I can't wait to hear What A Lovely Way To Go, I've always been intrigued by the songs in the 1993 deposition that haven't been released yet

I hope one day we'll hear Michael McKellar, I always loved Mike's reaction when he's asked about that one

Korgnox you clearly have this already, this looks like to me a AA single. Is this potentially the first single? If so I think they should release this and nothing else for a while! To quote Michael we want to let it *simmer*!

It was disappointing to me in the sense that it had already been released, albeit in a limited capacity.

But I agree with you. Even though I am not the biggest fan of Got The Hots, it is a good thing that it is getting released on Thriller 40, which would make it accessible for everyone.

I don't know if you're serious. So they release 2 or 3 demos every five years and ask us to pay 25 $ for them, and we're supposed to be satisfied?

They could be putting out BOX SETS of unreleased stuff, demos, outtakes, alternate takes, live recordings, etc. Look at what the Elvis estate has been doing for decades now.

I make no apologies about being demanding. The Estate has made it clear they're in the business of making money. Fine. I'm in the business of getting value for my money. We'll see how many truly unreleased songs are on this in the end, but they're still asking us to buy -- AGAIN -- songs we already have ten copies of so that we can hear a couple of demos when they could, if they wanted, release a dozen such demos and outtakes every year.

I personally am very dissapointed with the inclusion of Got The Hots, as it could have easily been released on the digital version as part of the "bonus" tracks on Disc 3, and then everyone would win, people that wanted the song to be available on streaming, and fans that wanted new content on Disc 2.

Translation: “They don’t give me everything I want, and that makes them bad. Look at what this other estate does, even though they’re two totally different companies and have totally different resources! I could point at the actual BS they’re guilty of, but why do that? Give me more.”

Come on now.
 
Looks like the 2010 Mark Ronson version was to be called ‘Lovely Way’ instead of ‘What a Lovely Way to Go’.

Wonder if it's possible MJ says both lonely and lovely in the song, would explain the title confusion (unlikely but just thinking out loud, lol)

Alternate theory: MJ had some pretty sloppy handwriting. Perhaps the lawyers in the 1993 deposition who combed through his unreleased material thought the cassettes/notes they saw said “lonely” instead of “lovely”? I think it’s pretty plausible for them to mistake a quickly written V for an N.

Possibly. And MJ didn't bother to correct the lawyer. His mind was probably too busy trying to remember all of the tracks anyways.

Yes, « give me more » is my policy when it comes to the MJ Estate, just like it is theirs when it comes to fans. They’re in it for the money, I’m in it for the content.
