Well when the one in the MJ One was introduced we had these articles with experts stating that it is really an illusion and that a hologram is a different thing. It appears people use the word hologram for what is actually an illusion, and the Tupac one is not a real hologram either--at least according to these people.

Exotic maybe the Michael image will enter stage, do a tiny dance step and disappear. Yeah I am curious about what song will be used too.

Wait... what? This is is Ellen we're talking about. She seriously couldn't get a hold of a clip from Sony to help them promote the album and instead had to rely on a leaked track? Are you f***ing kidding me?

Sorry, that just blows my mind.

I will admit the issues may be considered somewhat minor now and even less so if this is a smash cd however, there have been some.

… besides literally tens of thousands of people (checked the views of different versions on YouTube)

I think Ellen is awesome, and she shouldn't be talked down to for this. Maybe the DJ was sent the wrong version, or he tried to find it on his own, but Ellen telling the details of XSCAPE at the end sounded like an Estate-authorized promotion.

Is it possible that Tricky leaked the original version and not his own? Can MJ production be that bad? It sounds like dated techno to me, can it be from 1989? Also Estate called it several times "demo" and now this with Ellen. I doubt it but still.. got to ask.

When I watched the clip on Ellen, I said myself that's the leaked Tricky Stewart version of 2010 as well. But we know how successful she is, many people watch her show, I saw it as a way to promote the album and she's a huge MJ fan which is a plus. Thank you Ellen, no matter it was the wrong track.

I agree. The only people who are really going to notice the difference between the 20 second clip she played and the album version are us die-hard fans. The casual listener isn't going to notice one way or the other. Once they hear it on the radio (or YouTube or wherever), they are going to think it's the same song they heard on her show.

At least she's helping to promote it- nothing wrong with that :)

so today we'll check what stargate did on APWNN (and since i read somwhere that they had (stargate) to tell the original writer on a listening session that it was his song i think they worked on some different vocal takes or something)

Oh for crying out loud!

Ellen is a MJ fan. She didn't do it intentionally. I'm just glad she's plugging the CD, it seems she is one of the few people that are doing that.

Maybe Sony feel that Michael can sell himself, but they really have dropped the ball on promotion on this album.

Idk what happened with STTR on Ellen but I'm almost willing to bet that isn't the "original version" that'll appear on the deluxe..

Has anyone compared the amount of time each one plays for (I haven't yet)..

Plus is some article I read recently it stated that the "original version" that MJ worked on with LA Reid is just a bass and drums mix so that must be what they're planning on releasing on the deluxe edition of the album..

The promotion around "Michael" was insane. It was like Michaelmania again, with everyone talking about it. At my college, everyone had the album, or had ordered the album, or was talking about the album. Even people who previously weren't fans of him.

A friend of mine had no clue that there was new material being released. I replied to her on FB after she had posted a status update of "Jamming out to Michael Jackson day". She's going to get it, but she had no idea. This is bad, it's coming out in only a few days.

But in all seriousness... there was the initial announcement on GMA on April 1. It's been all over social media ever since, they're releasing new tracks every day. They've had listening parties all over the world. It's all over the entertainment news shows and all over the news sites (even if every website is just regurgitating the same information, at least it's out there), they even premiered the first single on a nationally televised awards show attended by some of the biggest names in music on the planet. My gosh- I've seen pictures on Facebook with the album cover plastered on the sides of buses in London.

There's only so much Sony can do. It's up to the rest of the world to pick up on it.

I actually don't like the Michael album better. I just said that "Best Of Joy" is my favorite MJ song. That hasn't changed...while Michael was alive, my favorite song was "Someone Put Your Hand Out." It was replaced.

I guess it's possible that she's out of the loop. It is also possible that there is a lot more promotion than I realize. I don't have cable anymore; just use Roku and Netflix and Hulu Plus on that, as well as YouTube. And I listen to NPR a lot. I stay away from Entertainment Tonight and the news in general, because I hate how they treated Michael while he was alive.

I just remember everyone was talking about Michael Jackson in 2010. Maybe it was because of This Is It, and then Michael, but it seems like there was more of a craze back then? Not being critical, I really can't wait for this album, and I'm going to play the hell out of it!

I appreciate the way Ellen appreciates Michael. It's so nice and genuine. Whether it be his music or the cirque shows or to his friends. I wish more people be like that.

Oh I'm with you. I don't watch those shows either. In fact, I caved last night and watched the brief clip Entertainment Tonight did on Justin talking about Michael convincing him to go solo and I hated how they introduced it: "Did Michael split up NSYNC?" - or something to that effect. I understand it was for dramatic effect, to get people to go "What? Michael did what?" but that's how rumors get started, as we all know. Instead of portraying the headline as what it should be- Michael convinced Justin it was time to go solo- they had to try and make it look like he was the bad guy for splitting up one of the best-selling musical groups of all time.

I hated myself afterwards for watching it. Never again.
