Xscape General Discussion

The official music video for "Love Never Felt So Good" has just premiered worldwide! Join the dance party and celebrate with Michael and Justin Timberlake. Watch now! ?#?MJXSCAPE? ?#?MJandJT?

I am extremely impressed with this video! Timberlake did an amazing job with the direction. The dancers are amazing and so many diverse beautiful faces in this clip which is what Michael always encouraged.

Bravo!

I've been doing real good for the past few months... after crying for 4 years and being obsessed everything & anything Michael... I took a break for him the first time in my 22 years of fandom.... THEN I watched this video... and i started crying out of no where... :boohoo 've been doing soooo good these past months but this vid just reminded me again why we have to settle for posthumous album...

It was well put together, I mean they did great in using what they they had... which was just vids of Michael :(

Will watch it again after I calm down i guess.. :boohoo

You are not alone it was hard watching this short film of Michael and yes i too cry :boohoo

You guys... It's here, we're not waiting anymore.. Isn't that crazy?? It's doing great also!! I hope sales continue flourishing and jumping up.. I think this billboard award thing planned, if it's going to be something unique enough it will get the album the attention it needs to smash in sales..

Anybody visiting Best Buy lately? I was looking for any adds in my local Best Buy for awhile. One week before the release date no one employee had the clue about Xscape and yesterday only one person was able to find the "hidden" stock (far away in the back of CDs section) of Michael's new release. The supervisor told me that they have other company responsible for the way the product is displayed and gave me the name and phone number the person I should to ask about the issue. I wonder which way Xscape is "treated" in other stores. Imo people who may like MJ very much but have no time to follow news about Michael (for example parents of young children, who are only into Disney staff, etc) would have no idea that they could buy something for themselves and not only for their kids. What you think about it?

L.A just said Loving You was recorded in 2003 ? Is this correct ? I thought it was Bad era ?

it was recorded during the early bad recording sessions, that is confirmed in the xscape booklet.. to me it's a cherished bad era masterpiece, one of the true greats.. don't see how he forgot the recording era of the track though.... o_O

Sure I know but didn't he do the full "only 15" Hollywood Tonight version, so I assumed he might have done those, too. But thank you for naming the real producers.

Yes he did, but that version (remix) he did was fanmade, not official. He used the leaked demo (before it leaked) and created the music around it, added guitar solo, drums and stuff.

This IS possible, the demo version is definitely Bad era, but, the vocals are different on the new one, I know nothing, just speculating.

Maybe Bieber joins him on stage!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

No way, no no no... Don't let Justin anywhere near the building when the Awards ceremony takes place. If he tries to enter, have security ready to block his way in!!!

Right. As far as I remember he got the "15" bit from the original version from a server... thus my assumption he might have taken "Slave" and "Children", too, remixed it and put it out there ;).

Anyway I'm so happy as I didn't expect other versions of Slave and Children and they even sound so much better :wild: - it's true Michael!:woohoo:

BTW can anyone explain the difference between the leaked Gangsta and the original one? Haven't compared them back to back yet...

not much difference if i'm honest, the bass & saxophones are very different though, could be an early mix.. the ''original'' versions seem to be when they were first developed...

I really like the new version of Xscape, I like what Darkchild did to it. It's equal with the demo for me.
It hurts when I hear the bridge though...

Please forgive L.A. Reid for any date errors regarding recordings. This gentleman's multitasking should be commended. I am sure he is most likely doing his Sony tasks in addition to press for Xscape.

This is an honor for Michael as it is not every artist that warrants a top ranking executive to do press for their cd. It feels good to see Sony treating Michael correctly.

I believe Xscape warrants a television special like the Number Ones. Include the collaborators clips and extended discussion on the process for each track, the remixes for the remixes, Michael's meaning for DYKWYCA, Michael's work ethic and, most importantly, his place in history. They can also include Jerkins footage of Michael in the studio. Air the LNFSG video, a second video for the next single (hopefully with animation for Xscape), the Iheart and Billboard preparations, the commercials for Xscape, Xperia, and Jeep during the broadcast.

There is still much more to do to cement the success of Xscape. First week sales are grand however, longevity is just as important.

By the way, the bridge on Timbalands' BG is just magic!

2014.05.10 - New Michael Jackson Album 'Xscape' - Rolling Stone Magazine Review (MSNBC Live)

That is nice to know. There was another guy from RS online I guess, who wasn't impressed, but it was mainly another rant attacking him personally so not credible.

Is my impression true that the original version has less bass then the leaked version?

Can someone check their Xscape booklet real quick and tell me what year Xscape was recorded ? Thanks

It says a RJ presented a early demo without lyrics to MJ over the phone in 1999. So I think between 1999 and 2000. But they worked on it until about 2002.

My opinion is that all demos MJ are far better than news. STTR unbelievable track!
I have a question please? executive producers have touched the demos?

There is a registration for Loving You that credits Michael Durham Prince and Brad Buxer as coproducers and engineers and things of the sort. Maybe Michael reworked Loving You in 2003 with them, and this is the rendition L.A. is talking about? Just a thought.

But the version we have is indeed from the Bad era. Matt Forger spoke to Damien Shields and recalls when Michael brought him the multi track to mix at Hayvenhurst in the mid '80s.
