I yanked this info from Twitter (but I checked it myself and it's still pretty accurate except on YouTube Bruno seems to only actually have 23M views).

Super Bowls most viewed on YouTube: 1.- Beyoncé 37M 2.- Katy Perry 27M 3.- Bruno Mars 24M 4.- Michael Jackson 21M

MJ is legit hanging with artists/entertainers that are still alive, making music, and performing.
He has the most longevity that I've seen a modern solo artist have.
I'm so proud of my fave.:D

Beyonce is still alive, making music, and performing (just like Katy and Bruno), so her videos in general are bound to have more traffic then Mike's.
Of course I would like for Michael's video to have more views, but at least he's there in the first place.
For real tho, Prince and Madonna (Michael's own peers) aren't even on the list, so I can't be mad.

I so wish it'd get remastered and we have a high quality version of it uploaded. The official NFL channel has a great quality version of it at their disposal as well given they uploaded the below video a few months back.

Prince tended to pull videos that people uploaded on Youtube & other websites, so I wouldn't expect him to have high numbers. People started posting his stuff after he died. It stayed up a little while, but a lot of it is starting to get takedown notices again, or at least the studio recordings are being taken down and also a video of Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood performing Purple Rain.

Dang, his estate ain't playing around with copyright, but in the end I think doing stuff like that will hurt Prince's legacy more then help.

Actually new videos always have a big advantage on YouTube. So it is not surprising at all that current SB performances are the most watched. MJ being 4th with a performance that is over 20 years old is a lot more impressive.

Exactly. There are a lot of kids out there who may not know MJ did the Superbowl.

May be fourth most watched on Youtube, but it is widely regarded, Prince's 2007 Superbowl appearance was the best ever. MJ was great too, but Beyonce - I mean for real.

IMO beyonce is a great performer, and probably the best of her generation, but to put her on the same level as MJ, Prince, or even Madonna is delusional.
As an MJ fan I look at MJ and he was/is the WHOLE PACKAGE whereas Beyonce can put on a great show, and make a good music video, but she can't even outsell her own peers.
If you want to be in the conversation of being on the same level as MJ, Prince, or Madonna your numbers should match your popularity.
IMO you'd have to put together Adele, Beyonce, and Rihanna to even begin to equal Michael, Prince, or Madonna.
This isn't a knock against Beyonce, but overall she just hasn't accomplished enough to be seen as a high tier legend.
However, I do consider Beyonce a legend along with Rihanna and Adele, but I consider them low tier legends. :)

I'm glad Michael has those kinds of numbers, but I expect that. He changed the game for NFL half times and made it the must see tv that it is now. People like me who had never seen a Super Bowl were watching and still talk about it.
Every year the NFL runs programs and docs on half time history or names the best 10 half times of all time and he's always #1.
What really surprises me in a good way is Bruno Mars' numbers. I know why I noticed him and like his music and showmanship so much but I'm glad to see it's universal. He's a rare performer that appeals to young and old, all races and sexes.

Yeah, I'll give it to him (from what i've seen as a non fan) Bruno is pretty good.
He's also a HUGE MJ fan and constantly cites MJ as his main inspiration.
I read somewhere that he actually said that every entertainer should want to be like Michael.
He needs to greatly improve his dancing and make his songs memorable though (Uptown funk doesn't count because he was featured on it and it wasn't his song).
But then again compared to everyone else right now he could be perfectly fine, and my standards could be high because I'm an MJ fan. :D

^^ive liked most of his songs, which is real unusual for me-and I think it's because he has a retro feel and look and sound. I give him credit for bringing MELODY back. At the same time he appeals to the current young generation with his funny sense of humor and snappy comments on social media.

He's actually the first male singer that made me turn my head and take notice since the early 80s and made me go run and look his bio up.
Even tho he was both a Elvis and Michael novelty act when he was a baby, I like the fact he doesn't copy Michael's moves and dances and goes to the James Brown -Jackie Wilson well of inspiration. That's his fathers love of music that filtered down to his kid. And he always speaks of Michael in the most admiring way. You never hear him say "oh, because of him I got my falsetto" or "because of him, I knew I could sing" and stuff like that. He knows Michael is the top dog and says so.

I've also noticed that every time a singer is interviewed that I loved as a kid (I'm Michael's generation) is asked "who do you like now" they also answer Bruno Mars. So it's not just me and I'm not crazy. :)

^^^^
THIS!
He knows MJ is the best and let's everyone else know it too(unlike SOME other entertainers/artist).
I clicked on some interview of his on YouTube because MJ was mentioned in it, and when the interviewer asked him about MJ comparisons he made it CLEAR that there will only ever be one MJ.
Although I don't listen to his music, after seeing that interview and finding out that he said all entertainers should want to be like MJ I gained some respect for him.
IMO Bruno isn't on the same level as Usher or Chris Brown, but he definitely has Justin Timberlake and the Weeknd beat. :D

I did not know he had also impersonated Michael, I've only seen him when he was really tiny impersonate Elvis, and I absolutely loved him as a little kid. so I went to Youtube to watch some videos of him impersonating Michael, and that made me cringe, it was AWFUL. he was better at doing Elvis at age 4, than he was at doing Michael at age 16

I imagine that MJ would be the hardest entertainer ever to imitate.
MJ was/is the most unique person I've ever seen, and so was the way that he danced, talked, and walked.
Even his cocky strut when he was on stage is extremely unique and a sight to behold.

well, some are better than others. some actually do a decent job. I've seen little kids impersonate Michael better than him

Michael deserves #1.

The concept exists because of him. He innovated and paved the way. All others are followers.

. Lol. Exactly right. Why I called it a novelty act instead of impersonator. It's more like young Bruno sings Michael Jackson songs. I don't think he's even trying to impersonate him. IMO.
His Elvis isn't good either but hey-he's 4 yrs old and had big brown eyes and a baby sneer.
I remember when 'Honeymoon in Vegas' came out and I just thought it was hysterical. Especially the millions of Elvis impersonators. (Helped that I didn't grow up an Elvis fan so it didn't offend me). I almost fell out of my chair when I read Bruno was the baby Elvis in that movie, and I vividly remembered how hard I had laughed at his scene.
Made me feel so old too. Ha.

That isn't a factor on his Super Bowl performance video. That is the property of the NFL and he couldn't have that pulled.

well, the videos I saw was he did Billie Jean and he did have full BJ costume on, and also did MJ moves. and the other one was I'll be there, and he had an afro wig on, and a 70's like shirt. so I would say that's impersonating

^^oh really? I've seen one video and it was quite frankly super dark. He had an Afro but sometimes he wears his hair that way now-and he had just regular old clothes on. I had read an interview where he said it was a part time job after school. Maybe I saw a rehearsal.

I've seen him do "Michael" on an SNL skit and that was cute. But not what I consider a serious impersonator. But I'm not one to judge. I don't care for impersonators and have never purposely seen one.

I don't care much for impersonators either, only when it's little kids. and I thought he was when he did Michael like he was when he did Elvis
