The only reason I don't believe he was a figment of my imagination is because my imagination could never come up with anything as beautiful as him!Idk This sound so beautiful
MJ is was real?![]()
But I'm glad that we can express our preferences and no one will be angry or offendedCry doesn't get enough love, imo. I get that we all have different taste - yay! - but the dislike for Cry genuinely baffles me.
I completely agree. He is beyond any imagination. The only reason I don't believe he was a figment of my imagination is because my imagination could never come up with anything as beautiful as him!
That's a heretic opinion?I am obsessed with Little Susie.
What's amazing to me about Little Susie is that Michael created it during the making of Off The Wall (Or around that time) . So even at age of 19/20 he was creating genius music like this. And it's been said that the version that was written during the making of the OTW album is very close to what ended up on HIStory. That's a heretic opinion?Well, put me in Michael jail then!
The usual opinion I see is that most don't consider it a "bad" song, they just think it's very dark (which... well, they aren't wrong, lol) so it's often skipped. Though interestingly you don't hear the same sentiment regarding Smooth Criminal, which is one of Michael's most famous song, even. Maybe because it's danceable?(Absolutely adore both songs BTW, for those who don't know me well enough yet LOL.)

Me too
Tried to include you in my previous post but the system wouldn't let me, lol. This might not interest you but I like to err on the side of caution. That's a heretic opinion?Well, put me in Michael jail then!

I am somehow especially happy when I hear such nice things said by other people about MichaelThis is 11 years old and is only 1m 42s but it is beautiful. Italian with English subtitles. Enrico Rava, jazz musician who has covered, amongst others, Little Susie.
I truly love the track list for Thriller 40. I still listen to songs from it on a weekly, if not daily basis! I do totally wish for the Girl is Mine demo, though...And that Thriller 40 really had no flaws, even Can't Get Out of the Rain was fine. Why they forgot the Girl is Mine demo though..
I can't disagree with anything you said, but neither C1945 or DA existed in time for Thriller.I was more annoyed about Can't get out of the rain being on thriller 40 for the same reason as like sunset driver... [i LOVE Sunset Driver so much] but because THEY ARE ALREADY PAST RELEASED MATERIAL. I've had Can't get out of the rain already for years and chicago 1945 and dream away [I ADORE DREAM AWAY] would have been better choices.
it's basically the end of you can't win with an extra vocal track saying "rain" over the one that says "game" on the original line, but it was released as can't get out of the rain on its own already and it felt unnecessary to me. MOST of thriller 40 just felt unnecessary, i listened to the tracklist on youtube and ultimately only needed 3 of the songs. i just feel like there could've been more or better or even something else instead.
I have to argue that Yes, they did EXIST, they were in the vault, they just hadn't been LEAKED, and they could have been officially released that way instead.I can't disagree with anything you said, but neither C1945 or DA existed in time for Thriller.
Both were made a week after Thriller.I have to argue that Yes, they did EXIST, they were in the vault, they just hadn't been LEAKED, and they could have been officially released that way instead.
MJ revisited songs. And wasn't Sunset Driver for Off The Wall? In short, where is our official Dream Away release?!?!?!![]()
This. SO much this.I stand by what I said about the 4k videos. they slow down michael’s movement, and make it less dynamic. I prefer to watch them in the original quality. ‘thriller’ and ‘beat it’ were supposed to be grimy.
The grime is valid, but the bad color saturation of Beat It was not worth it. I never enjoyed that video in that quality. And idk why people would dislike 4K music videos but want 4K concerts.I stand by what I said about the 4k videos. they slow down michael’s movement, and make it less dynamic. it’s the same quality that I grew up with, that I’ve always known. I have no problem with it at all. I’m not interested in any remastering that will zap the energy, speed and intricacy from Michael’s movement. that in itself, is a major factor of michael’s legacy as a performer, that needs to be preserved. The grime is valid, but the bad color saturation of Beat It was not worth it. That's a big part of it for me. 40 years of Thriller and Beat It is burnt into my brain.it’s the same quality that I grew up with, that I’ve always known.
Same. The original quality of the videos looks fine to me.I have no problem with it at all.
And this is the other part of it. It's not just a question of what am I used to? It's also - is this changing what I'm seeing onscreen?I’m not interested in any remastering that will zap the energy, speed and intricacy from Michael’s movement.
Exactly. I don't even care about the upgrade, in a way, if it's made available as a choice for people. But the originals need to be preserved and also made available as a viewing choice so people can see and understand what Michael and his team created. Or, at least, what was released and broadcast at the time.that in itself, is a major factor of michael’s legacy as a performer, that needs to be preserved.
If MJ has problems with his lip/nose during the latter recording sessions, then this would have no doubt effect how he sang. I loved the way he sounded on 'Invincible'. Everything changes. With Invincible I think a few factors played roles in his voice being a bit different..
1. naturally with age and strain over the years his voice was a little deepe
2. they filtered out a lot of the natural sounds they usually kept in.. (breathing, background noises that Michael would make etc.) made it less authentic
3. his voice did become a little more nasally and his breathing patterns were different. you could tell he had to try more..
I still think he sounded amazing though, id still love to hear Break Of Dawn Acapella!
Seems like the frame rate is higher in the original? You can appreciate the spins better.here’s a comparison post of the Suzuki advert from ‘79. I’m not sure if the first video is 4k like it claims to be, but there’s clearly an attempt to improve the visual quality - which it does.
however, I’m not blown away by Michael’s dancing like I was in the original video below. I prefer this one.
CLHGW sets a high standard, though!I don't think there's a single unreleased song superior to Can't Let Her Get Away or The Girl is Mine. Ban me! Sue me!
