The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

I have a theory that What A Lovely Way To Go is from the pre Destiny era

Listening to Mike's vocals and some of the beatboxing percussion (very similar to Blues Away from 1976) it strikes me as a late 70's production. Also if you listen to it, it sounds like something Gamble and Huff were producing for The Jacksons around that time, with the "group shouting" and some of the back ups in general. Maybe Mike was trying to emulate that?
I've thought 1977 from the first listen.

Perhaps "Gone Too Soon" was more a case of intention, rather than quality. Not a bad track, but the context with Ryan White adds much of the weight to it, imo.

It is literally the song to play whenever someone dies. Like what are we even talking about.

Lovely Way is such a horrible song. it's like the worst together with Can't Get Outta The Rain.

that estate knows how to disappoint with anniversary releases (what about Hot Street or Nite Line?)

Pretty unfair to judge a 7-minute song out of a 6 seconds snippet tbh.
Yeah, just look at how fans’ opinions on GYWOOM evolved. It went from “this song is garbage; leave it in the vault” with the leaked snippets to “OMG BANGER” when the whole thing leaked yesterday. This should be a valuable lesson for fans to not judge entire songs based on tiny snippets.

Somebody literally said it sounded like MJs voice cracked on the song. They were downright smearing the song..it's actually hilarious.

I mean you ask for demos ig lol

People feel like shitting on GYWOOM because it’s his most popular unreleased song lol.
Not a terrible track, but not the strongest, either. Miles better than the likes of "The Lost Children" and a few others. I think the Michael album would've made a good home for it, considering what we ultimately got out of that.

it's a cool song to listen to but it doesn't bring anything to Invincible that isn't already there.

Maybe Bad Era will have the best outtakes when this is all said and done but, I will genuinely say it's the case that Invincible, has the best vocals of all the outtakes. It's actually pretty incredible. We've Had Enough, Beautiful Girl, Blue Gangsta, a Place With No Name, Xscape, and even CGYWOOM. And Fall Again and TWYLM. And that's not even all of them.

Dangerous is kinda balanced where, every subpar demo has great vocals, and every great demo has good but not incredible singing.

Thriller just runs the gamut of basic 90% average stuff all sung well. With 10% unheard of gems.

Dangerous demos are the worst ones overall
