New MJ content (Possibility)

I'd rather see nothing than a musical and biopic to be honest. Neither are to my taste and I don't think they add anything to Michael's legacy

Yes, they are trying to fade his memory. It’s not like MJ One, Immortal World Tour, Broadway shows don’t exist, which do more to keep Michael’s legacy alive than any unreleased music would. Not to mention the upcoming biopic which will reach out to a lot of younger audience.

I know that you are a bit emotional but please think before you post.
A musical which has a main actor who didn't have much good stuff to say about MJ a while ago. Hm...

MJ One, Immortal World Tour and Broadway shows are just local efforts. I can't visit any of these, and I don't even know anyone who can. Because they are not available everywhere in the world for instance.

Surely, it would be odd if no type of circus/show would NOT want to do any MJ project. It's an absolute minimum requirement.

It is true the current projects are very limited in scope, only for a select audience. The movie should be a big event though. I see the film as one of the last possible opportunities to put Michael in positive light again.

It wasn't the main actor who said negative stuff about MJ. I believe it was someone else who was involved with the show. But regardless, the musical doesn't depict MJ in a negative light and focuses mainly on his music, so it is a positive in my eyes.

Immortal world tour wasn't just a local tour. They did a full fledged world tour. Also there are plans for Broadway to do a tour of USA in 2023. It won't just stay in New York.

Mike's biggest market since Bad has been Asia and europe, Asia also happens to be the biggest population. We asians don't have any access to any of these shows.

You can't compare such shows to music and films. Even a world tour, they go to one city in some countries in each continent. Not all cities, not all countries. And in one country, one city, only so many people can attend.

Music and film can be listened to, and viewed by almost every single person on the planet. Also, music and film is Michael Jackson. The shows are not. I am not quite sure how you can believe that these shows are better to preserve and keep MJs legacy alive. The more I think about it, the more absurd that sounds.

By no means, shows are not a negative thing at all. I have seen only one MJ show and that was in London 12-13 years ago. There has never been any show near by me since then. But they are just a bonus.

I'm a bit emotional? Well if just seeing other people dance to his music is enough for you then to each it's own but that's not keeping his legacy alive! It's 2022 & the biggest artist in the world has not one short film on 4k...that speaks volume!! High level

The market for posthumous stuff is very limited. The music Michael released in his lifetime will always trump any music that will be released after his death.

For an artist’s legacy to grow after their death, tribute shows like Immortal, MJ One and MJ Musical do a better job. A Broadway show featuring Michael’s biggest hits will do a better job of enhancing MJ’s legacy than some unreleased song that only a few hardcore fans will listen to in the long run.

People coming together to dance to MJ’s music and having the time of their lives at MJ musical is indeed keeping Michael’s legacy alive in 2022. But like you said, each to their own.

Yeah, I guess you'd fit right into The Estate team with your ways of thinking, no offense :)

I agree. So why not just release everything left in the vaults, untouched, for the hardcores to hear.

Who knows? Maybe they want to save some stuff for the future.
Future!? Xscape with only 2 New Songs (Chicago / Loving You) is now over 8 fu*ing years ago, Maybe John Branca is waiting until he will hopefully Meet the Lord ASAP!!!! we was waiting since invincible for a new Album … one greates Hits after greates Hits. Then They was teasing us with Will.I.Am Tracks, i was listening From 2006-2009 only will.i.am Tracks to get a feeling how the new Songs will be every day with a feeling in My Heart That the new Album will drops. Then he announced this is it and the Rest is history. When MJ died After a couple of months i was with My Self a Little Bit happy (Not About His death!!!) that we will get Over of 100 unrealased Song what asshole branca give us was a JASON MALACHI joke!!!! Im really done with this Estate!!! I was waiting since invincible and tuc!!! We was supporting MJ with everything we got!!! We dont deserve this. Im so frustated. This pathetic response doesn't warrant a response but I will respond nonetheless.

Wishing death on Branca is really low but I am not surprised.

You blame the Estate for Will-i-am being contradictory with his statements regarding his unreleased music with Michael. If he really wanted to release his tracks, he could have easily collaborated with the estate. The reality is that there aren't probably any release william songs except for one or two.

Xscape had eight new songs, not two. Don't listen to leaked music if you only want the never heard before songs. The estate have every right to release leaked songs on an album. Also, Michael album had six new Michael songs except the Jason Malachi songs. Not to mention the six new songs on Bad 25. We have gotten more new music since MJ's death than we did from 2002 until MJ's death.

The time frame between Xscape and now is the same as the time frame between Invincible and MJ's death. Did you complain that Michael didn't release any new album in the final eight years of his life?

Loving the comparison with Prince. People like you think Prince fans are happy with his estate. They aren't. Just head over to prince.org.

Also, Prince and Michael were two completely different artists. Prince recorded endless albums. He had many unreleased albums. Michael doesn't. Michael released an album every 4-5 years. He doesn't have any where near the amount of unreleased music that Prince had in his vault. Michael's estate are a reflection of Michael just like Prince's estate are a reflection of Prince with their releases.

You sound a typical emotional stan who comes up with entitled nonsense like "we don't deserve it". Calm down alright.

Speaks for itself!
And they are all good to great songs nonetheless (at least one of the different versions we got in some cases)!

Admittedly the gap since 2014 is long, unnerving & straining.
But with the IRS & the Robberson situation it‘s understandable that they took a break.
Especially the point made earlier in the thread regarding the IRS case & the estate’s argument that there wasn’t much material there (for obvious/financial reasons), is an intelligent observation & is playing a role.

Well said.

I would love to know more about how well the Estate is looking after Michael's material archive. I would like some reassurance on that. It might seem like a small concern (I wouldn't agree) in the face of ongoing lawsuits but it's still important. New releases, I'm not so bothered. We'll get stuff or we won't. But you can't argue with this list.

Robberson. :ROFLMAO:

Too much positivity in the last 3 posts though the facts stated can't be argued with. My gut feeling is still mostly negative regarding the Estate though :p I'd rather moan than congratulate their efforts:D

I'll always find it weird that some fans like to act like the estate lying to the irs is understandable lmao.

It's not "LYiNg".
It's about making tough but smart business decisions.
It's about protecting the inheritance of Prince, Paris & Bigi.

All of you who are saying "tHeY sHoULdN't hAvE liED" had probably never had to file their taxes and protect their income.
You put forward your best arguments and calculate for the best outcome.
Anything else would not be deemed a responsible handling of the financial situation.

Are you suggesting most of us here are kids who have never filed our own taxes, and/or scam our way out of them? :)

So you are defending them for lying about the taxes to protect their income. Presumebly, you should be defending them as well for lying about the fake songs by releasing them, even when they already realised they were fake. You know, to protect their income.
