Official Behind the Mask video leak?

Actually didn't like it. Michael wasn't a clubber, he didn't make club music. This concept is out of Michael.. In a Michael video, I want to see Michael himself.

So if they release new videos, they have to use unseen footage from his concerts, shows..

It's still better than the other one, but it's not Michael's style.

I agree to a certain extent. This video is better than the released one, but it's kind of random and... weird. Weird isn't always good.

But what about this video?:
That was endorsed by Michael.

That one is ok, because it's a remix. It already made for clubs, to dance etc...And it has too much work with that. They are just dancing and also montage/edit is so good with Michael.

Girls / boys dancing with Michael's music. So simple.

This one looks different.

But he did enjoy remixes of his music for club music, like on Blood on the Dancefloor, and the official video for Tony Moran's History Lesson

edit: Oops! BeautifulSoul already mentioned it.

It is a remix but the video concepts are not that different. they added clips of Michael in the History lesson in an organic way, having the videos play up on the screens in the club. In this behind the Mask video, I feel like they are implying that Michael might be hiding in the crowd, elusive and mysterious, behind the joker mask. It leaves us wanting to catch a glimpse, to see if it's him... even though we know it can't be. I like it personally.

Wow, why didn't they use this instead? It's way better. I can't even begin to comprehend their decision  They could have released both videos if they wanted.

Oh, wait, nevermind. Thanks for the reupload, it works for me now. Can't wait to see this. :D

I love it ! it was amazing so full of body! as Michael songs are FULL of every thing so RICH ?

What? Michael hated remixes of his songs, he only allowed them because Sony told them how the kids love remixes.

That is really good. I love it. I hated the one that was originally used. One of the strongest songs from that album, and they ruined it with the crappy video that they put out with the fans mugging it up for the camera.

This video is VERY good! Thanks!

Where's the evidence for that? MJ was the executive producer the album Blood On The Dance Floor (HIStory in the mix), wasn't he? Why would he put so much effort into that album if he hated the remixes in it?

I had a strong fever when i watched it first time. This video is a masterpiece, better than the "official".
Thank you - to person who leaked it.

B&W: What do you think of the remixes they did of your songs?
MJ: The least I can say is that I don't like them...I don't like it that they come in and change my songs completely, (*Dear Michael, I don't like it either....poor baby!*) But Sony says that the kids love remixes...

B&W: That is not true! The kids don't love the remixes that much, especially those on BOTDF!
MJ: I knew it! I was sure!

I have seen the Privet Home Movies special and I don't remember him saying this at all, not even hinting at it. At what point in the special did he give that impression to you?

I have never seen him hint at that. I find it difficult to believe that Michael would ever allow a song he hated to be on one of his albums. He fired people working on his albums who were not up to speed. Sometimes he may not have had his absolute way on a song, but I doubt he ever hated the final version.

Ah this interview I have not seen. Thanks for that link. Maybe he did it as part of getting out of the deal to leave with so much of the company.

I have never heard of this magazine, do you know the website? The only Black and White magazine I know of is a photography magazine. When I searched for it, the photography magazine is all I found.

This must be paraphrased, or perhaps translated from another language? It reads more like a short story. I am curious to find t's origin.

I liked it... I think the end could be better, but it's way much better then the fan-videos one.

That just proves that the Estate was doing everything wrong in the "Michael" album era.

The answer lies in the B&W interview. Pluss it makes sense too for MJ as a perfectionist. Someone else messing with his already perfected art? No thanks, jeff

It's the most famous French fanzine that was published and distributed internationally for years. MJ supported it and gave them exclusives sometimes. It's offtopic here, but if you want I can upload the whole collection for you - since you are from Canada, you probably understand French :)

Anyone have photos from Behind the Mask video that leaked around "MICHAEL" album promotion? I remember photo of drummer (we can see him in video).

Actually I am Anglophone. It is mainly the province of Quebec that speaks french but there are exceptions. I sometimes use an online translator though. Now I understand why it reads like it was translated.

Nope, never heard of it. The only Black and White magazine other then the photography magazine I can find searching is from 1891 :hysterical: Perhaps it was more famous in Europe :)

Getting off topic here, sorry. Was just interested in the origin, and hoped the Magazine had an official website but if they are out of print, probably not :(

I agree this is a better version than the official one but Michael spoiled me. I don't hate it, nor love it, it's just MEH.

The only reason Michael released BOTDF with those remixes was because it was part of his contract with Sony releasing albums, not an EP as he originally planned.

Anyone has photos from 'Making Of Behind The Mask'? In 2010 was 2.

The Black & White magazine was also printed in German. What a shame my French is very limited and i don't speak German at all. It seems you can only buy it online.

It's off topic, I know...

I loved this!!!!!

It goes without saying (but ill say it anyway)... SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FAN-MADE/OFFICIAL VIDEO!

Although I do like that one also but they should've released both (why not?)...

Thanks Snow White! I know I don't speak or read either language, but nice to know it's still available.

just a little thought

today after the video leaked a friend of mine commented that they believe the reason this video wasn't released was due to it had a believer element to it - meaning the guy in cloak and mask. and guess what? she was right. now the hoax believers are finding "clues" in this video.
