iirc he just said they're looking for one or two unreleased songs they could add to the ost.Prince
Would be cool, if they'd choose the supposedly finished 2006/7 mix of DBMR.

I love the idea that there might be a finished mix of DBMR, there's something about the vibe of that song that is so unique.iirc he just said they're looking for one or two unreleased songs they could add to the ost.

Honestly, idk what to expect. Since Bruce Swedien spoke highly of DBMR, I assume it's worth the praise.I love the idea that there might be a finished mix of DBMR, there's something about the vibe of that song that is so unique.
I wonder what more Mike would have done to the track? Instrumentally I think the Bad era version is great, it just needed some finished lyrics.
Having a score with the unreleased orchestral songs would make the most sense to me.Two unreleased songs are going to be on the soundtrack compilation album
The Unreleased Collection with 10 CDs!I'm hoping for a potential release with a new album that has all these songs kept in the vault.
April fools was a week agoimagine loren songs like satisfy you redone with Jafaar on lead.
I'd rather notimagine loren songs like satisfy you redone with Jafaar on lead.
There's a potential, though I don't think people are so open to the idea 'til we hear what he sounds like as MJ.I want to rephrase what i meant, songs with MJ only on elements like gloucester/satisfy you/call it off featuring Jafaar instead of Bryan/some random celebrity.
I missed all of you tooI literally just said I missed this thread lol.
Yeah, I'm still not gonna put that thought out into the world.I want to rephrase what i meant, songs with MJ only on elements like gloucester/satisfy you/call it off featuring Jafaar instead of Bryan/some random celebrity.
Definitely releasing the last version MJ worked on. I don't mind remix projects if they are marketed as such, but releasing other people's work and presenting it as MJ songs is something I'm not that interested in. The demos on Xscape were also horrid when it comes to sound quality and some of them were the most primitive versions with later and better versions existing but not included for whatever reason.Which do you guys prefer? Unreleased demos being put out or having someone finish the song?
I prefer the demo because even if it isn't exactly how MJ would have completed it, it's the closest thing we have to his vision for the song. I don't like other people interpreting his work.
I thought Xscape was a good idea giving people both options, though.
I agree. Let us hear the demos. The estate is so stingey with new musicDefinitely releasing the last version MJ worked on. If we need to have people finish the songs, then it should at the very least be the people who originally worked on them with him. I am not a big fan of the Xscape remix for example, but that was Rodney's song and he did what he wanted to do with it when he remixed it for the album.
Of course this is unfortunately becoming less and less likely of a possibility of being a reality. Just release the demos then, I'd prefer that, anyway.
