MJ and Queen world premiere!!!!!!!!!!!

I must say I like this new mix. It's finally giving the two greatest singers of all time the shared spotlight they have both deserved since the songs were recorded. I'm sure there was a 50/50 agreement made between Queen and MJ Estate about future songs so I have faith that we will ehar Victory and State of Shock eventually.

Nice mix, although I expected more of duetting (like in the fanmade version). This way it's first verse is Freddie solo and second (and third?) verse is Michael solo. But maybe that's the way they recorded it originally.

I have to say I preferred the fan version in terms of them sharing vocals. I mean it's more like a real duet than a Queen feat. MJ song.

Queen, Michael Jackson song 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' debuts
By Lewis Corner

A long-awaited duet by Queen and Michael Jackson has premiered on radio.

The track - titled 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' - was given its first play on Chris Evans's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning (September 19).

The track was originally recorded between 1982 and 1983 by the artists, but ultimately only Mercury's solo version appeared on his debut album Mr Bad Guy in 1985.

The duet form of 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' also briefly featured in The Great Pretender, a BBC documentary about the life of Freddie Mercury which aired back in 2012.

A demo of the collaboration has been floating around online for a few years now, but this new final version has been produced by William Orbit.

The new version of 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' is the first cut to be previewed from upcoming album Queen Forever, which is scheduled to be released on November 10.

Actually the song and the mix are amazing. Again it's our own fault that we expected something else because we listened to the stolen leaked versions. Imagine if you were hearing this for the first time! You would all be crying! That's it for me for the leaks, I'll never ever listen to another stolen song!

Maybe, but that's only because then we would not know that there are enough MJ vocals for it to be a duet, not just a "featuring" song...

After 1:20 Michael's vocals are either solo or louder than Freddie's. I think it's enough MJ.

Also I'm sure at some point that the Estate will release their version (maybe solo, maybe a duet with more MJ vocals if Queen allows that) and the original version.

Official youtube video and iTunes link would be right thing to do now. Come on Queen!!!

Love the mix, but,

The guitars/back track is way too loud. Freddie's voice needs to be louder aswell. MJ's voice needs to be louder in some parts (but can be fixed by not making the backing tracks so loud). And I also feel that the 'shared' duet like it was originally recorded/intended to would've been better.

But worst of all is the 'off' timing of 'I live in hope' of MJ's vocals. So amateurish and out of place, so to me there really needs to be some fixing before they release it on the album and I hope they will actually do that.

Besides all that, I really like it, but I fear we'll have to wait years (or forever) to finally hear a finished version of State Of Shock or Victory...

You don't know how it was "originally recorded/intended". We only have this new mix, Michael's solo demo with Freddie on piano and Freddie's studio version from Mr. Bad Guy. Maybe MJ and Freddie never talked who will sing which part.

Anyone else notice Freddie says "people DYING for their human rights" instead of Fighting?

Is this the only MJ-duet song on this new Queen album?

I'd imagine at least one of the other two tracks will be used by MJ's estate in the future. Freddie write and released this song which is why I'm guessing the estate allowed this to be released.

Maybe it's just the SoundCloud/YouTube quality, but the mix sounds terrible. Way too tinny and the backing track is too loud.

It's the way it's mixed, sadly. Makes it almost unlistenable

It is very listenable to me. It's on repeat all morning. Also don't expect CD quality from radio rip. Just wait little more, we'll get CD version soon enough.

It's nice to hear their voices but the sharing vocals were desproportionated, unfitting for Michael but what bothered me the most was the country tune. Neither Queen, nor Michael are country. I hope Brian and Roger can fix it.
