I’ve had it with the estate!!!

^Speaking of live albums, I wonder why Live In Bucharest 92 isn’t released as a live album?

Perhaps because half of the songs weren't actually sung live?

I don't think we really need a Dangerous Tour or History Tour live album. What we really need is more concert video release. If some fans love live album, we can just convert them ourselves.

Even Bad Tour Live at Wembley 88 had 4 lip-synced songs. I don’t think Dangerous Tour is like History Tour at all when it comes to live vocals.

The live album by The Jacksons - with some of MJ solo songs - is GREAT !!

Still a shame we only have 2 live albums of adult MJ - The Jacksons - LIVE and MJ BAD Wembley. Would like another BAD from 1st leg - totally different set-list. Also Triumph and Victory could have a live release. - But they propably don't have the audio in good quality. sad.
Love the Jacksons live album! Michael's live adult voice really peaked on that tour (even tho parts of the album are overdubs); sounds so full & colourful plus his belting is great. Also got an incredible band with a horn section which sound so much better than the synths they used later.

I'm not sure if the estate had any involvement but I loved the digital reissues of the Jacksons album releases.

I don't get what the estate is doing. I would have thought they'd be leading by example when it came to the posthumous releases but the Prince estate has been killing it lately. They've raised the bar that was set by the Jimi Hendrix and Tupac estates when they started dropping posthumous releases ages ago. If they claim that Michael's own demos trump most other artist's finished recordings then why aren't they releasing them? It makes no sense to me. It doesn't matter if the songs are done vocally, they could release "Faces" tomorrow and I'd bump the hell out of that song and it's essentially just a beat. It looks like lost opportunities to me.

I have very, very little interest in anything by the J5 or the Jacksons. Some songs here and there are great, and I like most of Triumph, but I can’t be bothered with everything else. I think being introduced to MJ first really spoiled my perspective, because I just don’t find any of the other Jackson family members or groups to be anything worthwhile.

It took me a LONG time to be introduced to J5. In hindsight I think it was a very slow transition going backwards. I'm now listening as far back as the Get It Together era when Michael's voice first matured. The music before that I don't listen to as much.

Yeah, FOH mixes are very rarely good enough to be released as live albums. Yokohama, Bucharest, every HIStory Tour show other than Munich, etc. Mixing for a concert isn’t the same as mixing for a CD.

just had a 1 hour-talk with dieter wiesner for our germany MJ podcast.. and he said that Branca would have been never back in MJs team if he was still alive.

I have a live album from The National Stadium, Bucharest, October 1st 1992. It's a 2CD set, called "Michael Jackson Live and Dangerous".

I bought it on e-bay and it's amazing. I confess, though, I have no idea how it came to exist. Very good bootleg, maybe.....?

LOL and Dieter Weisner is trustworthy? The man who talked Michael into signing power of attorney over to him, at one stage?
Plus John Branca was back in the picture before Michael passed away, because Michael wanted him (and Frank Dileo, Kenny Ortega, Michael Bush, etc.) back at the helm for the TII concerts and beyond.

That's a brilliant bootleg. I think the audio is taken from the BBC broadcast of the show.

The official DVD audio has way too much fake audience noises, which completely smothers the music at the best of times. Which is a shame, because I really like how the show is mixed other than that.

It was one of my first MJ discs ever ... and I had not idea what a bootleg was back then.
Relistening to it now, I think it's quite good, just missing a bit in quality/mixing to what I would expect from an official release (that makes it a good bootleg indeed).

Branca was back in MJs team while he was alive though
Exactly - makes no sense. It was MJ himself who got Branca back before TII...

So Dieter Wiesner is just pure speculation and trying to make himself look more important/better... Branca is and amazing lawyer and he knows the industry. MJ had he still been alive could not have gotten a better lawyer.

Then there is the 3 fake songs. - The songs many many fans still believe is MJ. - So how on earth should a lawyer know better? Only Cascio to blame for that IMO. Both SONY and The Estate was tricked.

The fact that we've heard more songs from the 1983 Paul Anka sessions than post-trial songs... 😭😭

Because several people working on the project said it was not MJ - but they chose to ignore that. Moreover, they have had 11 years to correct their mistake and simply refused to do so. Those crap songs are still available for sale and up on streaming platforms. If they genuinely cared about MJ's artistry, they would have removed those songs and issued an apology. But, as is also evident from everything else they do, it's really only the money they care about.

Not defending them for issuing fraudulent songs, but this won’t happen. It’s not about doing the right thing, it’s about the multi-million dollar withdrawal process, PR nightmare, and floodgate of lawsuits that would come their way if they pulled the Cascio tracks from circulation. Obviously this could’ve been avoided entirely by, y’know, listening to the several people who warned that the songs were obviously fake, but… here we are.

I don’t have a full list, but it’s my understanding that the vast majority of post-trial songs aren’t finished. There are a few that could come out with some polishing, but most would have to be repurposed as duets or features.

RedOne confirmed he has a song releasable didn’t he? Will has finished songs too. I’m not saying there are hundreds, but there are at least one or two we could have.

Do you have a list of songs that were written post trial and feature finished or almost finished vocals by Michael?
No, but you said there is a possibility there are no songs finished post trial. Both Will and RedOne have confirmed this isn’t the case and could release material in the right circumstance

RedOne said he has one finished song. Will only started saying his songs were unfinished after MJ died; before, he claimed that they finished at least two.

I'd rather have the Anka songs than Days in Gloucestershire.. it pisses me off though that Anka got a pay day and "recognised" for the release of songs Michael had no intention of releasing and the story that Michael ran off with the songs

So. Releasing Dangerous in Red and Silver vinyl in a very muted manor is... pretty much on par with what we've come to expect really, isn't it?
