Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

BAD25 will no doubt be best release in 2012 !!!!

Re: BAD 25 CD Live at Wembley Stadium July 16, 1988 [Discussion thread]

Billie Jean is the song I'm looking forward to the most on the Live CD

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

I can try to wait on hearing the other unreleased songs. But with Al Capone I just couldn't wait. I just heard it earlier this morning on another MJ site. And I just so totally L.O.V.E. it. It makes me wish that Bad 25 was out right now. It is just torturous that I have to wait another week or so to get it.

Price Of Fame... Those *lyrics*!!

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

Thanks for posting all!

First impressions:
Price of Fame... really cool, it reminds me (a little too much?) of Billie Jean soundwise.

Al Capone... I love this!! Very funky and cool to see how it evolved into SC.

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

I love PoF !!! - It's sooo powerful - and personal, it really is all about MJ's life. Hope there are handwritten notes about that song.

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

Yeah I know it's a common phrase, but how it's used in the song structure... kind of in the same way as in Monster. But let's not get into that. It's awesome.. and Monster not so much.

Listened again to Price of Fame and it also reminds me of Who Is It a little.

A typical MJ type of building up songs in both cases.

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

I am leaning towards liking Price of Fame more...I love his more dramatic sounding songs, I love the bassline, the lyrics, the way he sings 'It's the price of fame, so don't you ever complain!' And all the verses, the lyrics, the way he phrases them, and I LOVE the Asian sound he has in it too (I don't know what the instrument is called)....What a great, great, classic MJ song!

BUUUUUUUT, then I listen to Al Capone and get sucked into that greatness, his amazing, unique falsetto..

So, yeah, I love them both the same :D That's the problem, at least for me personally, I don't have a favourite MJ song at all, it's impossible to pick....These songs are no different..

It's a good conundrum to be in :D

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

I like both, but also prefer Al Capone. It's funky.

Re: Wembley DVD content - discuss Michael, his concert and performances ONLY

I only thing I have to add, and that is an incredible performance, just saw "APOM and HN" and wowow that big energy dance when I saw him I froze to see such beauty, especially the audio is best.
I am proud to be a fan of Michael Jackson!!

Price of fame sounds like "who is it" during the "my father always told me..." verse.

Yes! i'm looking forward to hearing that missing section of price of fame, you can hear a clear cut at 1:59, and that way we can here how the strange instrumental bit starts, such a new sound for MJ, i love it!

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

I think "My father always told me" sounds like "Mother always told me" - from BJ!

Not because of the lyrics, but the melody and all.

Yeah, for sure...There are a lot of little elements that remind me of BJ and WII....The bassline also reminds me of Streetwalker a little bit...Except PoF is much darker than Streetwalker, obviously...He's such a genius in the way he interweaves different ideas from different songs...His genius was endless, really...

Price Of Fame :clapping::dancin::jumpcrazy::jump::bow::upside_down: :wild::dropdead:

BTW, does anybody know what the status of POF is? Is it supposed to be a finished song or a demo? It's sound's pretty much like a finished song to me, at least much more finished than DBMR.

I would like to know too. - To me it sounds like an almost finished song.

One more question: Andy Gibb of the Gibb brothers also recorded a song called Price Of Fame - does anyone know if there's any connections? Who wrote the song actually, the melody and the lyrics?

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

PoF must be written by MJ himself. - Lyrics are so personal it seems. - I would be surprised if it is not written by MJ - and MJ alone.

Well Gone To Soon is very personal as well but it wasn't written by Michael.

Completely different songs, they just share the same title.

Price of Fame for the win! I love Al Capone just aswell, but I can't stop listening to PoF, it's very haunting and dark. I'm surprised it hasn't been released before, it sounds so complete and amazing!

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

Gone Too Soon is not personal IMO.

Gone Too Soon has nothing to do with MJ's own life, not the way Childhood, SiM and apparently PoF.

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

Mod note Thread closed for cleaning ..
I though one mention and a reply would suffice and it would be done .. but it is continuing through the thread.
Several have posted about the casico tracks and then say but no casico discussion allowed in the same post ..
It is quite evident there is no association but if you feel like making one up .. Take it to the Great debate thread.

Thread is re- opened for discussion :)

Re: BAD 25 CD Live at Wembley Stadium July 16, 1988 [Discussion thread]

Guys, do you realize how incredible this is going to be?! I am freaking out. These new clips of APOM and HN has me jumping up and down while climaxing. Praise the Estate, praise science, praise Christ, and praise Joseph Smith, the prophet of the Mormon religion. I'm not even religious in the slightest. But thank you so much for this wonderful release. Now please fly past, time. The wait is literally killing me.

Oh that's what you meant with personal. Well I guess one can be personal on several levels.

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's Unreleased and unheard songs [Discussion thread]

Am I the only one who hears a kind of latin, Gloria Estefan's kinda rythm on Al Capone???

Wow, I can't believe you wrote almost the exact same comment here that I did on a MJ fb-group. This is what I posted there yesterday:
Hmm, for some reason I keep hearing this kind of Gloria Estefanish, latin vibe in the chorus of Al Capone. Oye!

At least someone else also hears what I hear, lol

Re: BAD 25 MJ Demo's unreleased and unheard studio songs [Discussion thread]

Price of fame doesn't sound quite finished to me, the vocals do i guess, but the music not so much, the drum track barely exists, and i don't think that's really some kind of artistic decision or anything, the synths a little rough, compare it to the standard of production on the final Bad album, it falls a little short, i think it's more a high end demo done to a click track that they could have replaced some of the music layers if they wanted to and tightened up without the need of Michael having to perform another vocal track. Whilst i love these synth sounds, they're much more at home with the baby be mine/thriller demo's and the al capone sound (another demo). I think if this would have been on the album, the version we'd be used to would sound slightly differen't in the sounds and production department, but i do think it's a very high end demo, and i do love it :)
