From what I see, over many years now, they never really trouble the charts. Especially the ones using modern metrics.
I do remember though, Christmas1995. The Beatles released a very highly promoted single here in the UK - Free As A Bird.
The main radio stations - Radio 2 and Radio 1 - kept promoting it, even telling the public to go out and buy it - to stop Michaelās āEarth Songā getting to #1 (unbelievable I know!

, but they did!!)
The Beatles representatives, Apple Records sent a CD copy of the song to Michaelās record company. With a note saying āWatch This!ā As they thought it would push Earth Song off the top spot.
They even delayed Free As A Birds release, thinking Earth Song would āburn outā after a few weeks, and they could come in hot.
Earth Song stayed at #1 for 6 weeks, making Christmas #1 (very prestigious here in the UK).
It also kept The Beatles from hitting top spot.
After Christmas, Michaelās record company sent the Beatles Cd back to Apple Records, stuffed up a turkeyās bottom

Moral of the story. Donāt try to Fk with MJ.
