New Official "Say Say Say" Remix Coming October 2015

^ Did you buy it on iTunes? I am checking out iTunes and it is not yet released in my country.

I'm in New Zealand and it's 1.05am on the 2nd of October. It's available to buy right now on Google Play (yes by itself) and I'm streaming all of Pipes of Peace on Spotify, which is where I played the remix originally.

For whatever reason, iTunes is still holding it (and a couple of other album due for release today) as 'pre-order' so when its made available in the next short while, I'll buy it on there :)

Is the video for The Man available digitally?

Also can anyone comment on the remastering of the audio? My copy of The Man ain't in great shape so I'll buy it again if it's a good remaster.

Yay picked up the songs on iTunes! Like I said earlier, when it comes out in your country you'll be able to buy the remix by itself: :)

Guys I just played the full version of the new extended remix!!

Obviously, the sound quality is far superior to that crappy leak from a few days ago. A few very quick comparisons show between the official version and that Soundcloud link show that the remix were actually legit on that leak (just filtered badly for whatever reason). The official version is a good few seconds longer than the Soundcloud link too.

The song itself though is great! The vast majority of the song is sung by Michael. At around 3 minutes 15 seconds you also hear MJ ad lib along too! Personally, I might've liked a few more Macca vocals (since I love them both!) but MJ fans, you're in for a treat :)

Well if that's the case, I may have been wrong about the Cascio tracks. I've always been really good at recognizing MJ's voice. This has the same kind of vibrato as those tracks to me. Not to start any controversy, just pointing out how similar they are.

Oh please, the Casico tracks are not even close to this Say Say Say. And the vibrato is not the only thing wrong with them.

Haha I wasn't saying they were the same. Only that the vibrato is similar. Oh I still know for a fact that the Cascio tracks are not MJ. I was just pointing out that I could've have been mistaken. Historic already says that the CD version is much clearer than the the soundcloud rip.

The Cascio tracks are just horrible singing through and through. It is not just the vibrato, it is the whole singing. This sounded a little weird to me on Soundcloud but definitely not Cascio level weird. Nowhere near. Let's listen to it in full quality before judging.

Thank you for confirmation that is indeed the official remix. It is unfortunate your confirmation of the remix is also confirmation it was Michael’s voice for some. This is why the Cascios (and Estate/Sony) were successful with duping some fans. Some fans truly do not know the sound of Michael’s voice.

Although highly distinctive, his is a voice extremely versatile as well. Considering that and technological possibilities "he" could be placed on just about any record or the genuine article kept hidden in the background of songs without even appearing in album credits. Notwithstanding the 2010 incidents, I don't think this remix could actually be compared with certain tracks from that album. The voice here is obviously his.

We turn every thread into a cascio track thread so fast easily.. that's a whole separate monster on it's own. way too much to talk about just to casually bring it up.. Especially when the fan base is semi split in what they believe, Some believe 100% NOT MJ, some believe SOME MJ, and some believe ALL MJ..

we open that can of warms so often, we are just opening ourselves to debates that go way beyond the specifics of a thread.. It's so hard not to though....... haha

i love that remix/remaster! heard it in high quality now and mike sounds SO good.

how come we get alternate vocal takes on a paul mccartney project, but not on MJ releases? i would love to hear all the vocals mike did in his life ...

Probably because Paul owns his master recordings. They don't belong to a record company like with most acts, he just leases his music to them. I think it's Concord Records now. The Beatles masters are owned by a label though.

Hahahaha. Someone try to turn this into a Cascio debate? Please...

Can you post it here? I bought the album, but I won't get amazon mp3 rip until the album is released. Don't know if that is our midnight or theirs midnight?

I wonder if the man is going to have any footage with Michael or just regular home video footage from Paul

I read that the footage is Paul's family and Michael and a candid scene where Michael is riding horses with them.

I look forward to the footage, I know I might be asking for too much but I hope its more than like a couple 2 second clip where it will be used for a quick screen grab.. lol!! call me spoiled.. or "wanna be spoiled" but I treasure MJ footage

I could hear the remix on Spotify, does it have predominantly Michael's vocals? Don't get me wrong, I loved it and I was thankful whoever did the remix didn't destroy and change the original melody of the song but in the beginning Mike's voice sounded way too altered.

The estate owns Michael's masters.
I didn't say anything about Mike's masters. I said Paul owns his (Paul's) masters. Say Say Say & The Man would belong to Paul, hence Paul is in charge of any extra vocals, not the Jackson estate. Mike is a guest on Paul's record. Just because Mike is on a record does not mean the master belongs to Mike. The estate has nothing to do with any Motown stuff or guest songs he sang on like Kenny Loggins and Joe Carrasco.

I think they both have rights to the masters and the Estate has to agree for the remix, otherwise he could not release it.

DuranDuran, you responded to Dangerous' question (how come we get alternate vocal takes on a paul mccartney project, but not on MJ releases?) that it was probably because Sir Paul owns his masters. The estate owns Michael's masters.

Unless Mike had some special agreement with Paul, guest performers have no say over someone else's master. Even if the guest has to approve their vocals being used, it does not mean that they are in charge of the master recordings. In some cases the label of the guest refuses permission to release something if the host act is on a different label. Still the label of the main performer owns the master (or the main act itself if that is the case), not the guest. If that was how it works, anyone who sings or plays on a song can own the master. That would be a big legal problem.

Sorry, my mistake. :D I thought since you responded to that portion of my comment, you had mistaken it for me saying Paul owned Mike's masters.

Just downloaded the remix off of iTunes. After listening to it closely, I think it's definitely him, the ad-libs at the end sealed it for me. How exciting is it that we get unreleased MJ vocals and a new album from Janet on the same day?!

DuranDuran, no worries.

Side note: Sony/ATV owns the publishing for Motown.
