I know Iā€™m talking about the DEMO, never mentioned the final product, or meant it. I never even meant to include the song on my list, I just forgot to delete it

Thanks for reminding me about Thriller 40 I had completely forgotten about it.
Wasn't the MJ estate essentially bullied by the public into changing the artwork šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

If I recall correctly before they changed it they said the new logo was a modern update to try and justify it. As if the artwork needed changing. Speaks to their entire philosophy regarding MJ and his art.

I keep forgetting they actually went ahead and used it for the vinyl release.

Is there a possibility that Luciano Pavarotti and MJ made a song together, the concert with friends didn't happend at the time due to Prince beign sick, but I wonder how about the possible collaboration...
 
Was scrolling through Bill's old posts on X. Can you imagine Earth Song on the Bad album?


The songs that went on the [Bad] album were the ones that achieved a high level of art and craft.
The others simply were part of the process.
We worked fast. Some were good songs that we couldn't produce well in a few days, and maybe could get another try another day.
Some were so early that I had hope for them, but the time was up, and I thought we would carry on next time, like ES and MB.

I remember this image/logo leaked before the estate had announced T40, and even the biggest skeptics among us were like, ā€œThereā€™s absolutely no way this is real.ā€

This might be the most baffling estate decision to be completely honest. Without question one of the worst design ā€œupdatesā€ Iā€™ve ever seen in any medium.

Let alone the fact that it's probably one of the most instantly recognisable fonts/logos in music history for obvious reasons.

I hope I didn't confuse anybody.
[in 1986] Michael screened for me, in his screening room at Hayvenhurst - "The Emerald Forest"
Which was his way of asking me to prepare for Earth Song, which barely started at Hayvenhurst, with John Barnes just playing the 2 chords on piano.
Later, Michael screened "To Kill a Mockingbird" with Gregory Peck. His way of giving me meaning for the future song "Black or White"

Both of these VHS tapes I still have.

BTW. no song was written - but the 3rd VHS he gave me was "This is Elvis"

You all should watch it.
