenge upon him. I just kind of scroll through whatever he says, I'm very tired of it. I want him to end, and that is all. When he ends, all this will end, because it does not seem as though he's going to quit anytime soon. It's wearing me out.

I can't even enjoy anything Michael anymore thanks to this creep. That life is gone.

I hate it whenever we get a news article about Murray. Because every news article is more proof to me that this garbage-party isn't over. And it should have been over on the day he was convicted. Yet, we are still having to hear about him. I don't have the emotional energy to deal with this man's craziness anymore. And I don't want to think about how he is going to stomp on Michael's memory when he gets out of jail.
