1969(?) "Big Boy" Michael's very first single

The Jackson 5 was first called 'Ripples & Waves'.. They signed to a small local recording company called 'Steeltown' owned by Gordon Keith.

They recorded 12 full songs with Steeltown and 2 rehearsal audios have been kept in tact. So 14 recordings in all.

Big Boy was the first single released, on the B side was a song called 'We Don't Have To Be Over 21 (To Fall In Love)

The song quality to date vary, some are ok (Big Boy quality) and some are worse. Worth listening too though, I enjoy the rehearsal audio aswell..

Michael was too adult, the things he was singing.. "I wanna stick it in, and stick it out with you baby" ..."And I just wanna, I just wanna bite ya." lol! HA HA!! it's funny but great.. The passion in the voice was always there\

Anyways, As I get back on track..I WANT YOU BACK was there first single on a major label.. There is a big difference between a small local label, and a major record label..

They do that stuff all the time.. For example they say the Jacksons first telivison debute was on the HOLLYWOOD PALACE.. which it was actually 'the Miss America Pagent.' But they were just the side entertainment.. Hollywood palace highlighted them, so they go with that..

True but you can't deny that she has talent. Maybe she'll have more conviction when she reaches her teenage years.
She might not have a voice when she gets there. Girls voice can break too you know. Mine broke and got deeper when I used to sing so loud in church.:)

I think that was Jermiane on that one, lol.

To KOPV, that was proven false that they were known as the Ripples and Waves, their original name was actually the Jackson Brothers when it was Jackie, Tito and Jermaine. They became "The Jackson Five" in 1966, a year after Michael and Marlon joined. :)
