For me, I wouldn't say REALLY BAD. But it's definitely not good.

I actually considered using If You Don't Love Me for the soundtrack to my imaginary cartoon series about Michael (more on that another day). Maybe because it is cheesy though... And to be honest, really repetitive. Even the book "Michael Jackson: All the Songs" agrees it is repetitive, lmao.

i said this before on a profile post, but to me, Can't Get Outta The Rain sounds like it could be the background music for a trailer for a shitty animated children's movie to which Michael's music was condemned to be part of the soundtrack. 😭😭 every time I hear it, I can't help but say, "COMING THIS SUMMER" in my bad movie trailer voice out loud 💀

it's so insanely funky though, i can't deny that.

agree. i also read somewhere michael wasn't a fan of Mick Jagger's vocals on the released version. which is strange, because... I love the music of the Rolling Stones. But Jagger's vocals on State of Shock are kind of underwhelming to me at best. I definitely prefer the version with Freddie Mercury (and also because I'm a huge fan of Queen and Freddie in general).

I actually just discovered Bring Me the Head of Charlie Brown last week. Although I've known it existed for years, I used to think it was some weird creepypasta thing and would not watch it. But now I've watched it officially. It's absolutely hilarious. Jim Reardon is awesome. I also discovered he was the one of the masterminds behind the screenplay of WALL-E and the Itchy and Scratchy bit on the Simpsons!

Torture and State Of Shock are the only 2 good songs on that album. IMO it's the 2nd worst Jacksons album behind the follow up to Victory, 2300 Jackson St. That's the worst one.
 
"Just a Little Bit of You" from Motown-days has always be my least-favourite of his output. It's kitsch beyond belief.

Also Latoya's "Night Time Lover".

Even if Michael actually sang this, it would still be trash.

I always found it unsettling that "Michael" would refer to himself in the third person in that song ("Everybody stalking the moves of Michael Jackson"), which was the first indicator to me that something wasn't right about the Cascio tracks. The lyrics are awful. That's really the thing I like least about it. I've seen/heard fan-made AI songs with better lyrics than that. 😭

It's so cringe af those lyrics as though he's in third person 😭

I remember when they first released the teaser, it was the intro which sounded authentic enough , reminds me of a privacy/ tabloid junkie vibe.

As soon as the vocals start though it loses complete credibility from the first note 🤣
