As this song recently leaked after a long waiting and teasing, what do you think about it?

IMO, it resembles "Smile", both have '30s/'40s sounds and are very orchestral, showing the soft and fragile MJ's voice.

Yeah, it resembles Smile and Childhood in that they are all musical/Disney-like.

Wasn't sold on this when the first extract leaked and nothing's changed here. Very ordinary for my tastes; nothing I would listen to again. 3/10.

Glad everyone else is enjoying it though! Thanks to the person who leaked it for bringing some positivity into the forum.

Love it! Very disney-esque as respect pointed out. I really like the how songs end "Voooooooooooiiceeeeeees"

I think it's a cute little song. Don't see it played on radio...but could fit in nicely on a soundtrack of some kind in the future. Beautiful lyrics and vocals.

I look forward to hearing the full version if it ever gets released. The subject matter of the song especially has intrigued me for years.

edit. oops never mind looks I managed to find the whole song after all! Ugh the piano accompaniment + orchestra sounded so lush along with MJ! And the choir at the end....:swoon:

Just like other posters have already noted, it definitely sounds like something you would hear in a Disney film/ musical.

I agree I think this is really quite terrible for me its in the same group as 'if you don't love me' just boring. btw are you still working on that document of song info?

Seeing Voices Leaked in Full!

It'll be taken down soon no doubt, so enjoy while you can!

I really love it-I picture waltzing a la "Beauty and the Beast" and think Michael would have slayed that role too.

I remember talking to a friend of mine after Michael died (and I had about 15 years of silence and frustration piled up) about the bad reviews he used to get on songs like this-where the critics would ridicule it by calling it "Disney drivel"-and I thought-wth-I LOVE DISNEY DRIVEL. Disney has written some of my favorite songs of all time.

Here's a copy from You Tube.

While I heard the first snippet that leaked along with that ghost stuff, I wasn't really hooked.

Listening to what leaked now, this man never ceases to amaze me. I too had images of Disney movies all over listening to it. It doesn't have to be your type of music or whatever, but I will never understand how he was able to switch so smoothly in every single music direction. He was able to do it all! Many artists try and fail, and he just seems to do it so effortlessly it's mindblowing.

Beautiful! His voice is so strong.

While listening to this the thought of this song being in a Disney animated movie popped in my head :)

And the winner of the Tony Award for best Broadway play goes to "Seeing Voices." This is what I was imagining!

Seeing Voices: A Journey Into the World of the Deaf is a 1989 book by neurologist Oliver Sacks.

The Disney feel comes from Sidney Fine, co-writer of the song. He already did musical compositions for Disney back in the 1940's and 1950's among others.

^i don't think you're alone. The song is on another thread yesterday and everyone was raving. I replayed it on YouTube for a couple of hours myself. It's just beautiful.

Wouldn't that be wonderful? I hope someone from the Estate sees your post. I can absolutely picture this too.

The reason behind the song's composition made it even more special, inspiring touching. It's an absolutely beautiful track and Michael's vocals are out of this world, his performance is perfection. It doesn't surprise me he'd love and record something like Seeing Voices knowing he was a huge Disney fan. It sounds like an old fashioned Disney score from the 1950s like the work Sidney Fine did in The Lady and The Tramp.

Re: Seeing Voices Leaked in Full!

What a great song!!! Michael is THE BEST...

Does anybody know how this leak came about?

Who leaked it?

Re: Seeing Voices Leaked in Full!

so so different for Michael.. While I know he has dabbled in many styles that we never had the privilege of hearing.. It's nice to hear one! Especially considering how much of a fan he was of old school musicals and Broadway style themes.

Michael Jackson’s sign language children choir
June 26, 2009

Two weeks ago Michael Jackson made requests for his comeback concert – he wanted a choir full of sign language children from a variety of ethnic backgrounds for his concerts in London next month. Michael Jackson wanted every child to know sign language and they should be in the age of 5 to 13 years. His request was sent to casting agents on behalf of promoters AEG Live, who were organising his 50 concerts.

There was a rumor that Michael Jackson knew sign language a little bit. Some people said that Jackson flashed “I Love You” signs. Fookem and Bug team were searching for the information about his “I Love You” handshape. However there is no evidence of his signed message,

In April 2000 Michael Jackson recorded a song for Sony called ” Seeing Voices.” The song is about “signing”, the communication language of the deaf. It features Sidney Fine’s music andlyrics and Ray Charles’ choir.

Sidney Fine

Fine’s last work was a song recorded in 1999 by Michael Jackson (but still unreleased) entitled “Seeing Voices.” Jackson had been a student of Fine’s wife; the song celebrates signing for the deaf and was a tribute to Fine’s son, Peter, who died in 1975 of a rare brain disease that had caused him to lose his hearing.

The vocals in this piece are astounding I cannot believe he didn't pursue something as enthralling as Broadway, I know classical pieces were in the work before his untimely demise I have no doubt they oooze with genius!

Hadn't realized this leaked in full. Yeah, see this song shows that Michael was so much more than just a pop star. I believe this would be the kind of music he would make for films, had he the chance to.

I 100 percent agree, he wasn't just a dancer or singer, there was so much intelligence, talent made him so dynamic. It's hard to fathom someone with that much talent existing and we still hadn't seen hm at his full capacity!

Andrew Lloyd Webber has said that Michael desperately wanted to do the film version of Phantom. But this is when it had not been running very long and Webber said he was afraid a movie version would kill ticket sales.

He said after Chicago was such a hit and the stage version continued to go like gangbusters, he was sorry that he didn't do it when Michael wanted to. (Between Bad and Dangerous).

Since he cast Madonna as Evita, I definitely believe him.
