Xscape General Discussion

5 years is way too long. They have according to L.A. another 16 completed songs or something. These could easily fit into two more albums.

Waiting five years for the next album is perfect.

Let's say it comes out in 2019. The Sony contract ends in 2017, which gives the estate around two years to choose material, work on it and perfect it. Maybe even 2018.

I implore you all to look at the thread in my signature about a collectors label. You really don't know how good you could have it with MJ releases and how EVERYBODY can be satisfied.

Don't forget LA Reid said he choose 24 songs, that he knew Michael sang top to bottom and he sang adlibs and stuff. He claims he choose 24 that had great melodies he liked. For all we know there could be like another 70 !!!

Loving You
I'm So Blue
Do You Know Where Your Children Are
Price Of Fame

I am convinced that there are an abundance of hidden gems in MJ's catalogue just waiting to be released :)

I'm sure theres piles upon piles of MJ unreleased tracks.
I still believe they chose the tracks they did for Xscape because they were recent leaks and they need to use and profit from them somehow and what better way to do it whilst they are still fresh, but not that i'm critising them because to me they did a really good job...

They were ABSOLUTELY chosen because of the leaks ... no matter what Reid says. It was the same kinda thing with Guns n Roses and 'Chinese Democracy'.
So I'm pretty confident that there are tons more tracks. Hopefully they wait for another few years and then hit us with another excellent album again so its all fresh all over again! And in the mean time, some leaks would be kinda cool for us more hardcore fans. Not too many leaks, maybe just a song or two to keep us going!

Here is the full picture of the Xscape cover:

NO Its not the full picture of the Xscape cover. It was admitted a fan made picture, Plus the left arm needs fixed, its out out of proportion.

Spread MJ's music - let people enjoy it.

It's all about love - The more people who hears it and feels it the better.

Great point Hess. My KG kids just love MJ- they dance to him and love APWNN, STTR, LNFSG and videos like Earth Song (they request that and they are mesmerized by it) Scream, and they want to see Ghost on the last day of school. It's a great thing to see. That is the power of Michael- he touches young and old alike.

It was billed as the "Michael Jackson Experience" on Billboard. It is an illusion .. (Magic) .. however they created it. If they need to use a human model/dancer to do it. I don't mind. The production and set and performance was Beautiful. after the feedback they received hopefully they will perfect the image and the moves.

My kids are fascinated by the production and set. They love the part where he is sitting on his throne. I can see this whole production (set, dancers, performance) as something Michael would have done if here with us. Amazing!

Absolutely no leaks. Remember the drama that ensued with some fans not too long ago when they realised that they had heard almost all the songs on the album before thanks to leaks? No, any future album should unfold organically.

Bit disappointed that many don't seem to be posting about how much they love it.

Maybe it's human nature, but things that we don't like (e.g. Michael) gets so much reaction and yet an amazing project like this falls and the response seems kinda muted.

Do you not all feel like me that this is the best collection of Michael Jackson music for around twenty years?

I feel like a kid again, sneaking every opportunity to listen. Studying the CD booklet & trying to remember lyrics.

Anyway....hopefully you're all too busy listening to post.

Back to the album, it's become apparent to me that although I can see why they chose it, LNFSG is actually the weakest solng on the album for me. If I had to skip any it would be that.

The big surprise is APWNN, both versions are stunning but the acoustic demo is brilliant and one that has worked it's way into my fantasy 'Michael Jackson - Unplugged' set that never was.

That final verse, 'She started liking me, kissing me, hugging me' is just sublime. The rhythm of 'I put my hand in my pocket, got my wallet on out' is beautifully, sonically perfect.

Gah! This is amazing. I haven't typed like this about Michael Jackson music for many a year.

This is brilliant stuff.

I agree. I noticed the decrease in posting right after the US release date and commented on it. It is rather sad when you thing about it. Where did all the excitement go? I thought the same people would be raving about it for weeks after, exploring all the things they love or found interesting. I thought there would be an excited frenzy in the chart thread as fans went crazy finding ways to promote the album. After all it is #1 globally, so I thought I would see fans telling stories about how they motivated others to buy. But I think only Tricia did that and talked about it. Maybe people are talking about it to their friends and influencing them to buy; maybe they simple moved on to the next hype.

I love both versions of APWNN too, but I find I listen to the original more. Another thing is that I find depending on my mood, I switch back and forth from original to comtemporized. It's a win win situation for me!!

With LNFSG I loved the single because I never heard the leaks, so when a new song came out it sounded out of this world to me. Now that I have the full album, of course I could compare and contrast and find another song more appealing than LNFSG. There must have been some reason why it was the first single. Maybe they felt it would fit in with the current songs out there and it is a feel-good, happy song.

On another topic, I wish there will be some story-based videos for the other singles. I feel that would make sales skyrocket even more. Plus I want to buy them.

I am looking forward to getting the cd single of LNFSG!
Xcited! - to see what is included in terms of remixes and so on, as not much information has been made public!

I'm listening to it everyday. in my car or at pc.

i just need to hear his voice.
currently I'm obsessed with BG, i never liked it before.

L.A.:
"I only release Songs which MJ sang from top to bottom, multiple times"

- LNFSG= One Tape!

But why did they used it?
Because it was leaked! :D

I love it, I listen to it every day, on my way to work, at work, home ..everywhere, I'm listening to it right now .My coworkers are knowing all the songs already lol, everybody else when listen to music at work are using headphones , not me ..I use my laptop speakers max volume :D

I never heard it on radio here so I'm so very pissed off about it.

Maybe people are just taking a break to enjoy the album :) .I know I'm doing that big time ..

I haven't posted on here for a very long time, but I just wanted to say how truly happy and excited I am with this new brilliant music. It's wonderful and so well done. I'm so in awe and happy that I'm not yet able to really analyse it all. Just so thankful.

Me too. At first I was going to listen to the album in one sitting, but I never got to do that. After Slave I kept it on repeat, so it was hours later until I stopped the repeat and continued to the next song in the queue. Did this happen to anyone else? Also, I have not seen the documentaries yet. I am still on the songs. Today I left the house at 8:20am and left the original PWNN on, because on awaking I woke with it in my head. Then, when I came back to the house about middayish, I put on Slave, and I left it on repeat until around 3pm. These songs really stay in your head for sure.

No, because it is that Good!! It is a catchy fun breezy song that appeals to everyone, that's why.

Commenting on Petrarose and Tony's concerns about ppl not expressing their enthusiasm more. I believe it is not that they are not excited or love this album. I have read many many posts of ppl very excited and happy about this release. And there have been many new posters coming in here also. I think once they expressed their excitement once or twice they just went back and listened incessantly and I'm sure are still listening but don't bother to come in here as much. But I truly feel the enthusiasm and support for Xscape. I went to Amazon and read the GREAT reviews also, that kept me there for quite some time. We are all over the place, YT, radio requests, actually telling our friends and family about it.

So, no worries, WE LOVE this and we are grateful for this wonderful music.

Tony- I also love those parts you mentioned- aren't his vocals POWERFUL - I just can't get over it.

Also forgot to mention. I stop posting for a day or so ha ha because sometimes it gets very negative here. So maybe ppl just enjoy it outside of this forum. But I am back. :cheeky:

NO NO NO leaks please! Thankfully I hadn't heard LNFSG and APWNN like many had, but I know there were so many fans just outraged that they had all these leaked songs on the album. AND my advice to all of you, just DO NOT listen to the leaks. It's not the estate/Sony's fault fans listen to leaks - those are illegal anyway.
