Anyone else think "Victory" with Freddie Mercury has a chance of being included? I know it was recorded AFTER Thriller, but I consider anything from 1982-1985 as fair game for inclusion. Also, it's the only Freddie & MJ collab that hasn't been leaked in any way so far.

I have heard the song before on YouTube. You are right it’s in great quality. Just hopeful that the official release will be even better… one can dream

I would release the song "Victory" on a Victory reissue along with a concert DVD.

I get what you’re saying but I disagree with this and I don’t even think this is a true definition of the word “demo” in musical terms. Just because a song was withheld from a release doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a demo. It’s a fuzzy line, it’s not clear-cut like that. Imo Someone put your hand out, Xscape, Is It Scary cannot be described as demos even if they missed their spots on their intended albums.

But for the sake of posthumous albums I think the best strategy would be to call them demos.

This is not going to happen.

Firstly, the song is unfinished.

Secondly, such an inclusion would confuse many people because this song is clearly tied to the 'Victory' album, not to the 'Thriller' album.

It would also distract attention from the 'Thriller 40' album.

Also, the fact that it has not leaked yet does not mean that they should release it.

The 'Reworked Version' term fits better, rather than the 'Demo' term.
 
im thinking the setlist will be something similar to:

1. Starlight
2. Hot Street
3. NiteLine
4. The Toy
5. Behind The Mask
6. State Of Shock (w/freddie mercury)
7. Rolling the Dice
8. Chicago 1945
9. Carousel
10. She's Trouble

it would be a great mix of the unheard, leaked and the previously remixed together, 5 leaked, 2 never heard and 3 previously remixed (but never properly heard) would be a great setlist for the anniversary.

It remember reading somewhere that the production was different (Rhodes instead of guitars or a combination of both)

I’m very happy that they will release this. This song is my favorite posthumous song and I can’t wait to hear it with thriller era vocals

If it turns out to be true with "the toy", then 2 of 3 songs are conected to the "Michael" album. Wondering if the 1981 demo of "Much too soon" will find its way on to Thriller40, too.

was thinking that actually, it seems thriller 40 is like a sweep-up of Michael.
