Celebrities Supporting Michael

Chinese pop star singing in a language close to 1 billion people don’t understand. I don’t get it.

Mandarin or Cantonese? I wonder ...
Mmmh, I think those languages are spoken by almost as many people as English. I did´n´t understand Michael´s English lyrics as a teen, eiher, but was an instant fan :D

Don't understand your point.

The population of China is approx 1 billion. Or a bit more, not sure of exact figure.

Lay Zhang is fluent in Mandarin, English and Korean (according to Wiki).

He's a big fan of Michael. I love his video clip. :)

@zinniabooklover the point is that Chinese culture has no affinity with American or English culture so I really don’t understand why a local pop star makes international sounding pop music in English. Chinese people in general don.t understand one bit of English.

I don’t know of Brazilian pop stars singing in English or Russian pop stars either. I find it weird. If they were Korean or Japanese then I could get it as they have been exposed to Western culture.

Very cute!!

His post read as: every time daddy changed your nappy we would always dance to this song....our song forever. ❤️

I remember around 2001 there was a documentary on Beckham and he was mentioning Victoria and said , just like Michael Jackson, she rocks my world.

Also, in his biography, he said that the only ever time he got starstruck was when he once met Michael, there is no picture of them together but I believe it did happen.

Stephanie Mills is back on Broadway to play Hermes in Hadestown musical since July.

She hasn’t performed on a Broadway stage since The Wiz where she played the role of Dorothy Gale in Detroit 1974, Broadway 1975 and 1984 and on the US Tour in 1992.

So a big welcome back to Stephanie!

As all shows, the cast is often asked to promote the show with interviews and Stephanie is just doing that.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, the 67 year old Queen keeps defending Michael Jackson when asked about her relationship with the King of Pop!

“I loved him,” she told The Post. “We had a great friendship, a great relationship. And I don’t like when people try to target what he’s built, you know? Because he … was not convicted of anything. And I knew him well.”

“He would never do anything to a child. And I know that for a fact. So that’s why I keep his name alive and continue to post about him [on social media]. Because, you know, they like to forget about you and throw you away. And how can they? He was one of the greatest entertainers in the world.”

Obviously the media is also turning to The Wiz and ask questions about why she wasn’t in the movie.

“You know, when they first were going to do [the movie adaptation of] ‘The Wiz,’ there was another director who wanted me to be Dorothy,”

“Everybody knows that I love and I’m a huge fan of Miss Ross, the Boss,” she said. “So I wasn’t disappointed. I mean, I got a chance to be with Michael, who I loved, and I lived with him on Sutton Place while he was shooting the movie [in New York].

“So I wasn’t disappointed because I got a chance to be with Michael Jackson. So I didn’t care.”

We just love Stephanie Mills. She is not scared to tell the truth and we wish more artists took the stand for Michael, for what they believe or know.

So again Stephanie, THANK YOU!

Michael Jackson was more of a performer, didn't even write his own music.

Bill Bottrell

@BillBottrell

Absolutely wrong. He wrote all his greatest hits with a couple exceptions, had to fight his famous producers to keep his more progressive songs, which became hits.He sang every note to musicians as he did not care to learn an instrument, and that's for a good reason in his case. All those years, all those songs, not one musician who transcribed MJ's notes for a song complained that he should've got writer credit. That doesn't happen. Later, the pressure on his co-writers to innovate came from MJ, you can listen to their other stuff and hear the difference. He heard whole productions in his head before any one played a note. He patiently let the recording grow while great musicians and producers tried to please him.

This myth of Michael not being a songwriter is still going strong I see. That’s what you get when there is not a single documentary or book about his actual music.

Who made the initial comment?

I didn't bother following the convo but I do remember someone was insisting that Toto was responsible for loads of Michael's stuff and someone had to point out that they were not understanding the difference between songwriting vs. arranging and / or playing an instrument on a song. I think that was where Bill came in.

Facebook - Tito Jackson

Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I, visited the beautiful memorial dedicated to our beloved brother, Michael Jackson. We're deeply grateful for this special place that honors not only his memory but also our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive.

Nicolas Jackson a Chelsea forward just scored a goal against West Ham and celebrated that event with doing part of the thriller dance routine. The commentator had no clue what he was doing but they whispered in his ear piece that Nicolas was in fact dancing the Thriller choreography. The commentator then commented that the Jackson 5 could be rebranded the Jackson 6.

If someone has a video of it, feel free to post.
