New book: Artworks of Michael Jackson

Off-topic, rude, and a personal attack all in one.

Michael's artwork is the topic.

And warranted as I to feel the same, it's not an attack it's pointing out a fact that time after time it's your name that is in the mix. seems even the 30 day (extended to 60 day) ban did not have an effect. so for the last time can we please stop this endless bickering derailing and drama.

Thank you...

Anywayyyy!!!! BOT.... if you please.

Back on topic? Agreed!

This quality, affordable book is a MUST for any MJ fan. Purchase legally from Amazon Germany NOW. The only regret will be not being an owner of this book.

I've always liked his self portraits and I love the Thriller ones-never saw those before.
I'd probably buy it if it were in English.

“And that's what innocence is. It's simple and trusting like a child, not judgmental and committed to one narrow point of view. If you are locked into a pattern of thinking and responding, your creativity gets blocked. You miss the freshness and magic of the moment. Learn to be innocent again, and that freshness never fades.”
― Michael Jackson

I have no plans to purchase it and no regrets about the decision.

The forum could do without you...
Many here have been witnessing you only causing one argument after another. You are looking for conflicts.
In every thread I see your nickname popping up it's always the same unnecessary drama.

What an incredibly rude thing to say to anyone!

You do know that in any conflict there are at least two parties involved. Whatever opinion Tygger has expressed on this forum, I have never ever seen him or her ever become uncivil or attack anyone personally the way s/he has been attacked on this forum, the post I quoted being, I guess, the latest example.

Where the book is concerned I will say that I am not going to enrich Dieter Wiesner by purchasing the book.

However, I do hope that one day a serious and well known publishing house like e.g. TASCHEN that is specialized in art and art history will offer a book on Michael's art, maybe accompanying an exhibition? I do believe this might very well happen in the future, it's just a matter of time. I keep my fingers crossed!

That took courage to say publicly.

It is appreciated.

Thank you.

ditto. Pigs will learn to fly before I regret having a position against MJ's art being taken from his Estate and his rightful heirs (his kids) in a quite questionable way.

They ARE still in court on this, right? I know it's allowed in Germany, but publishing and ownership is not settled in US or rest of the world?

They are in court with Tohme. Not BLS or the artwork specifically.

If telling the truth is considered to be rude, then let's call Korgnex statement rude then. I've been here for 7 years anf I've haven't seen any other member causing more unnecesary fights and drama in the frum than Tygger just because he/she can't stand others disagreeing with him/her and when they prove him/her wrong.

This is precisely why I won't support the book. Michael's children are the rightful owners and the drawings must be in their hands. Whoever have them in their possession, either Tohme or BLS, are thieves.

Reminder: ownership of artwork and ownership of reproductive rights of said artwork are two very distinct ownership types that are being confused.

nothing is being confused. As an alliance MJ and BLS shared those rights. Then Tohme "gifted" everything to BLS. If you think Estate/ Kids have any type of ownership remaining on those artworks sadly you are mistaken.

Didn't Brett L'S form and register that alliance after Michael passing? He registered something (alliance) regarding himself and Michael on 06/25/2010, year after MJ passed?

alliance was created in 89. but he registered transfer of MJ's rights to him in 2010. No other than Tohme's lawyer Hawk was BLS's lawyer as well.

^Wasn't that transference illegal? Now, it's more clear to me why BLS reproduced Michael's artwork on that book.

the answer to that depends on your take of the letter Tohme wrote and signed "gifting" all rights on the artwork to BLS. Do you think it was legit and done with MJ's knowledge and blessing? If yes than the transfer is legal.

If you ask me, it is quite questionable. BLS and MJ hadn't seen each other since mid 90s. They allegedly reconnect in 2008. In this time Tohme writes and signs a letter gifting BLS the artwork and all rights. The letter doesn't have MJ's signature or initials on it. Tohme has at least one other example of abusing his power of attorney (Julien's auction that Tohme signed and Michael later fought to cancel). There is also the Hawk connection. Hawk is a lawyer that has a office where BLS has his studio. Hawk was a lawyer for Tohme. He also represented BLS during copyright transfer registration. Oddly enough even though the alleged "gifting" happened in 2008/2009 BLS didn't register for copyright transfer until 2010. BLS tried to sell the art for $88 Million. Sale didn't happen because Estate wouldn't give a release , reportedly Tohme was asked to authenticate his "gifting" letter but he refused to do so. Then BLS donated some of MJ's art to a children's hospital. Which seemed like a nice gesture but it turned out it wasn't MJ's original art, It was just replicas/ prints being donated. Now the book is being released by Wiesner in Germany. Wiesner is another person who had legal issues with MJ and his Estate.

So you tell me. Which is more likely to be true?

I am intrigued that the 'Jackson-Strong Alliance' seems to have been registered as an LLC in Sept 14. The 'Principal ' is named as Brett's son.

A company report was due in September 15......

I wonder what this is all about?

File Number: E0467972014-8

Regardless of the history, until it is legally decided otherwise, this book of reproductions is being sold legally.

I see the usual suspect promoting the unscrupulous commercial exploitation of MJ. surprising not. This so-called book is unauthorized by his estate. moreover his estate or his children do not benefit from this unauthorized exploitation.

MJ was not a slave and therefore should not have his work be exploited for nothing in return.

I hope the estate lands on Tohme like a ton of bricks. This dude has caused so many damages to MJ. What a waste!

Passy001, you have confused promotion with fact.

No worries. It happens.

it's a fact that you are promoting this book here.

It's also a fact that MJ owns this artwork. and this exploitation without the permission of his estate is simply a sham.

Passy001, you may have noticed others have purchased the book and have given grand reviews. It seems I am not the sole promoter.

It is not a fact Michael owns these artworks.
